Meet The Amen

Every few minutes, Heat glanced at the large clock hanging in the center of the park. After what felt like forever, it was finally a few more minutes to 10PM. Heat started to distract himself by drawing constellations in the night sky. He had to have something doing to keep his mind from sliding down the hole he wanted to avoid. Finally, it was 10PM exactly; slithering out of the same bush was the snake from earlier. This time, with it was a wolf cub, an eagle, a bear cub and three other snakes.

"What is this? Animals' night out?" Heat joked.

To his extreme amazement, the animals started to transform into humans. Heat took a step back, but instead of running off like a normal person would, he looked on with intense confusion and interest. In place of the wolf cub he saw Supido, in place of the eagle he saw Aquila, in place of the bear he saw Ursus and in place of the snakes, men appeared. He looked at Supido, Aquila and Ursus in shock, utterly speechless.

"Don't say anything burn-" Ursus quickly moved out of the way to avoid a projectile.

"Didn't I tell you to stop calling me that?"

Ursus picked the stone Heat threw at his head. He was surprised with how well Heat handled everything.

"So ya throw a stone at my head? How rude. Where'd you even get it from?"

"I picked some while I was waiting for you, do you want another?" Heat asked.

"There is no time for all of this," one of the men said. "Heat Fury, as you just witnessed, we are not human and neither are you, not since your camping in the forest with Supido, Aquila and Ursus. You were bitten by a snake that has been searching for you for over a millennium now. My name is Kyuudaime Shishio." The man stretched his hand to Heat.

Heat took a good look at the man; his sharp jump to the point was surprising. He was expecting something crazy, but he did not even think of this kind of crazy. He began to wonder if he had made the right decision staying behind. Heat shook his hands. He studied the man's looks; he was a tall, white individual, quite taller than even Ursus and was dressed as if he was meeting an important personality. He had reptilian eyes and looked like a man in his early forties. Despite the odd eyes, Heat could not take his eyes off the man's dark hair, which was similar to Ursus' in length. He just had a thing against guys with long hair.

"So, a month ago, an ancient snake was what hospitalized me."

"Yes."

"As awesome as that sounds, I still don't get how a snake is over a thousand years old, and what of those three? Are they too?"

He was still trying to process it all.

Aquila chuckled. "Boy, are you lost."

"Stop acting like you didn't collapse when we told you about yours. He is still standing and seems ready to accept anything," one of the men told Aquila.

"Heat Fury...I am one of the millions, no billions of amen, waiting for your discovery. You're-"

Kyuudaime Shishio stopped short when he noticed Heat wasn't listening. Instead, he was walking backwards slowly, whispering, "I am the master of my own mind."

Supido tapped Heat from behind. A startled Heat jerked forward.

"How did you? I saw you standing there! What at all is happening?!"

"If I were to give you a kick in the nuts, would that be proof enough that this is all happening?" Supido said with a grin.

"Ha. Funny. Very funny. I'm going home, man."

"Heat Fury, you are a necessity to restore balance," Shishio continued his speech.

"Ugh, you're still on that? Fine. If this is all in my head, I'm bound to snap out of it soon anyway."

"We are a race of supernatural creatures who have lived separated from humans for several millennia. When the Dragon wanted to engineer the fall of mankind, he possessed the body of a young snake amen called Hebi-"

"Ok, so I'm guessing you're all this amen thing and Dragon and fall of mankind is the Devil in the Garden of Eden?"

"Yes, the humans have their version of events. After Hebi was freed from the Dragon's possession, he was left with knowledge on the manipulation of his spiritual energy—spa. It exists in everything on this Earth and is how we are able to do things like transformations. Lord Hebi taught his friend, Sennin, how to manipulate his spiritual energy too. Over time, more amen learned, but this only proved troublesome. Amen strayed far from the Creator's will, so one day, the Night of Babel happened; amen were scattered across different dimensions. While Lord Hebi's intention was to repair the damage he caused with his teachings, Sennin's plan was to turn every amen into a serpent amen. The two most powerful amen disagreed on the path to peace, and it escalated into a war. Forces of Lord Hebi who agreed with him, fought against those of Sennin. Dimensions shook as wars raged, leading to the first War of The Worlds. After more than a century of declining forces and a stalemate, lord Hebi formed a truce with Sennin. The deal was that, while he Lord Hebi was in his custody, both sides observed a ceasefire. However, the last day of that year was extended as Lord Hebi used full power to break free of the chains that bound him. He overcame his suppressors and finally got an opportunity to kill Sennin but failed in his attempt. This failure would lead to the Second War of the Worlds. Lord Hebi knew this madness would only end if one of them was dead, but he didn't want Sennin to win, so he came up with a plan. He decided to allow himself to die, but send his spa to someone else, that way that person would possess his wisdom and power, capable of reigniting the war, but with the sole aim of ending it. He entrusted it in the form of a poison to his right-hand man, to give it to someone worthy."

Heat chuckled at the end. "Am I supposed to be that person?"

"Yes," Shishio replied.
