Epilogue 3 of 3

The single pop of a cap could be heard as the smell of red wine filled the nose of a young female assistant as she poured the red liquid into her bosses glass. Her eyes looked up at him with concern. For all the times she worked with him, she still couldn't read his expression or mood. She never talked back, but she even worried about how he would take the news. Her mind drifted for a moment and caused her to slip and waste a little of his favorite drink on the floor.

The young assistant froze in her spot. A jolt went through her body as she quickly placed the bottle on the counter, and got to her hands and knees to clean up the mess. Fear danced through out her body as she frantically began to clean up the mess. Her hand that held the rag rapidly moved across the spill as she muttered and cursed at herself. She barely noticed the pair of dress shoes had stopped in front of her.

"My apologies, sir. My hand slipped." She told him as she continued to wipe the spill.

"Sssshhhh" His calm and silk like voice filled the room, and causing the assistant to go silent.

He leaned his head back as soft music began to play. His hand began to move and sway with the melody of the violin. His index and middle finger moved as if he was directing the player. A soft smile came across his face as he fell in love with the peace. His smile soon faded as he was brought back to reality, and looked down at his assistant as her glasses became white.

"What seemed to be on your mind?" Mr. K calmly asked her as he picked up the drink she made for him.

"Oh..well.."She focused back in. She hesitated for a moment as she got back holding the rag tightly. "It's about that assassin."

"The Clavata of the Silk?"

"Yes, sir. Forgive me for speaking out of place sir, but why did you pick her out of all of the more effective people in our roster. She seemed to eager, and might I say too personally. I felt like she could have put this whole plan in jeopardy. And it's been a few days, since we heard a report back from her." She confessed as a little hatred coated her voice. "I just think she was a bad idea to choose."

The room became quite as the assistant looked up at her employer for answers, but he simple looked out of the window towards the vast city. He took a small sip of his red wine to savor the taste and wet his throat. He removed the glass from his lips before exhaling. He looked down at the wine as he began to make it swirl in the glass.

"Those are very good reasons to be concerned. So let me ask you a question," He redirected as he held his glass of wine towards her direct. "How many grapes do you think is in cup of wine and how long do you think it took to make it?"

"I...." The assistant looked at the glass for a moment. Confusion painted her face as she wasn't sure. "I don't know, sir. I don't drink." She confessed and was surprised to hear a little chuckle come from him.

"That's funny," Mr. K said turning his head to give her a slight nod. "Yet your answer isn't far off."

"This wine could have been made fresh grapes or slightly old ones. It could be 1 year, 5, 10 or maybe 20 if it's luck. So me asking you how may grapes went into it, doesn't really matter. As long as the wine is good that's what counts." He said bringing the glass back to his lips.

"Forgive me, but I don't understand sir."

"What I'm trying to say is that Ida was a grape in the wine. She was going to be crushed one way or another. That was her true mission. All we needed her to do was to push the target towards our goal."

The assistant looked up for a moment trying to fully understand what he was trying to say.

"So you expect her to not comeback or even fail? What if she actually succeeded and killed the target? Sir, that could have put everything we worked for all these years down the drain."

"I expected her to do the task she was told. No matter how she did it, she was not going to live long, Especially with the Silver Fox and her mutt, or even the target doing it. She was one grape out of so many to make that bottle of wine." He said gesturing to it.

"Even if she succeeded in killing the target it won't stop us from trying to achieve our goal. Just prolonging it." He said looking her in her eyes. "However, this target has the most potential to be the right one. If we are wrong, this wouldn't be the first time. Trial and error, until perfection."

"I see. So what do we do about the problem of obtaining the target? I'm sure Elizabeth is not going to had it over so easily. She stopped our goal once, don't you think she could do it again?" The assistant asked this as she walked over to her employer with the bottle of wine, and refilled her cup.

"That's why we most play our cards right. In ever situation you have to defeat all the boss, in order to claim your prize. But we have an advantage over her. We have patience." He said bringing the now full glass up to his lips.

"Once, she's out of the way. The target will be ours for the taking. Then we can bring her back, and start the next phase." He told her bringing the red liquid in front of him towards the full moon. He looked at the "red" moon through his glass with hope in his eyes at his true goal.

"One day soon. We just have to stay patient," He said in a calm and serious tone. He started longingly at the red moon as if it was staring back at him.

Somewhere in the vast void of nothingness, a single jar containing a red liquid floated by. The liquid moved around a little as single bubble floated inside of it.

<What was that pull just now?> A single woman's thoughs spoke up. <Did someone call for me?>

The liquid in the jar began to move around, but soon stopped as the feeling passed. Clips of a battles seemed to come to it, but as quickly as they came they disappeared.

<Maybe it was apart of my dream?> The woman thought as the liquid stopped completely moving. Imagines of a short girl with long red hair and red eyes came to her mind as she felt sleepy again.

<These dreams....This girl....How is she?....Amay...>The woman voice trailed off as she fell back into her slumber.

The jar containing the red liquid contained to float through the void silently once again.
