Chapter 31

As Martha awaken from her nap, she came around the corner to her worried mother. While she was walking back and forth in a small line, she let out a long sigh before coming to a full stop and staring outside her front door, patiently waiting for Edward to pull up. She had her arms cross and began rapidly tapping her index finger on her upper arm. Martha could hear her began to breathe heavily as she started to bite on her thumb's nail.

"They're late. He's never this late bringing him back. What if something happened again? Did they get in trouble?" Elizabeth's thoughts began to speak as they soon created different situations that fed into her worries.

Almost an hour had passed since their agreed-upon time to have Lucas back, and they still haven't arrived. What started as a small worry soon started to grow into a stressed panic. She knew Amay would protect her baby, but Edward always seemed to attract trouble wherever he went.

Elizabeth remembered their first somewhat date. Edward's ex showed up with a Demi-Human and wanted to start drama because he left her high and dry. She thought it was funny as hell, but she soon had to pay for all the damage to the restaurant, along with most of their hospital bills. Then it seemed whenever she and Edward went out, tried to bond, or even relax, an issue always showed its face to spit on their fun. And with everything that happened with Lucas, she couldn't help but think for the worse.

"Where are they?" Elizabeth whispered as she was starting to hyperventilate. She then felt a warm hand on her shaking shoulder that slowly began to calm her down. She quickly turned around to see Martha's expressionless face. While no words left her daughter's mouth, she already knew what she was thinking.

"I know, sweetie. I should have a little more faith in him, but....it's him." Elizabeth told Martha as she motioned her hand towards the door. "I don't want this to be another one of those traumatic incidents for Lucas, or heaven forbids Amay. I just want to know they are okay." She vented.

"You need to have a little more faith. They will be here." Martha calmly spoke as she rubbed her mother's shoulder. Her head suddenly raised up before turning to face the forest entrance.

"Speak of the devil," Elizabeth said as she heard music loudly playing as a pair of headlights illuminated her driveway. A long sigh of relief escaped her mouth just as her skin and eyes turned back to her more human look. She then shook her head before going outside to meet the approaching car.

As the car finally approached and came to a stop, Elizabeth could hear three people singing Journey out loud and laughing. The passenger door opened, and Lucas was the first one to be seen with a big smile on his face. Elizabeth watched as he turned around and pulled the passenger seat forward to receive something. Her eyebrow raised as Lucas bent down and placed up a sick-looking Amay on his back.

"What the hell happened to her?" Elizabeth said, actually surprised. She approached Lucas, trying to better look at Amay, a slightly paler color than her normal self. She noticed that Amay had a big smile on her face even while her eyes were closed and groaning.

"Oh. Hey mom. She's fine. Just ate a lot of ice cream for a contest and too much candy from the movies." Lucas said, chuckling slightly. He then used one hand to support Amay as he reached into his jacket pocket to grab the picture. "Take a look."

Elizabeth gently grabbed the photo to examine it. She saw an Asian girl with long black hair and wearing the exact same clothes as Amay eating a mountain of ice cream against two more heavy-set figures. She then noticed both Lucas and Edward in the photo. Lucas, with his mouth open in either shock or cheering, and Edward was taking bets with a few other people watching the contest. Elizabeth let out a soft giggle and sigh as she looked back up at her small friend.

"Did she at least win?" Elizabeth asked, trying to keep composed while holding back her own laughter.

"You..*hiccup*....bet your..*hiccup*..ass I did. Miss....*hiccup* free Ice-cream for a year." Amay said in a singsong voice while trying to raise a little, but her stomach told her otherwise. "My milkshake..*hiccup*..brought those boys to the yard." She proudly stated.

"Damn right!" Edward said, raising out of the driver's side with a big smile on his face. "You should have seen her, B.M. She wiped the floor with those other two guys." He said, getting close to the hood of his car and leaned on it.

Elizabeth heard what he said but let out a soft groan and rolled her eyes as she knew Amay had no idea what that song was about. She then folded her arms as a smug smile came across her serious face. "Seems like you also won something."

"Hey. Nothing wrong with a little side hustle." Edward said innocently raised his hands. "It made it a little more fun. And we got to see a movie afterward."

"I see. Lucas, please take Amay to her room before she throws up on you." Elizabeth told him before looking at his father. "I need to talk to your father."

"Yes, ma'am. I-" Lucas said before Amay cut him off with her nails in his shoulder.

"Onward....*hiccup*...noble steed." Amay queasily said as she raised one hand, and moved her body forward, forcing Lucas to move.

"Ouch," Lucas said, feeling her claws. He turned quickly around to look at his dad. "Thanks for the fun, dad."

"Yeah. Thanks for the fun day, Mr. Taurus." Amay said, trying to wave back to him.

"Anytime, kiddo, and you can call me, Edward. Make sure you rest safely." Edward said as he watched his son and Amay head into the house with Martha holding the door open. He gave Martha a nod and a raised hand, which she returned with the same gesture. His attention was drawn back to a visibly upset Elizabeth standing in front of him.

"What?"

"You're late, dumbass." Elizabeth angrily told him as she hit Edward in his chest. She then did it again and again as tears began to form in her eyes. "You had me worried. Anything could have happened, and I wouldn't even know about it."

"Hey. Hey. Hey." Edward said, taking the hits before grabbing Elizabeth's arms with enough force only to stop her. He watched her struggle for a moment before pulling her close and hugging her.

Elizabeth slowly fought back but soon embraced his comfort.

"You had me so worried." She said with tears in her eyes."I was so scared."

"I'm sorry. I honestly forgot about the time. I barely see him, so I wanted to enjoy every precious second with him." Edward said in a low, raspy voice. "I didn't mean to scare you like that, Silver Fox. I'm sorry." He calmly said, stroking her head and long hair.

"I'm just worried when you don't call back when he's with you," Elizabeth said, calming down as she focused on his heartbeat. She then looked up at him with worried watery eyes. "Did he talk to you? Is he alright? Am I doing something wrong?" She began to ask.

"Hey. Hey. He's doing fine." Edward said, looking down at Elizabeth with his soft green eyes. "He's enjoying himself with all of this. And thanks to Amay's influence, he's doing a lot better." Edward said, not mentioning what he and Lucas talked about.

"I see. Is he mad at me for not telling him about any of this until a month ago? Does he think I'm a bad mother?" She said, looking away from his eyes. She then felt his index and thumb lightly grip her chin and guided her to look him in the eyes.

"You are a great mother. I supported you when you decided not to teach him when he was young. And he turned out to be a great young man with his own demons to fight. And I will support you now in teaching him what he needs to know." Edward told Elizabeth with a soft smile. "You raised him well. Way better than what I could ever do." He joked.

His dumb joke made Elizabeth giggle as she wiped her eyes.

"Thank you for staying around. I know you don't ask for anything, and you could have just walked away, but I do appreciate you and everything you do," Elizabeth said as her face slightly blushed red.

"You're my love, so I would have never left you alone. Besides, of all the women I've been with, you still have the best ass around. " Edward softly talked to her as he gave her butt a soft but firm grab. He then heard her softly gasp from his action.

"You're still a fucking pig," Elizabeth said in shock, but her hand reached down and squeezed his package. "But you do remember who's the best of all of them, correct?"

"You know it, my silver fox," Edward said, going to kiss Elizabeth's warm lips.

To his surprise, Elizabeth didn't stop him but actually kissed him first. Elizabeth started to take the lead as their small kiss became more passionate and even slide her tongue into his mouth. As she pushed him slightly back against his car, Edward tried to squeeze her firm rear again. However, he felt her hand stop him and pulled his hand away.

"You're always liked to tease me, don't you?" Edward said, barely holding back his chuckle.

"And you still allow me to?" Elizabeth coldly said as she pulled back from him and fixed her nightgown. "You still haven't gotten what I wanted. Once you have what I want, I will let you have what you want." Elizabeth smugly told him.

"I know. I know. It's really hard to find them. Maybe you can give me a little motivation." Edward said, trying to touch her chest, but felt Elizabeth slap his hand away.

"Your motivation was a few seconds again. and you being this close to me. Find them and have them contact me, and this fox may let you catch her." Elizabeth playful told him. She gracefully turned around and allowed her hair to flow as she walked back to her house.

Edward sighed but couldn't help but chuckle to himself. "Even as time passes, you still play hard to get. My lovely Silver Fox." He thought to himself as he gladly watched her leave. This was one of the reasons he fell for her so badly. With her warm lips slowly fading from his own, Edward let out a sigh as he had a long drive ahead of him to find the two people she wanted to speak with.

"I'll see you again soon," Edward yelled back to Elizabeth as he could feel her softly smile back at his words.
