132 Crisis Over, Or is It?

Ultraman disengaged from the fight he was having with the surprisingly strong member of EL and flew over to Luthor who had cried out.

 "What just happened?"

"He has taken the QED to Earth Prime." Luthor informed him, like that solved any of the mystery.

 "Need more than that Lex."

"If he detonates it there, he'll destroy all reality."

Zeik lands next to Ultraman, "I'm not happy with the implications of that. I was under the impression that the QED was more of a planet-controlling device and less of a planet-destroying one. No money in destroying land."

A shout came from a tied-up Superwoman, "Don't listen to him."

Ultraman looked over to see the defeated Superwoman helpless in the hands of their enemies. "Owlman's just taking the bomb to a hiding place."

"Don't try and con me. What are you two playing at?"

Ignoring everyone, Tony walked to the computer screen and started going through it looking for answers.

Lex spoke up in despair, "There is no way to follow him, It's over."

 "Not yet." Iron Man declared.

"How many coordinates does your portal device keep in its memory?"

 "The last dozen, why?"

"That's more than enough, give it to me."

Lex reached for where he kept his portal gun, only to find it not there. "I... I don't have it, maybe I lost it in the fight?"

Devilbat spoke, "Everyone spread out and look for it, we still have a chance."

"Umm, anyone seen the kid? He is usually good in a clutch like this from what I understand." Tony asked.

"I haven't seen him since... He woke me up and told me to get to work on the computer."

Their discussion was interrupted by Ultraman, "I said what the hell is going on you stupid broken whore?"

Ororo raised her hand towards the lightning-bound woman, "Speak only true and tell all, the lightning commands you!"

Superwoman cried out in pain and frustration, then she began speaking the truth to the rest of the Crime Syndicate about Owlman's plans.

Ignoring the recap monolog of the situation, Silverflash ran around the whole hangar looking for the portal gun that Lex had dropped but couldn't find anything. He stopped and notified Tony, Lex, and Matt. "It's nowhere in this building, not even a piece of it."

 "Did you see the kid?"

Realization began to dawn on the group. Silverflash was the first to speak, "Someone is going to have to tell J'onn, and it's not going to be me."

-(Earth Prime)-

Owlman looked around at the surface of Earth Prime. It was in ruins and desolate. "So, this is where it all began is it? How disappointing."

The view of the sky was admittedly beautiful, in a desolate kind of way. The lack of vegetation was explained by the missing yellow sun. It was now more of a Red/ Orange color. Its light seemed to struggle to make it to this planet. Though there did appear to be another planet nearby, it even had a ring around it that looked similar to Saturn. Tan was probably the most prominent color that Owlman could see.

He shrugged and turned to the interface device on the QED so he could start the activation process, he knew that the so-called heroes would find a way to follow him. "I wonder if they will send someone worthy enough to fight me? The big guy that looked like Ultraman may be a challenge."

Owlman felt a click on his belt and before he could react, he saw the portal gun that brought him here fly up and into the hands of a young green-skinned man. Well. It was hard to determine his age, but Owlman figured him to be in his late teens. He quickly started the countdown for the QED.

"Nah, if Superman came here, he would stop you rather easily. You could maybe defeat him with lots of prep time and an understanding of his weakness, but no way could you beat him straight up."

Owlman looked on with contempt showing on his face, "You? Is that truly all that was sent to save the multiverse?"

"Well, I suppose if it were a debate, then Devilbat would insist on being the one to come. After all, he isn't the type to put his life in other people's hands when he feels he would suffice. I assume he is very much like you that way."

Logan began fiddling with the control of the portal device as he spoke. "Though if he did come, I bet he would let you monolog and start the QED's detonation sequence and then string you along by letting you kick his ass. Give you all the confidence that you are dominating him in a fight until just before the device was to go off and he would then strike you in an overwhelming manner. Set the portal device and send it to another world where there are no lives to be lost. Then he would somehow tie you to the QED and take solace that you had enough time to stop the bomb if you wanted to. So, if you didn't, then your blood wouldn't be on his hands."

"I imagine that's how it would play out. He would also manage to crush you with the realization that you did indeed make the wrong choices in life in the end, and you would realize how monstrous you would look in the eyes of Martha and Bruce."

Logan flew down and looked at the timer on the screen. "Five seconds, that's enough I figure." He flew up into the air and pushed the button on the portal machine, then placed it on the top of the QED. As it started to phase out, Logan then telekinetically grabbed Owlman and slammed him into the side of the QED. "You really shouldn't have gotten caught up in my monolog. That's how people lose you know."

Owlman and the QED appeared on a planet that looked like it was made of ice. It must have been the version that never made it out of the ice age. That was all Owlman had time to think before the QED went off and the planet was quickly destroyed along with the first form of life to visit it in trillions of years.

Logan watched the QED and Owlman disappear and looked around. "Maybe I could bring my girls here and see if we could find a way to return life to the first Earth. Something to think about later, I guess." He pulled out the portal gun he had stolen from Lex and then went back to the world all this started on.

-(Scene Shift)-

Back on the Crime Syndicate Moonbase, the battle between the heroes and villains was about to start again.

"Well, we ain't dead yet, so get your asses off my moon."

Lex shouted, "What's wrong with you? This was all started by you; it could have ended all life across all worlds! We almost lost everything."

"That was then. Now you're all just a bunch of wannabe cops trying to take us in."

Superman raised a fist, "Going to take you in, you mean."

"Two things: You ain't got the authority and you ain't nearly tough enough."

Suddenly a phantom-like figure that solidified into the Martina Man Hunter appeared after flying through the floor. "I would be happy to rectify those two points for you."

As soon as J'onn finished speaking, the room suddenly had an inrush of men and women wearing astronaut suits with U.N. badges and carrying advanced-looking weaponry. As soon as they entered, they trained their weapons on the members of the Crime Syndicate.

Johnny decided he didn't want to stick around so he tried to make a run for it, but he was stopped when a soldier fired a black-looking mass at the area in front of the speedster and he was suddenly stuck to the floor by his feet, unable to move.

"The President was displeased by the latest attempt on his daughter's life. These are weapons designed for each of your powers, as well as all known powers of your Made Men. Brainiac 2.0 as he calls himself now helped make them all, I do not recommend taking them lightly."

Ultraman was about to start the fight anyway when he felt the draining effect of blue Kryptonite coming from one of the weapons aimed at his head.

Ultraman looked down in disgust and then slowly raised his hands above his head, not daring to give them a reason to use their weapons. All members of the Crime Syndicat followed suit.

"I do not see Logan; did he stay back at the Jet?"

Superman felt Silverflash run behind him to hide, "Umm, about that J'onn."

Happily, Superman didn't get to finish before the person in question appeared out of thin air. Everyone recognized the entry of the portal gun.

"I was able to send the QED to an uninhabited world where it then detonated. Owlman was with it, he will not return."

No one questioned him further, J'onn just walked to him, placed his hand on his shoulder, and nodded his head.

-(The Next Day)-

The members of the Justice League were gathered at the Whitehouse Rose Garden, saying their goodbyes to Lex and Brainiac 2.0. President Wilson was there but he only had his one eye on the conversation taking place between his daughter and the green Martian.

After a short kiss and a single tear that ran down Rose's face, J'onn rejoined the group.

"You sure you don't want to stay J'onn?"

"My place is in our world; without you and the girls I am sure the choice would have been harder, but I am confident it would remain the same."

Logan just placed his hand comfortingly on J'onn's shoulder. "Any ideas on a good place to raise the girls? The concrete and smog of the city just don't seem healthy for them as they grow. I would like to show them the beauty of our planet, gods know they have already seen the ugly, especially Thorn."

J'onn thought for a moment, "There was a very pretty place called Sandpoint Idaho that I visited once, it would be a good start if a little cold in the winter."

Logan thought, "Maybe there during the spring and summer but someplace more tropical during the winter. I will have to speak with Pam about it."

Moments later, the group was returned to their world and after giving their reports to the Watchtower everyone went their own way.

 -(One Week later)-

A beautiful log home that was back in the woods between Sandpoint and Osborne Idaho, showed activity for the first time in a while. Some new folks moved in, and they weren't too popular right away, the town was a little taken back because they were colored folk.

Not the normal colored either, they were green. But they kept to themselves so far, so no one was interested in giving them trouble.

Logan was happy that he found a house Pam liked and they were able to outfit for their needs. The locals would probably cause a bit of trouble, but so long as they weren't pushed too far, they would let the girls come to terms with it.

That evening, Logan was shutting down his computer as he was learning about genes and their impact on the mutations that were becoming more normal every day. Stretching his back, he walked to the door of his office. As soon as he opened it, he was ambushed by his three girls.

Rose, Hazel and even Thorn stood like they had been waiting on him. They all looked about 5 years old now, but their learning curve was closer to 12.

"Mom said dinner won't be ready for about an hour, so you can get through at least one chapter before then right Daddy?" Rose started.

Hazel turned her devastating puppy dog eyes on me and begged "PLeeeeaassee dad!"

Thorn had a disinterested look on her face and was turned away so Logan wouldn't see her face, but there was nothing keeping her in the area but her own wishes, so Logan just smiled and said, "OK girls, but you all know how to read. You could read it by yourselves too.

"But it's so cool when you take their shape dad, you are better than the ones on the television even." Rose assured him.

"Thorn, why don't you go get the book, and remember, we are starting the second one."

"Fine... I will meet you all in the front room."

Logan walked into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water to keep his throat wet as he spoke. Pausing to move Pam's hair so he could place a soft wet kiss on the side of her neck as she was putting the chicken wings on a baking sheet.

He felt her shiver at his kiss and smiled at her before turning to join the girls. Before he left the kitchen, "Don't forget to raise your voice so I can hear it too."

"Yes, Love." Logan told her before quickly giving her another kiss and hurrying to the girls before they became impatient.

He moved to the seat that the girls were crowded around and as he sat in his chair, Thorn handed him the book.

"OK girls, this is the second book in the series, it is called Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."

+ + +

Well, my readers, I have come to the decision to pause this story here for a time. I haven't been as focused on my new duties as I should be, and until I am able to accomplish them on reflex, they should be my priority.

As I made this decision, I also decided to move on to another story to start in my free time. It will be (I bet you all guessed it) a Harry Potter Fan Fic. I think I have improved greatly from the beginning of this story and really want to see how I would do starting fresh. But I do fully intend on returning to this story one day, there is still so much to write.

The Harry Potter will be from Ron Weasley's point of view (Stay patient and keep reading.) if he had caught Dragon Pox and died only to live as a Muggle in a non-magical world where he keeps his memories. Later, as he dies of old age, he is returned with all his memories to his 9-year-old body just after surviving the Dragon Pox.

Before he returns though he is introduced to the Incarnations of Immortality, (Death, Time, Fate, War, Nature, Evil, and Good.) and he learns of the Immortal Chaos who is trying to return from banishment. The school and the books will happen, but Ron will use them as a training ground for his group to help him defeat Chaos later on.

It will definitely be a couple of months before I make any significant progress on it but keep an eye out if it sounds interesting to you. Thanks for reading so far and I hope I haven't disappointed you all too much. See you in time.
