77 Chapter 73: Wednesday/Severus

-Addams' House, Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, New York.

-December 19, 1976

"You said you could sense that I was a witch, didn't you?" Wednesday spoke to Severus with a meaningful look on her face.

"Yes," he just nodded lightly, trying to guess what the young woman might want to ask him.

"What exactly did you feel?" asked Wednesday staring at him as if there was some great secret behind the whole thing which only made Severus think and become even more intrigued by the whole situation.

"Oh..., that's hard to explain but to put it in a nutshell, you have a great connection with..., well magic, one that seems to have been formed and trained for years, but for some reason you're not aware of it, which I admit is rather intriguing," Severus replied.

"But you didn't mention anything about this before, even though you knew there was something strange, you didn't ask any questions..." she said, narrowing her eyes as she looked at him.

"Well, I didn't think it was the right time and I assumed it was something delicate"

"Depends on how you look at it. What would you think if I told you that the soul and spirit of an ancient witch in my family merged with me?" she said suddenly as if it was no big deal.

Severus' eyes went wide at this, he hadn't expected her to say something like that, and to make matters worse her situation was strangely similar to his with Vader/Snape.

"Um..., so are you a combination of the two?" he asked calmly despite the many doubts and questions in his head.

"No, I have no memories or reminiscences of this witch, she only joined me because of certain circumstances and left no trace of consciousness or memories"

"Was it voluntary on the part of this witch?"

"Yes, if she had not done so, I would have died,"

"So she joined you only to prevent you from dying..."

"Yes, that's why I don't want to waste her talent, it would be dishonorable to her memory, at the very least I should make an effort to make use of what she gave me"

"I see..., well, I admit I'm quite surprised with the revelation and as you said, she gave you something very... unique. So tell me, do you want me to teach you how to take advantage of it and make full use of it?"

"Yes" Wednesday replied without even a second thought, it seems she was already convinced.

"Do you understand that you can only do that if you come to Hogwarts?"

"I do, you made it clear enough for even Pugsley to understand" she replied mentioning her younger brother as if he was a bit of a fool.

"Very well, then once you enter Hogwarts you will be my apprentice," nodded Severus.

"Splendid, it's settled!" said Gomez energetically intervening in the conversation that until now had only been between Wednesday and Severus.

"I still think it's ridiculous for her to go to that school where they only teach to one how to use those sticks, but it's your decision Wednesday," said Eudora Addams reluctantly but accepting the situation.

"I am so happy for you my dear," said Morticia smiling at her daughter.

"Oh Cara Mia, don't you think this is the perfect time to start negotiations again between the Princes and the Addams," said Gomez who was getting more and more enthusiastic and happy with Severus' presence.

"That's a wonderful idea, dear," nodded Morticia.

"Lurch prepares the business room, Severus and I are going to renew the business relationships that our families have had in the past for generations!" said Mr. Addams.

The gigantic man who was apparently something like the Addams' butler just groaned and went to what Severus assumed was preparing the business room.

"What do you say, my boy, shall we?" asked Gomez.

Before Severus could answer Wednesday interjected.

"Father, I still have things to discuss with Severus and I'd rather not waste time"

"Uh-Oh yes, sure, you are right my little scorpion, you two can talk privately in your room and when you are finished I will be waiting in the business room," said Gomez Addams with a smile.

Wednesday nodded in agreement with what her father said.

It was then that she stood up from the table and looked at Severus waiting for his confirmation that he also agreed to this arrangement.

Severus shrugged and with a curt nod to the other members of the table, he stood up and then followed Wednesday to her room.

...

Once they both arrived in Wednesday's room she offered Severus a seat and then settled down at her own desk where she used to write.

"I would like to arrange and write down everything I will be doing during this time. Anything you need to know or want to ask me?" was the first thing Wednesday said as she sat down.

"What is your date of birth?" asked Severus lightly.

Wednesday stared at him for a second without saying anything as if she pretended to understand why he required this information before answering.

"October 13th, 1960" she replied finally after realising why he might need to know this.

"Hmm, I see, so you're a fifth year then..." muttered Severus.

"Now, the first thing you should do is start preparing for the Hogwarts entrance exam immediately, it would be best if you enter this year before classes start again so that we can spend the rest of the year training"

"I agree with that," nodded Wednesday.

"Well, your mother also mentioned that you already have some knowledge of some of the Hogwarts subjects.

"Yes..., I have studied quite a bit about the history of the wizarding world and I have always been interested in the study of astronomy so I have considerable knowledge of this, I also learned as much as I could from my grandmother about herbology and potions although my talent pales in comparison to hers in these areas" Wednesday said.

"I have also read about many magical creatures and my mother has instructed me in one way or another in Divination and Arithmancy" she added.

Severus just nodded and looked at her thoughtfully for a few moments.

"For now we will make a list of all the subjects at Hogwarts and according to what you know I will decide if it is enough knowledge to pass the exam.

.....

.....

Once the list was finished, Severus asked Wednesday several questions of all kinds to find out exactly what she knew, and based on that he marked with a Yes in the subjects that she already knew enough to take the exam and enter Hogwarts and with a No in those that she still needed to study.

After doing this, they both looked at the list...

.....

------------------------------------------------

-List of Hogwarts subjects:

-Curriculum:

Potions: Yes

Charms: No

Herbology: Yes

Transfiguration: No

History of Magic: Yes

Defence Against the Dark Arts: No

Astronomy: Yes

-Electives (minimum two):

Study of Ancient Runes: No

Divination: Yes

Arithmancy: Yes

Care of Magical Creatures: No

Muggle Studies: Yes

---------------------------------------------------

.....

"Um, you may already have a good knowledge of most Hogwarts subjects but you still have three curriculum subjects that require you to know theory, spells, and wand movements"

"When do I have to take the exam?" asked Wednesday calmly but her mind was thinking quite a bit about the whole current affair.

"Well, with classes at Hogwarts formally starting on the 10th of January, I'll try to delay the day of the exam as much as possible to give you more time"

"Hmm, maybe I can convince the Ministry to agree to you taking the exam at the last possible moment on the 9th of January when the students are due to return to Hogwarts"

" It won't be that easy, but I know a few wizards who can push hard enough to get them to agree to it," Severus replied in detail, already planning to discuss this with the Greengrass at their meeting on the 21st of December, doing so would be just a small thing for them who have quite a bit of influence within the Ministry of Magic.

And if Prince and Greengrass actually allied themselves it would be no problem for him to make this request, after all, they were the ones most interested in negotiating with him.

"Twenty days..." Wednesday muttered as she narrowed her eyes.

"Yes, it's a tight time," nodded Severus, having heard her perfectly.

"It is, but all I have to do is start as soon as possible and give up a few hours of sleep if I really want to join Hogwarts and learn from you, it's inevitable," commented Wednesday.

Severus looked at her for a few moments and seeing that she seemed convinced to do this despite all the inconveniences he finally decided to give her some extra help, after all, if she got into Hogwarts she would be his future apprentice.

"Here, this will help you get more time, by the time you take your exam you can give it back to me," said Severus handing her a small sand timer.

"This..."

"A Time-Turner, with it you can gain up to ten more hours a day," explained Severus.

"I know what it is, I just didn't expect you to have one, most of them are carefully regulated by authorities all over the world"

"Then you can only be thankful that I'm the one who has one," Severus smiled.

Wednesday stared into his eyes, making their black, cold, piercing eyes stare at each other for a moment until she finally nodded.

"I'll make good use of it," she said sounding almost like a thank you, though she never really said thank you, but from the tone of her voice Severus could tell she was grateful.

"I expect you will"

After that, the two continued to talk about various things until Severus finally went to the business room where Gomez Addams was waiting for him.

...

The negotiations went well, both sides decided to renew the commercial relations between the Prince/Addams and created a new deal that would benefit both families, although Gomez Addams seemed more interested in maintaining a friendly and trusting relationship with Severus than in the benefits he could make with this agreement.

Once Severus had finished talking and negotiating with Mr. Addams, he, at Wednesday's request, went with her to the magical commercial district to get everything she would need to begin her studies for the exam.

Yes, Wednesday didn't want to waste time and the sooner she could have everything the better.

.....

...

-Fifth Avenue, New York, USA

-December 19, 1976

Wednesday and Severus appeared in an alley located on 77th Street at Fifth Avenue.

They both walked to the bottom of the alley until they came to a brick wall blocking the passage.

Severus quickly pulled out his wand and stepped forward while Wednesday just waited patiently in place.

After making a few movements on the wall with his wand, the wall turned into a gigantic door, it looked like a door custom made for trolls to enter.

Above this door was written in golden letters: "Welcome to Magic Fifth Avenue"

After a while, the gigantic door opened by itself, allowing Severus and Wednesday to pass through.

The two wasted no time and passed through the door.

As they entered Magic Fifth Avenue, the first thing they saw was a district full of magical stores selling all kinds of magical items.

Talking mirrors, diaries, floating lanterns, omnioculars, reminders, cards, pen-flyers, rings, pendants, stones, chess, hats, swords, and magic clocks.

Potions, antiques, and magic books.

Magical purses and trunks that can store various things that their owner puts inside them, and that only he can take out of there.

Invisibility cloaks(not like Potter's), flying motorcycles, flying brooms.

There were also many food stores selling all kinds of magical sweets or other foods.

The district was full of wizards and witches of all ages.

Other magical beings could also be seen shopping and strolling through the businesses.

Wednesday and Severus wasted no time and headed to the different shops in the wizarding shopping district where she had to buy everything she needed to start her studies, as well as other things that would help her like a very expensive quick read glasses.

However, money was not an issue for Wednesday Addams, her family was full of money, both muggle and wizarding.
