Who is she talking to?

Masami was in the kitchen when she heard Kazumi say hello to someone.

"Hello?"She heard Kazumi ask.

Although, she couldn't hear what the person on the other side of the phone was saying, she could tell that the person wasn't a really good person because she wasn't getting good vibes from him/her whoever he may be.

But as from the looks of the way Kazumi was talking, Masami was quick to understand that he (as Masami assumed) was one of her buses.

Her run!

Her Sugar Daddy.

Probably he was going to pay her for their event the previous night, Masami couldn't tell, because she wasn't at home through out the whole previous day.

She just shrugged the idea off.

It was none of her business.

It was her friend's life, and she had tried her best to advise her. But she had paid deaf ears to every single thing she had said.

Even when she got back home the previous day, Kazumi was nowhere in sight.

Nowadays, it's not a new thing for Masami that Kazumi wasn't always home and was always on runs, but it was just that she was scared nervous and she cared for her friend.

She was the only scared that her friend might fall into a deep and never come out of it again. But what could she do? She's been trying to speak some sense into that girl's head but she's not been catching up!

She then decided to call it quits.

But No!

Kazumi, is, her best friend and she can't just let her fall in carelessly, she's got to be her light...whether she liked it or not!

Sighing, she picked up a glass plate from one of the shelves while listening to what they were discussing about, and was about filling it with her food when she heard a male voice say;

"Maybe you should check the fact that you're not 'presentable'?"

And then she heard Kazumi mimick him and then say she was broke.

"'Maybe you should check the fact that...' UGHHHH! Why do you have to say that to me right now...? I'm broke!" She blurtedly shrieked.

Masami deliberately dropped the glass plate in her hand, to the floor.

"Ooops! Sorry!" Masami said, claiming ignorance.

Hearing Kazumi grunt, she gripped the sides of the counter, almost uprooting it from it's foundation.

But she had to cool down.

She had a very bad temper and she was trying to control it.

When it came to her best friend (Kazumi), Masami had difficulty taming it. But for the past seven years that they've been living together, she managed to do so.

When the glass item fell to the floor, Masami had deliberately done that to cause a distraction between Kazumi and whoever was on the phone that Masami had assumed and her guess was right, that was her Sugar Daddy.

Murmuring beneath her breath, that Masami knew Kazumi was cussing her, she had bent down to quickly pick up the large pieces of glass and swept the tiny ones away.

After doing so, she peeked out her head to take a look at Kazumi and she didn't intend to make it secret, she actually wanted Kazumi to see her and it worked.

When Kazumi raised up her head, she got the scare of her life and it made Masami laugh.

Her Plan Had Worked!

But when Kazumi started insulting her, she couldn't hold back anymore and began to fire back at her.

She had tolerated that nonsense from Kazumi for a very long time now, seven years, and she hadn't done anything because of the tight bond both of their parents have.

When Masami decided to move out of her parents house, her mother had asked her to ask Kazumi to move in with her. She didn't object, aware of the kind of 'sister-like' relationship her mother had with Kazumi's mother.

Long story short, they both moved in together, had a happy beginning, but after two(2) years, Kazumi began to act oddly. Even the neighbors complained about her these days.

"What is wrong with that girl these days...?!" Masami gently asked herself out of concern.

Remembering that she hadn't had her breakfast, and she had to wash her clothes, including her overall, clean up the kitchen, and also hearing the door open and close and the house still in silence as a result of Kazumi leaving after Masami had creamed her with an impactable insult, Masami sighed and decided to head downstairs, and that's when she heard another lengthy discussion.

*Outside the house*

After Masami had diced her with the insult of her life, Kazumi left the house out of embarrassment.

She was breathing heavily and tried to calm herself as she placed her hand on her chest and began to take deep breaths in and out.

It had taken her about five to seven minutes to calm herself. She almost had almost forgotten what had caused her to run out of the house and calm herself. But when she remembered, she couldn't help herself frowning and gritting her teeth ferociously.

ussing, she said;

"What an idiot of a bitch! I'll show you who is dumb...!" She was cut short by a call she had been expecting for years now (for the past ten minutes)!

Seeing the name displayed on her phone screen, she smiled a bit and then frowned furiously, to make it look like she was really angry with the person she was about to talk to.

(It was a video call)

Instead of saying hello, the person the other side of the phone didn't give her a chance to talk but had burst into an uncontrollable laughter.

She couldn't help smiling, so she asked;

"What's funny?"

Not bothering to answer her, he kept on laughing, the person just kept on laughing.

Getting irritated, she angrily asked.

"What's funny!"

The way she had asked had passerbys to stop and look at her, to make sure she wasn't going crazy.

Noticing their gaze on her she widened her eyes at them and it had then scurrying off in fright.

When she was done with them, she went back to her phone to see that the call had gone off, again!

Sighing and grunting at the same time, she video-called the person back.

Picking up the phone, the person grunted a,

"What!" in an irritated tone.

Mimicking him, she said,

"'What!'"  she also grunted.

"You should really learn how to talk to ladies if you want to succeed in this life you know...!" She added

Frowning, the other person on the other side of the phone asked;

"What do you mean...?" but he was cut short by Kazumi.

"Don't you see how you're answering my phone calls, talking to me, who do you take me for anyway...!" But she was now the one to get cut short.

Barking from the other side of the phone, the person spoke out in sheer annoyance and anger.

"Who do I take you for...?" He asked, anger could be heard in his voice.

Kazumi almost eyed him from her own side of the phone.

"Who do i take you for...?" he asked again with his anger fanning up within him.

"Do you know who I am...?" He asked again.

"Do you know, I have the power to make or destroy you in this country, if I wanted to...?"

"If you don't know who to talk to, I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget and then you'll know who to talk to... You've got to be watching your mouth Kazumi!" The person kept on barking angrily from the other side of the phone

Chuckling and then sighing, Kazumi didn't pay any attention to what the other person on the phone had just said, instead she asked;

"So, what next do I need to do to get her for you...?"

No answer.

"What's the next step?!" she asked again.

Calming his anger and rubbing his temples, but still way furious, he sighed and then thought;

'How is this roommate of hers coping with this girl anyway...?'

'She must really be having a lot of heart-ache and pain having to leave with this girl...! She's Amazing! She really deserves the best...! I really wonder why I'm helping this useless, old and forgotten material against her instead of helping this enemy of hers!'

He thought.

'I'd better change my mind and tactics before this girl drains me of my last breath and precious life...!' He added in his head.

"Asahi...!" Kazumi called his name for the umpteenth time.

"What!" He yelled back at her from the other side of the phone.

"What were you thinking, this is like the tenth time I've called your name, yet you didn't respond until now, what in the f*cking world were you thinking?!" Kazumi yelled.

"I got my mind on other things...! He was cut short by Kazumi.

"Other things that involve me right?" Kazumi asked.

Even though the phone couldn't display her body to the fullest, the guy on the other side of the phone (Asahi), eyed her and that made her angry the more and she frowned.

"What's that supposed to mean...?" She was cut short.

"That's...supposed to mean that you are not to interfere in any of my business because it doesn't concern you!" He said in a firm tone.

"But...!"

"But nothing!" He cut her off.

"I only agreed to help you only because we were friends and also highschool mates....! Even though I was a year older than you, we were still friends!" He added.

Kazumi rolled her eyeballs and crossed her left hand over her chest.

"And don't forget..."

Kazumi turned to look at him.

Not giving her his eye and pretended to be arranging some documents,he said:

"She was also my friend, that was why we were friends, and that's why I dated you...because I thought you were like her, but I think I was wrong, and thankfully, I discovered in time!"

Kazumi's mouth fell agape.

"So you dated me because of...!" She was cut short.

"So... back to what brought us to this extent...!" He said.

"My plan is to give her a high position here with an outstanding pay...she would work here for about three (3) months...!" It was his time to get cut short.

"Why give her that long amount of time...!" She was now cut short.

"Cut me off again and I swear to God I'll kill you...!" He threatened.

Kazumi froze.

"You forget who you're dealing with...!"He added.

Still frozen, Kazumi didn't utter a word, so he continued.

"I want to watch her both from afar and up close...!" He was cut short again.

"What for...?"

Kazumi couldn't help asking.

Exhaling deeply with anger visible, he closed his eyes and gently massaged his temples.

He hated when people cut him short, especially with his new position as boss (not CEO though!), He gained a lot of respect.

But with the way, Kazumi was talking and acting towards him, he felt like he couldn't do anything, because he had been friends and had even dated her just to get to her friend, whom he had unknowingly agreed to eliminate.

He now regretted his actions, but there's nothing he could do, he had agreed to it.

Still deep in thoughts, he spoke unconsciously.

"I want to watch her up close to know what next to do!"

"You know she's a very smart person... smarter than both you and I two thousand times...!" He added.

Kazumi agreed.

"Yeah...!"

Opening his eyes that had been closed, he looked at Kazumi with an eye that had Kazumi shiver.

"So I don't want her to suspect anything that is going on between us...if there's any...!"

Kazumi frowned but kept her mouth shut.

"So when I have her fully...I would then eliminate her...it's that simple...!" He said with ease.

Kazumi smiled and was about to say something, but then she frowned a bit.

*Inside the house*

Watching from inside the house while eating a bowl of cereals filled with milk, Masami heard everything that had been said.

She stopped eating and frowned.

"Who is she talking to and who are they going to eliminate...?" She thought as she asked herself.
