1 Chapter 1 - A New World

I opened my eyes and looked around. Everything looks completely different from Earth.

It wasn't a dream. I screamed in joy, only to hear a high pitched squeal come out instead.

I look down and see that I was placed into the body of a baby. I'm wrapped in a blanket with a note on my chest. I try to get out of the blanket to pick up the note, but my body is too weak to even undo the swaddle. I hear a rustling noise and look to see a woman walking up to me with a clear look of confusion on her face.

She picks me up and reads the note aloud. "This is my child, Raikou. Please look after him." To my surprise, I am able to understand what she is saying. It seems that this new world speaks the same language as that of my previous world.

It seems I have been abandoned by my new parents. Great luck I have... I am basically an orphan in both lives. They couldn't even write more than two sentences on the note. Is it odd that I feel more insulted about that than the abandonment.

I laughed, but some shitty gurgling sound came out instead.

The woman then starts to walk towards a huge church and places me onto a bed. I can hear her explaining my situation to some others.

OH YEAH, all the confusion made me forget that I asked for a system when I came here. Let's see, how do I activate it.

"System activate" I tried to say something along those lines... ALL I HEAR IS SOME STUPID GURGLING SOUNDS COMING OUT OF MY FUCKING MOUTH. Why did I have to be put into a body, couldn't I be put into the body of a trash young master or something.

Anyways, lets try activating it in my mind. "System activate... Activate System... Open System... FUCK YOU, SYSTEM OPEN!"

I was getting annoyed until I heard, "Welcome to the system of all systems, The System!"

After all that self praise, I assumed the AI would've displayed some amazing name. What kind of 'system of all systems' calls itself 'The System', extremely anti-climactic.

Forget all that, let's see. "System, can you tell me all the features available"

"Well master, as the system of all systems, I have the 3 functions as of now. I can display your stats, I can display your skills and last of all I can..."

What the fuck, tell me the rest then.

"Sorry, it seems the system level isn't high enough to display anything else as of yet. You can level up the system after fulfilling certain hidden requirements in the future"

"Ok, for now just show me my stats as I don't have any skills currently:

The stats then appeared in his mind.

Cultivation Level: None (Meridians Sealed)

Strength: 1

Dexterity: 1

Intelligence: 10

Wisdom: 5

Charm: 5

My stats are low as expected, but I am annoyed at how low my charm is. I'm a very sexy individual, even as a baby I should be really cute. This system is absolutely wrong, my charm is atleast 100, for sure.

My intelligence is the highest at 10, this is probably due to my mind being that of a 20 year old. Not counting the year of this body as I technically didn't live that. The 'meridians sealed' part sounds troubling, but it justs shows how much of a badass MC I am going to be in the future. All the novels show some sort of crippling or bad past for the main characters, so this can be considered my induction into the world of cliche badassery.

I hear the door open, which disrupts my thoughts about my new life. From hearing the conversation before, it seems this woman is going to look after me as she 'can't bear the responsibility of leaving a child all alone in the world.'

I have heard the same speeches many times in the past when people came to the orphanage, none of them turned out to be quite so good themselves. Then again, this woman can't be lying as she doesn't know that I can understand her. Her name seems to be Mary, as that is what I could hear the others calling her during the conversation. I like it, I think i'll give her a chance.

Another thing that came as a surprise is that the woman is the priest of the church, she is wearing animal furs and carries a staff. It seems a priest here isn't the same as that from Earth. She doesn't seem too bad though, it's going to be interesting to have a stable home this time.
