CHAPTER 42 - NEVER SEEN ANYONE THIS BEWITCHING.

In the woods, a little girl about a year younger than Lucian was being held tightly in the arm.

"Let go of me! I didn't do anything..." She cried out.

"We never said you did something..." Nate said, amusingly looking at the girl. She was very beautiful. Her long black hair complemented her light tan skin. Her black eyes most especially were bright and filled with brilliance.

The girl finally stopped struggling and took a good look at the two before her. Especially the one grabbing her arm. She was stunned, she had never seen anyone that handsome. Those golden eyes could entrance any soul without struggle. They were so pure and magical. Even as a witch, she had never seen a person that bewitching that she couldn't look away. Although she sensed danger all around him, she simply couldn't look away. The most intriguing thing was that all the magic in her that were initially vigorously alive, had suddenly turned still like the dead. She couldn't use it even if she wanted to.

"Why did you set Roland on fire? " Lucian asked, causing the poor girl to come out of her trance.

Feeling embarrassed and a little scared, she frowned and remembered he was still holding her and that could be the reason her magic had turned still. Who was he? How could he control her magic so easily?

"You're hurting me..." she said and Lucian immediately let go. He was still holding her because he thought she would run. He hadn't realized he had exerted too much strength.

Seeing Lucian's reaction, Nate chortled. His best friend had a knack for women.

"So why did you want to hurt Roland?" Nate asked to get rid of the awkwardness.

Before she could speak, Lucian interjected calmly.

"Don't lie..."

It was just two words, but it felt like an order she could not disobey no matter what. Though she had intended to keep lying, she couldn't anymore.

"Yes, I did. If you want to hand me in, go ahead" she said, acting stoic.

Nate chuckled and interfered.

"No no no... You got us wrong. We are glad you did that. We just have a problem with your accuracy... I mean why was it his garment? His annoying face was plainly in view..." Nate said, looking aggrieved.

Hearing this, the girl was stunned, and seeing Nate's aggrieved expression as if she had been doing them a favor but had not done it well made her feel rather amused.

"I...so you're not here to hand me in??" she asked with skepticism.

"Seriously, we thought we were the only ones he offends. Turns out, he likes to spread his wings in the wrong directions..." Nate responded

"Don't you know us?" Lucian asked and the girl shook her head. She felt a little scared and shy when it came to Lucian. After all, the guy could stop her magic and somehow control her... To add to it, he was so handsome.

"Well if you did, you will know why we wouldn't do something like handing you in..." Lucian said, earning a furrow from the girl.

"Who are you..." she asked. It was a question she had wanted to ask after sensing Lucian was different. She had always been able to tell the different energies in people. Hence, being able to tell the race to which they come from. However, for this handsome guy in front of her, she had nothing more than the feeling of intimidation.

"Really! You haven't heard of us? Specifically this guy?..." Nate asked with a surprised look and pointed at Lucian.

"Err...am I supposed to?? Okay, who are you guys..." She asked, her eyes still looking skeptically at the boys before her.

"You wouldn't want to know... So why were you trying to hurt Roland? Am asking out of curiosity not out of concern..." Lucian said.

Again, she couldn't stop herself from wanting to answer his question. So she answered anyway...

"Well... He hurt my brother... So I wanted to teach him a little lesson..." She said, trying to make a hateful expression that ended up making her look cute.

Nate chuckled. "Who's your brother? He's very lucky to have such a vengeful sister..."

"Wait...was he the one sparing with Roland??" Lucian asked

"Yhh... He's called Darian. Our grandmother made him join their training a few days ago. But every time he came back, he had bruises all over. Initially, I thought it might be because of the training, and besides he never complained. I found out later that he was only being bullied after sneakily following him. And it was that guy specifically. So I wanted to teach him a lesson today..." She ranted

"So, what are you? A sorcerer? " Lucian asked, narrowing his eyes.

"No, a witch... Wait, you know about sorcerers? Are you one?" She asked wide-eyed.

"No... " Lucian said simply.

Hearing this, she sighed like she was scared the answer would be yes.

Looking at her reaction, Nate narrowed his eyes and asked.

"What is wrong with sorcerers? "

"My grandmother said they can be

dangerous. They are initially humans that have almost been turned half demons. They become normal when they stop practicing, but can become like demons when they start... They are the nemesis of witches... We are born, but they are made. And can sometimes become more powerful than us..." She explained

"Ooh..." Nate and Lucian both responded at the same time.

"But I hear there can be good ones..." she added

"Yhh...there should be," Lucian responded with a wry smile.

"So, am Diana. You are..."

"Am Nate and he's little god..." Nate answered with a grin

"It's Lucian... Don't mind him..." Lucian corrected and sat on a log with Nate joining him.

"Ooh... But, are you like some kind of god or something? Your eyes and aura are different. Also...I...I can't seem to see through you..." She asked and sat opposite them. She fidgeted a little but kept staring at Lucian. There was something about him that was so different. It felt calm but at the same time dangerous.

"No..."

"Yes..."

"Nate!"

"What??"

Diana giggled. The two were very funny, especially the Nate guy who seemed easy to talk to.

"Heyy Diana, back there, it looked like you were trying to hide your aura. Do you train?
