ALTERNIVERSE: Chapter eight

The news of Retrospects and She-wolf's capture spread like wildfire throughout the country. People all over the world are rejoicing in knowing that a highly dangerous psychopath and Transmuter's right hand man are behind bars. The heads of the Hero Organization can celebrate to some degree having caught someone they've been after for years though at a cost of B.A.D's freedom. The former hero was sent off to Lumer city's meta holding facility and sectioned off from the rest of the inmates for his protection.

Looking at the TV while flipping through news stations, Transmuter and his crew watches on. Seething with rage as all he sees is videos of Retrospect being taken away. He slowly puts the remote to his side, resting his arm on the armrest of his chair. In a fit of rage, Transmuter grits his teeth as red electricity sparks in his hand. The remote he held in his hand simply shatters into pieces so small that it blows away like dust.

Shadow-like energy begins emanating from Transmuter as he turns to Madam Vogue. His blood red eyes piercing through the darkness that is his body. "How did this happen?" 

Madam Vogue, too afraid to meet his gaze, looks down to the floor. "It was B.A.D, sir. He sold us out and informed the other heroes of our plan."

"So that useless hero finally grew some balls and told the suits about our arrangement, huh?" Transmuter says walking over to Vogue. "And you're the only one to actually manage to escape being caught. How?"

Vogue becomes visibly hesitant hearing the question. "When Meta-humans first started showing up and I began exhibiting abilities, the government of my home country took me in. They experimented with my powers and found out I could manipulate other beings with just my voice if I concentrated enough. Though fearing that I'd revolt against them they put a mental block in mind to only use it on animals."

"I see. So fighting Amethyst pushed you to the edge to where that mental block broke… Interesting yet delightful." Transmuter pats Vogue's shoulder. "Well done on making it back."

Yinyang subtly coughs to get everyone's attention. "So what do we do now?"

"We continue as planned, Retro will have to sit tight for now."

"What about B.A.D?" El Tempo asks. "He needs to pay for betraying us."

"And he will. I'm a man of my word, I told him if he tried to get in my way I'll take everything from him."

"How do you plan on doing that? His family is being protected by the police and heroes." Osiris curiously asks him.

"Hmph… I have a plan, but I'm not the one who will do it." The rest of the group looks confused at his statement. "Keyshawn, you're up." 

Keyshawn grows a wicked smile. "About time you had me do something fun. What do you want me to do?"

"I want you to bring me the rats family here, alive." Keyshawns smile goes away. "But feel free to kill whoever you want in the process." And Keyshawns smile came back as quickly it left. 

"Awesome, who's goose guarding the family anyways?" 

"I'll check." El tempo rushes to the computer's main controller. "With Mr. Rocklind giving us access to their mainframe, getting information is a breeze." He quickly pulls up four pictures of the heroes assigned to security. "Electrified, Zero, Alpha Moon and The Phonz."

Transmuter looks at the screen, closely. "Electrified, Alpha Moon and The Phonz should be easy enough to handle…" he taps on the picture of Zero. "But that Zero kid can manipulate gravity via electrical distortion. He could actually pose a challenge for you." 

Keyshawn jokingly scoffs. "Are you doubting my abilities?" 

"Of course not. I, for one, know just how powerful you are. Just to be on the safe side I'll have Osiris accompany you."

"What!?" Both yell out at the same time though Keyshawns tone has a bit of disappointment as Osiris' tone is full of glee. 

"You gotta be kidding me! I can handle this alone! I can wipe out an entire city if I wanted to! Why do I need some crazy woman as back up!" 

"First off; watch your tone with me." Keyshawn quickly backs down from him. "Secondly; this isn't up for debate. You have been out of the game for a while so let me remind you that around here my word is law. She's going with you and that's final, understand?"

Keyshawn nods in agreement "I understand, I'm sorry." 

"Good. As for Vogue and Everchange you two will be with Rocklind for the time being. He's in the final stages of his project. You two will be there to… coerce him to tweak his machine in my favor. Gyro, Yinyang and Tempo you will be overseeing your own groups of villains we have in our ranks."

Yinyang raises her hand slightly. "What will you do in the meantime if you don't mind me asking?" 

"Osiris and Keyshawn will be bringing back guests, no? As the host, I should make sure the place looks presentable."

...

The Phonz walks out of a house with Jason, Ben's father, and a few other cops. The family is being escorted into an armored truck.

"Is all this really necessary? I mean why can't we just stay here?" Jason asks aloud

The Phonz steps up to him. "Sir, this was a request from B.A.D as an exchange to help capture Transmuters underlings. And yes, this is all necessary since you've been threatened by the most dangerous man on the planet."

"If that's the case than we're as good as dead."

"That won't happen, I promise you that. We got an entire swat force with the aide of four super heroes. You have nothing to worry about." These words reassures Jason's trust in them and steps onto the armored truck.

In the truck behind them, Alpha Moon sits in awkward silence as Electrified stares down Zero who is trying hard not look at the scowling Hero.

"Ok, I'm going to say it. Do you you two have beef of something?" Alpha Moon says, breaking the silence.

Zero just shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know. He's been angry towards since we first met. during the city raid."

"You really don't remember, do you?" Zero shakes his head no. "Of course you don't, why would you."

"If you have beef with me just say so already!" Zero says loudly at him.

Electrifieds hands spark a little as he clenched his fists. "I'll say something but it won't be with my mouth!"

Alpha Moon faces palms himself hearing the argument between them. "This family is doomed."
