Meeting my stepmother

The queen did not lose her composure yet. She was good with her royal mannerisms. A soft smile appeared on her lips, "Certainly, Hailey. I was rather looking forward to meeting with Selene after she ran away from me." She made a sad expression while getting on both mine and Hailey's nerves. 

Before Hailey could be offended by the fact that the queen did not call by any title, I spoke up in a timid tone, "I did not mean to run away. Worry not mother I have been doing the task you assigned to me well." 

"But you failed the conditions," she immediately spoke with a smile on her face.
