Chapter 81: Beautiful Morning

~Dream~

"They're here... Keep your eyes out... If you die you will be sent back to the future and returning back would take a really long time..." I warned them

"Roger that... Have you found the first target?" Kaden had asked curiously

"Yes... Target one is running by me... Target 5 and 6 will come out soon" I had announced

We have ten targets and the main one is to be protected. That being me. If I die in the past I will vanish and the mission will never be finished. I am the one with the memory so we must follow it as planned. Before it is all changed and we get sucked back. Luckily we still have the memory eraser capsules. We are not to leave any evidence of us here. Capsules have it until we are timed in. So four months of memory wiped. I groaned out annoyed but someone bumps with me.

I turn to look and my eyes wide open. Professor Marzan. I always joked at him being that his name rhymes with Tarzan. He stares at me confused but the moment he had looked away. I jumped upwards and so did Scot. The Professor looked around confused as he had his glasses on. I swallowed hard and just stared at him chase Michael. Michael has always been the trouble student but he is not target. But is suggested by a few.

But I wouldn't because he dies a month before we graduated from ninth grade. Basically a year later. Middle School was hard for me even more for Veronica who got bullied basically everyday. I was the strong one and I protected her from everything. This school had three floors so if I am correct and if my memory serves me right. Veronica and me are by the second floor searching for Alexander and Roxanne. More people the better to play.

Every teacher and parent did not like how we still acted like children. But we were barely in seventh grade. Our next grade was in five months and even before we could even finish summer vacation that is when Veronica exploded in anger. Her parents had a giant argument with her and they didn't want her to be my friend anymore. I was being cast out by every parent as I was a trouble child. Abandoned so I had to raise myself.

Steal for food. I would shower at the baseball park the school owns. It has a shower inside so I was able to break the latch and knowing the school they are super lazy to fix it. I would shower there every night. I think only Miss Rosario found out about it. She did her best to get me help but I escaped every time. Social Services never got a hold of me. Nobody knew my hideout anyways.

"Agent S... I see target 9 heading your way" my whole body turn around in seconds

My heart was beating rapidly as I saw the goddess of the school. Miss Rosario. She is one of our targets being that nobody ever found her remains and not even the future's super advanced technology had found her remains. There were signs that she was alive but I didn't understand it. My heart twist and turn at the sight of her. She usually leaves around this time around but I wanted to hear her voice.

I looked at Scot who denied with his head but I ignored him. I had climbed down the tree normally so nobody would get scared. No children. Not any adult. But luckily nobody is looking this way so I climbed down quickly. She had given a notebook to Ashley and congratulated her in her grades. I swallowed hard and I did my best not to cry. She had started walking again and I sat down at the edge of the square. They had made a cement square when this school was built. They use it for the tree so it's roots cannot break the walls of the school.

Every step she took was so slow and all I wanted to do was stand up and just hug her tightly. Thank her for everything she has done for me. Thank her for all the things she did when everybody thought I was some kind of monster. I gulped and just saw her as she walked slowly if I am correct she is heading home.

This was the day I last saw her. I saw my small self run to her with a piece of paper in hands. It was a small card. She had accepted it gladly. Usually she would give me money for me to buy food when alone but today she hadn't. When my small self ran off before being found out in the open by Veronica's friends. She had started walking out towards the exit.

I had gotten out of the square in front of her. She panicked and she had her phone in hand for the ready. I rose my hand in surrender in panic and it was an instinct that I learned when small. She looks at me confused and I just lowered my hands and smiled.

"It has been a while... Miss Rosario" I had commented with a big smile

"Do I know you?" she asked me curiously as she scanned my face

I looked at her with gentle eyes and spoke "You basically saved me when I was young... I never had the chance to thank you"

She looks at me confused "I apologize maybe you have the wrong person"

I opened my mouth for a bit but I then shut it. I had looked down afraid and I felt broken. I can't tell her. I don't have the heart to tell her about the future. She kept her eyes on me as she did her best not to call anyone. When she doesn't know who the person is she would call security in seconds.

"What is your name?" her gentle voice echoed in my head

I took a few steps back and spoke "Sorry... But I cannot tell you... It is classified"

She looks at me even more confused "You look like someone... But you couldn't be..."

I started to panic but the moment she turned around from the voice of another professor I jumped up in seconds. I pressed the invisibility button as I wanted to keep an eye on her. She vanished this day so I should send Vladimir to follow her. Something happened and it is a connection to all this madness. All I am hoping she is not the cause of all this. Scot is angry at me but the moment the bell rang for the end of school. We noticed all the Targets. From 1 to 10. Subject A. Subject D. Subject Z. Were also seen.

In some odd way I noticed Kaden. Vladimir. Scot. When they were young. They were all with me in the same school. How did I not remember them? I felt shocked at the sight of them as they were all best friends. But what happened to them? Why do they act as if they don't know each other? I looked at Scot as he glared at the small group. We waited for the school to empty and that's when Vladimir placed the barrier to make us look invisible.

We all landed in the front and I just got close to the gate. I noticed my small self look around to then run towards the candy store before it closes. The gate was locked but they couldn't see us anyways. I turn to look at my own group. They all hadn't looked at each other.

"The rest of the team should be arriving soon... We should prepare a base for them..." I announced

"Yes ma'am" all three answered

"Vladimir I have a task for you" I had spoken

Scot and Kaden had vanished and went to the top of the school to place "What would be my order ma'am?"

"Follow the woman I spoke with a few minutes ago... I at least want to know how she vanished... Hurry" I ordered as I looked down holding back the tears

"You are not suppose to be here" Vladimir and I froze at the small voice

I turn around and was faced with my younger self "Sorry sweetie but... We were contracted to do a check up on all the bathroom"

"Mommy always told me to never lie" she says as she points to my face

A red light had been presented in front of her and I say "Oh sweetie... It is no lie would you like something to eat?"

She tried to protest but her stomach growled with hunger it made a giggle come out of me "Are you offering?"

"Little rascal..." I had joked "McDonalds?"

Her small eyes wide open with excitement and so I touched her back as I placed a tracker on her skin. She won't feel it but I will know if I am ok. If I have a racing heart. If I am in trouble. I must survive. Both past and future. I know they are trying to target me know. I know Veronica wouldn't want to hurt me when young but manipulate her young self to earn more power.

But I cannot do anything as I am not welcomed to her home. Not even adults are welcomed much. Kaden would need to act as some kind of new neighbor to gain their trust. I placed my ear piece on and so did Vladimir. He knows what I am doing. I yawned a bit as I haven't slept in a while and I need food I still taste ramen. I might eat McDonalds. I am in the past thirty years before they had changed their meats to something nasty.

I was wondering how I could do this for so many years. Kill enemies but then be treated like shit because I was too soft with the enemy or that I never noticed that the supposed captured is also an enemy. Veronica knew that but at times the captured were really innocent. The only ones that she never killed where children or pregnant women. Enemy or not. I looked around a bit nostalgic. So the camera I had on I pressed the button to record. I will place it in the bunker I want to make.

I should take this chance and just look around when Scot or Kaden watches my young self. Vladimir has many tasks to do but not Scot and Kaden. I need to know who else was sent back to the past. I know it couldn't be just us. I know someone else is missing. If there really is a fourth one than we know who is a traitor. As we are only a team of four. Veronica wouldn't send an extra just to help us change the future for a good cause.

I sighed out as I just felt the hunger start to take over. I looked at my young self. My hair is a mess but I always did my best to pick out the piece of dried grass or not to smell of dirt. I inhaled deeply as I walked to her with a gentle pace.

~Back to Reality~

I slowly opened my eyes as I completely expected to see the dark roof of Luke's bedroom but all I saw was glints of sun light from the cracks on the wooden roof. Slowly remembering I am in a hut by the beach. I covered my eyes slightly as the gleaming light was on my eyes. Waking up to this is amazing but sensitive eyes don't work with that. I slowly sat up and the door opens up so I looked towards the door while covering myself. Luke had walked in with a tray in hand. It made me smile gently and it is so adorable of him. I smiled gently as he slowly closes the door while balancing what he has on hand.

He looks up and smiles at me widely as he sees me wide awake. I felt completely happy about all of this. Having such moments with him. I know Scarlet has her own Hut around here but I don't know where it is. I just hope she is ok. Sarah had gone back to the pack with Oliver and a few others. I know some stayed behind but everyone else had gone as they had gotten pretty drunk. I know I didn't drink as I wanted to just have fun.

"Good Morning beautiful" he tells me as he places the tray of food on my lap

I felt completely happy about all of this and all I needed was food and so I say "Good Morning to you as well... Thank you for the food"

He kneels on the floor as he crosses his arm resting his head on them as he stares at me while talking "Oh no need to thank me... You deserve so much my beautiful mate"

I felt my face heat up at his words.

This man will drive me crazy.
