Chapter 54: Hunters History

I was sat down in a chair in the library as Kassandra hands me a book with the Hunters backstory and how they began. She made sure to use her little bit of magic to restore the pages. It is so old. The demon won't give his name to us yet with fear of his master finding out and punishing him. Under contract he is able to feel all pains and it is duplicated. Just to enforce the servants loyalty. But this demon broken his loyalty for a quick moment just to help us. Luke had gone to schedule a meeting with the King. With Vincent. As well as Jeremy. Those three a trust at the moment. I saw no evil in their eyes.

I am human and they defended me. Jeremy didn't even know I was Luke's mate until I told him. But he still acted kind of weird with him as he is completely bipolar. So confusing. Males are always going to be confusing. I haven't seen Scarlet yet. I miss that woman's face. Who is Aria though? She said she was in a coma a while back. Kassandra had decided to leave me alone as I needed time to read this in pure silence and I think she wanted to explore her newfound body with the little time she has. So food. So drinks. Games. Hugs. Everything she really wants. She even cuddled with me for a while and she even fell asleep. She finally experienced a sleep after so long being dead.

I was given a new phone with everything. They were able to recover everything except the game process. But they sent my other phone to be fixed. Have it as a decoy just in case. If they actually placed a tracker or some virus. Oliver is standing at the door if I am correct. Jonathan is being forced to rest in the medical wing as some of his wounds had gotten infected for running too much in the forest. I grabbed my new phone and sent a message to Ashton. To bring me some Chinese food.

-Ashton- What would you want from the Chinese place?

-Me- Chicken Fried Rice with red sauced boneless wings and eggrolls

-Ashton- Anything else?

-Me- Coca Cola for a drink and fries please

-Ashton- XD You act like a child at times

-Me- I am in the library if anything and make sure to bring extra boneless ribs with red sauce and if they have yellow plantains please and thank you

-Ashton- XD Yes your majesty

-Me- I hate you at times

-Ashton- Oh you like me don't deny it

-Me- As a brother maybe

-Ashton- That's better in my books

I rolled my eyes at his idiocy. Now that I am thinking about it. I haven't even met Ashton's mate. I don't even know if he has kids. I haven't seen his with any children. He is always beside Luke or just nowhere to be seen. So I haven't met his mate yet. Or Jonathan's mate. Does Oliver have a mate? I need to meet everyone in this pack. So much I need to learn. I opened the book as I placed the phone down.

~Hunters History~

-Day One of hunting for my son Alarec. His hunting style is still poor. I already knew how to hunt before the age of twelve. He better get this boar. Or he will miss dinner again tonight. Alarec was looking around in panic. He is such a child at times. But I should have seen why he was completely panicked. Alarec's hunting turned into something totally different. His arrow had pierced a wolves body. The boar running away. We saw this giant wolf stumble to the floor. All my child do was scream in utter fear. Utter shock. He didn't know what he just killed. In the end he passed out.

As I am writing this I myself feel completely confused to what I had seen. The wolf had changed from being a giant wolf to the body of a man. A man who I have seen and have spoken with my entire life. He had turned into a monster and now he had his own human body. The arrow stuck to his ribs. I saw how my own friend is now dead. But I did not feel any fear. Seeing the smoke emitting from his ribs as the arrow had sink in a bit deeper.

My child had fainted as he saw the amount of blood coming out of his wound and it was making even myself to feel sick. I wanted to vomit as the smell was revolting. I needed to remove the arrow and once removed I saw how the silver point melted the blood away. Burning it. In a way I felt completely fascinating. Even now I just left his body laying there so the elements can get to him. But I had mounted the arrow on the wall just to remember my old friend. Should I have taken a piece of him.

Maybe I shouldn't do that. Maybe I am just hallucinating. I shall ask my child once he awakens.

-Day Two of hunting my son had told me that he accidentally shot my friend as he had jumped from the bushes with something in the mouth. That he was already naked. That my child did not mean to shoot him but it slipped from his fingertips as he got startled by the man. Even more being naked. Later on when I went to the village to get more arrows I heard people whispering about some weird smell going around in the city. Some people were hallucinating or running around naked. People were really confused. They thought it was because of some type of poison.

A man in a horse had appeared and he looked at all of us. Looking down to be more precise. He looks like a wealthy man. Then he just rode off. He was carrying some odd bag and it was releasing the same smell I had yesterday. But I ignored it thinking it is just something people are saying. I went to the blacksmith to get more arrows to go hunting. We need food. Winter is coming and without meat and salt we will get sick. We'll have to go deep into the woods this time. See if we can get a buck. Get to the beach and get some beach water. We need to extract salt before the day ends. Enough salt to protect the meat through the winter. This will get annoying very quickly the snow has gotten worse and I can't understand the reason why it has been snowing more and more.

I had taken my oldest this time as the youngest is still startled for killing another person. My woman does not accept with killing another and wanting to take him out hunting after what had happened. Sadly if I make one move on my woman her brother will come and remove my penis. One day I will give him a piece of my mind.

-Day three of hunting. Eldest was able to get me a big buck. Very strong very big. Woman and daughter had gone to get the sea water to be able to extract the salt. I must go later on to extract it right there as we need a lot. All female arms are weak and cannot hold much of salt or sea water. The town clerk has not received the amount of salt. The King has been holding on supplies and it has been very annoying for the rest of the people. Today I was able to also take my youngest to hunt and he was able to get a rabbit this time.

Leather is good. It can help get some materials ready for the next hunt. Alarec needs to grow up and man up if he wants to survive.

~Back to Reality~

"You still in the beginning of this thing..." I hear Ashton speak

I looked up from the book and I explain gently "I don't think this is a book... It's a journal... Of a man... I haven't heard of the name yet... But he mentions his child Alarec a lot"

"Alarec... I feel like I heard of that name before..." Ashton says as he looks to the roof

"Maybe the first hunter?" I asked the smell of Chinese food close to my senses

"Maybe... I'll see if I can find you one of the older journals..." Ashton says gently

I looked at the bag and I asked "May I have my food?"

"Oh... Sorry I just got deep in thought" Ashton says as he hands the bag to me

I placed the book down and just started to open the bag gently. I can feel the heat of it radiating from it. Delicious food. I have been wanting this for a while now. I am curious at how the children are. Did they make it safe and sound to their homes? Were they recaptured? Did they get hurt? I just hope they are ok and have made it safely. Wait. Maybe Kassandra can tell me if they made it safely. Though I have to wait until she is returned from her exploring.

Will the hunters find out I have all their information?
