The lunch visit

(Hy, lovely readers!🥳 I hope you are enjoying the book? Please do well to drop your comments below. It would mean a lot to me☘️🥤📚💞💐❤️🥺)

The drive back home was the quietest Dee has yet to experience in her life. Each person was immersed in their thought over what happened back at the restaurant especially, Andrè who was working hard to infer why he was having an alien feeling over the woman anchored close to him. In his thirty years, the closest he has come to love a woman was in college and that ended fatally as they both found out they were just infatuated with each other and nothing serious.

Since then, he had trodden on cautious waters, not wanting to go through that process anymore until he was ready to settle- which he was never ready anyway.

Dating Mandy had been the hardest task of his life. He had only endured the relationship, because her father was his major client and because she was a good fuck. The moment he moved past the dependence stage in his company, he had gotten rid of her which is why he knows she was blowing up unnecessary lies to get back at him.

When they reached her apartment, Dee was about to jump off the car but he grabbed her back and kissed her a good night. Hopefully, she would dream of him that night. By the time Dee finished reeling from the kiss and recovered, she turned to go in and nearly fainted from hysteria.

"I saw that!" Chloe screamed, pulling her out of the car. Andrè was smiling at her vociferous friend and only pulled away when the door of their apartment shut.

"Start talking... I saw that. For someone who threw tantrums halfway out the door earlier this evening, you truly enjoyed yourself!" Dee's amused face crumpled at her friend's demands. "

"Chloe, can we not do this till tomorrow morning? I'm dizzy and need sleep," she whined, moving toward her room which Chloe followed her to, insisting she feed her the gist of what happened. How can someone be this nosy? Dee thought in amusement.

"Chloe, I think you need serious help. If you would do all these solely to know what happened between Andrè and me..." Dee quilled, shaking her head.

She went to take her bath after which she told Chloe everything that happened."Now, I am confused. How am I supposed to look at him when I get to work? I don't want this dalliance with him, Chloe, I know what am saying." she whined, wrapping the bedcover around her, with Chloe who was nuzzled beside her.

"I think you should give him a chance, Dee. You may never know what would come out of it. Don't just judge him from his past experiences. As you said, maybe something might have propelled him to do all those things. I for one understand," she clamored, wrapping her hands around Dee.

"Chloe, would you let me sleep this night, or am I going to baby you too?" forged Dee objectively.

"Stop acting like some granny and hold me," Chloe whined, her eyes drooping. Dee held her and just like that, they slept off.

The shrilling of the alarm woke Dee up and she reached out to slam the damn piggy alarm shut. She rubbed her eyes and exited the bed. Pushing the covers over Chloe who wasn't moved one bit by the alarm. Most times Dee wonders how she makes it early to work, being such a heavy sleeper. She pulled the curtain down, knowing the light would surely wake her up and that did the trick.

"The fuck! Close the damn curtain, Dee!" she shrieked, pulling the white fluffy covers over her eyes.

"Wake up, Chloe, it's morning and workday." she inferred and moved out of the room. She went to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast of sweet potato and chicken stew. She brewed some coffee which she sat in the dining to sip, grateful that she wouldn't be going to the Lukas mansion that day at least she had enough time to recover from the scene with Andrè.

By the time she gets to work on Friday, if she sees him and he makes any move on her, she is going to make sure she made him understand that what they did was a mistake that should be avoided in the future for the sake of her job. She didn't want to mix business with pleasure or allow her personal feeling to mix up with her professional decisions.

The door to the room opened and Chloe came out of the room with her eyes still drooping as if she didn't have enough sleep in the night. She still has her bonnet on, making her look very comical.

"What are you making?" she grumbled to Dee, moving into the kitchen to emerge with her cup of coffee and as usual went to the television to do God knows what.

" Chloe, have you finished the publication in the mines?" Dee inquired, suddenly remembering the project Chloe told her she was embarking on.

"I am still to be granted an interview with the bull-faced secretary to the president. She keeps hiking around the globe, so here I am waiting patiently until she settles then I would get what I want," she mumbled from the couch enthralled with what she was watching.

"What resources did you get from Champion?"

"Champion? Dee, this is my publication. I do not need any resources from Champion. I want to run it independently, so if it works fine, and if it doesn't, still good, at least I tried," she said, dropping the cup on the table.

"If you need anything, let me know anyways," Dee intoned, finishing off her coffee.

"I will keep that in mind."

The day drifted by in a haze with diverse activities that took place in the company. She had run some research on Andrè's company to realize he was among his father's top competitors in America. She was intrigued.

When she had decided to run the research. She hadn't expected to meet with that piece of information. She kept thinking about him throughout the day. Her mind would often drift to their night quagmire. She found herself having erotic thoughts of how it would feel to have him inside of her with her writhing beneath him. She would shake off the thought but then she would soon drift off again. She thought about how he had trailed his lips on her collarbone and how he had suckled at her neck like he was some dark vampire while she was at his mercy.

"Dee!"

Deandra jumped on her seat and looked at Chloe who had a humorous look on her face. She was funnily wriggling her brows the way she did when she had something naughty up her sleeves. "What is it, Chloe?" she inquired, having a mind to burst her ears.

"Look," Chloe pointed towards their boss's office where the object of her day's misery stood shaking hands with her boss who looked so sublime responding to everything the larger male was telling him. Standing over there, his domineering aura saturated the air.

Her eyes were lost in the way he smiled softly, his white dentition sparkling in the afternoon light. His eyes twinkled, making it look like he was a transformer. The dimple on his cheek was very evident now as his face widened in a grin before he shook hands with Timothy again before turning to her, their eyes met and he ambled towards her. Her heartbeat increased as he came closer, his pleated navy blue suit hugging his body like a dual skin. The way the suit fit him put to shame every other male out there. Her eyes trailed down to his shining black shoe.

He cleared his throat to get her attention and she swallowed and looked up.

"Hy," she said.

"Hey,"

"What are you doing here?" she asked sheepishly.

"I thought business happened here? Or, is here for a particular set of people?" he asked in malfeasance.

She puffs out and smiled, waving off her initial question. Now just because they kissed she was getting things into her head. Of course, he could go anywhere he wanted.

"Never mind." she waved away her question.

"I'm here to pick you up for lunch. So, can we?" he said, maintaining an expressionless feature.

"I have a lot of work to do... Why didn't you ask first? You can't just waltz and whisk me out of my workplace because you think you can," she protested.

"Deandra, don't make us cause an unnecessary scene, we have talked about this. Just save us the trouble and please go out for lunch with me. There you have it." he eyed her. Chloe reached down and kicked her.

"Ouch! Chloe!" Dee shrilled.

"What?! You ain't even doing anything," Chloe said in a hushed tone, looking into her system that she didn't notice the bad eye that Dee shot at her.

"Fine!" she grumbled and stood and picked up her bag. He picked up her hand heading towards the elevator while Chloe danced about in her cubicle. The other workers kept gushing over seeing him.

The minute the elevator started moving, he pulled her into his chest, and before she could relate he captured her mouth in a slow kiss. Her protest died in her mouth. She moaned out and hugged her arm around his neck, grinding his lips with hers and pouring out all the frustrations she has been feeling throughout the day over the thought of him.

The elevator stopped and they pulled away from each other. Dee's composed carriage was in disarray. She looked away as they walked out of the elevator and headed outside. A silver Chevrolet pulled up in front of them. He opened the door for her to enter and then he joined her.

"How is your day going?" he asked, eyeing her up. She shuddered from his dark perusal and mouthed it had been fine. And without her asking him, he told her he has been thinking about her and wasn't able to concentrate on his work which was why he decided to come and see her.

"But I didn't see you when you passed. Chloe and I get first-hand knowledge of everyone that enters Timothy's office," she voiced.

"Well maybe because you two were so immersed in whatever gossip you were having that you didn't see me pass." he shrugged and hugged her close, kissing her hair. Deandra's mind was all over the place, perplexed by how fast things were cascading out of hand.

What if this escalated? What would she do when her heart starts taking this seriously? Especially with a man like this who has less regard for the feelings of women...
