Chapter 34

-Anastasia’s POV-

My heart skipped a beat when I heard Ajax bust in and yell at Aiden. God knew why I felt guilty about what happened between Aiden and me when my brother showed up.

Aiden straightened up with his lips pursed. He looked not happy about Ajax’s coming in without his permission.

“What’s wrong?” Aiden asked.

Ajax’s face went blank for a second when he noticed what Aiden and I were doing, but then he returned to normal.

“The Elders. They are coming this way.”

I dropped my eyes and saw Aiden’s fists clenched. Apparently, the Elders were not welcome here.

I was reminded of who the Elders were when Farisa’s words popped out in my mind.

The thought of Stacy made me frown at the so-called committee members.

I didn’t have expectations for them since one of them had brought up a bitch.
