Chapter 127

The holidays weren't as terrible as Henri had been expecting them to be but he was glad when they rolled to an end. It was the night before resumption and his luggage was already packed up, complete with a new set of uniforms.

He just had dinner with his parents, his mother seemed to handle his leaving better this time because she was less fussy than she was during his first year.

He was back in his chambers now and a little too excited to get any sleep although his mother had cautioned him to get enough rest as they would be starting out early the next day.

She had also worn down his father's excuses and finally convinced him to accompany Henri and her to the academy, so Henri could already guess how that would go.

A brief knock on the doors to his bedroom made him sit up on his bed and glance in that direction, rising to his feet when the doors were opened without his permission.
