1 Finally Back Home

At the dawn when light finally appeared in the sky after dark, a woman in her mid-twenties looked at the sky and sighed in relief. Breathing the fresh air, she held her denim jacket in one hand and got up from the ground. Her emerald eyes looked around as if she was scanning or searching for something important to her. A few drops of tears appeared in her eyes, making her eyes numb as she breathed again, looking through the vast forest and big trees.

"This is it Liz, this is it", the woman said to herself before vanishing into the shadows.

***********

A figure lurking in the shadow moved so fast it felt like a blur. The trees, grass, leaves and wind, everything surrounding the forest seemed to either fear or love that unknown figure. The animals of the forest were already in their home, hiding from that figure, as their instinct told them, facing that figure was equal to facing death itself. Searching for something to quench the thirst, the figure still moved relentlessly until a gust of wind blew, and a sweet scent caught its nose. The scent was so alluring and delicious that it forced the figure to move in the direction of the wind.

Jumping from one tree to another with eyes fixated on the ground of the forest, the figure moved to find the source of the mouth-watering scent. With another gust of wind, the dark black hair of the figure danced as it spotted the source of the scent. Looking closely, the figure scoffed and smiled, thinking how correct she was about the source of the scent. Deciding to quench the thirst, the figure slowly descended from the trees without making any noise. When the feet of the figure touched the ground and the light of the sky fell on it, the unknown, mysterious figure was revealed to be a woman, a woman whose beauty was beyond this world.

Her long black hair went all the way down to her knees, her emerald-green eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Her oval face shimmered as the rays of light fell on it, giving it an angelic look. Gulping a pool of her saliva, the woman stepped forward and the ground beneath her looked like it had started dancing. Her legs moved in an elegant way as she walked graciously.

"As I thought, the youth of the country drowned in drugs and alcohol", said the woman in a voice that seemed like an angel's way of saying.

" Tsk. Tsk... such a waste of life and youth. All of you don't even look like eighteen to me, yet here you are drugged and drunk, sleeping on the forest ground which was full of dangerous animals ", she said, looking at the group of five teenagers. Then she took a good look at their faces and sighed.

" Even though all of you boys look okay and decent, none of you are really my type, so I think I should just quench my thirst with a little bit of your blood ", she said and waved her hand, making one of the unconscious boys levitate and then making him float on the air.

When the boy was close enough, she opened her mouth and her canines enlarged. Her teeth punctured the smooth skin just around the collar bone of the boy as she started to suck the blood from his body. The whole forest surrounding her seemed to become quiet as she fed on those boys one by one, making sure only to feed enough so that she wouldn't kill any of them in the process. Wiping away any drops of blood on her lips with her thumb, she sucked her thumb and then moaned in delight.

"As expected, a horny teenager's blood is the best", she said in a delighted voice before climbing to one of the nearest trees. Climbing all the way up, she flickered her finger and, just like that, all those boys regained their consciousness.

"Even though you are fools enough to drug and drink in the middle of a forest at nighttime, I don't want all of you to be some animal's meal", she whispered to herself before moving again.

It took her about an hour to reach her destination. It was not like she couldn't reach the place in a second just by flickering her fingers or teleporting herself, but since it had been a long time, she wanted to travel all the way on her own. Looking at her surroundings, she felt the familiar presence of all those people who were once close to her and sucked in a breath.

"Mother... father ... I am home", she whispered to no one in particular before closing her eyes and chanting some spell. The ground beneath her shook while the wind blew at full speed until it looked like a storm was brewing. But before anything destructive could happen, everything stopped and she opened her eyes, seeing her home, her stone castle.

With a snap of her fingers, the huge doors opened, making the pathway for her. Hiding in plain sight for hundreds of years, the castle looked dull, old and dirty. Closing her eyes again, she chanted some spell and in a matter of seconds every dirt was gone, making it all shiny. With another snap of fingers, the lanterns lit up automatically, providing the much-needed light while she looked around. A castle which was once full of life, full of laughter, now stood abandoned, in complete silence. The candles lit up as she started climbing the stairs, feeling the familiar feeling of childhood memories as her hand brushed against the handrail of the stairs.

Just as she reached the second floor, her eyes fell on a vase, a vase which was hand made by her parents. Sucking in a heavy breath, she slowly walked towards the vase and her eyes got wet seeing the handprints of her parents. Tracing the three different handprints, she smiled a bit and then looked at the other corner to see another vase which was bigger than this one. That another vase was made by her when she was just five years old, and she smiled seeing the little handprints of her younger self. Just beside her small handprint, there was another print which belonged to her mother, The Queen of Witches Bethany. The handprint next to it belonged to her father, The Vampire King Elbort. On the other side of the vase, there was another handprint which belonged to her other father, The Lycan King Zechariah.

Just thinking about her parents made her eyes watery. Around thousands of years ago, when everything was in chaos, a new dawn arose when the queen of witches found herself mated to not only one but two feral species. Every kingdom was in chaos and against this union. Even the kings and queen themselves faced many obstacles to sustaining their relationship. It was new for everyone. No vampire, werewolf or witch had ever seen anything like that before. But against all the odds, her parents maintained a sustainable wedding and then conceived her. After her parents, she was named Elizabeth Aldington Barton Wulfric.

Everything was going very finely. Even though it took time, three different species started getting along well with each other and lived in peace and harmony. Queen Bethany, along with her mates King Elbort and King Zechariah, ruled graciously with love and patience. Everything was going great until the young princess turned five and accidentally displayed an enormous amount of power which created a ruckus in their world. A few wolves and vampires started fearing the young princess, which led to betrayal and treachery. Soon everyone started plotting against the throne and Vampire King Elbort lost his life defending the throne from slayers. That day the whole kingdom, even Queen Bethany and King Zechariah, witnessed the young princess's power as she cried and wailed and along with her everything cried. Rain didn't stop for months, causing storms and floods, destroying many things. These incidents created more suspicion and hunters started hunting the supernatural. One by one, both King Zechariah and Queen Bethany lost their lives to protect their symbol of love, their only child, princess Elizabeth. After that, Elizabeth decided to abandon everything and went into hiding. She kept traveling from one place to another, gathering knowledge and learning everything about herself and her power, but mostly how to control that power and use it. Months turned into years and years into decades, but her quest for knowledge never stopped. As civilization grew, she too grew along with those civilizations. Now today, after almost six hundred years, she has returned to her home, to her castle.

Remembering all the painful past memories, Elizabeth started sobbing and teleported herself to her parents' room. Seeing the portraits of her parents, she couldn't control the sorrows she felt and started wailing like a child. Lying on the bed, she kept crying and crying until exhaustion took over her body and she fell asleep.
