[Bonus chapter]34. Bitter Rumors

"Have you heard? The Junior Alpha is back. He is cold as ice. Not even his wife warms him up." A gossipy pack member whispered.

"She's just a wife. He chose the pack doctor's daughter over his rightful mate. So much for the Wilder Clan being true followers of the Goddess Tru." Another pack member snorted.

"This whole thing about Tru being a Goddess is just a bunch of lies, anyway."

"After all, religion has been used to control the masses for millennia."

The whispers started before Jerome and Gabriella came back to the pack. Everyone knew that Jerome was a nerd not interested in females. It was not hard to imagine that the Junior Alpha was not into carnal things.

After all, his mate was a stripper and she didn't make him break into a sweat in skimpy clothes. If the Alpha didn't break his mould when the juicy peach was wiggled in front of his eyes it couldn't be far-fetched that he just wasn't into that cake, right? Or at least that was the logic that floated through the pack.
