1 The Bloody Prison

Chain.

The smell of iron.

Screaming sound.

In the middle of the forest, away from the crowds, stands an old building filled with creatures unknown to ordinary humans. The old buildings prove that the feared, legendary creatures do exist on earth. They live and hide among ordinary humans.

However, the building was not a base for supernatural beings as people imagined. The building is the headquarters of the hunters of supernatural beings. In that building, there is evidence that the creatures feared by humans live without being different from other living things.

There, the creatures were tortured by the hunters who had caught them. Some of them become the hunter's specimens, while others are forced to fight in a special ring until one of them dies. It was not a pleasant place. Both for humans, and supernatural beings.

Due to the large number of creatures they had caught over hundreds of years, the hunters had divided the building into several layers. The top one is filled with weak creatures. While the deepest, filled with supernatural beings with powers they can barely control.

In the deepest part of the building, where light could barely be seen from the premises, sat a man who was quietly closing his eyes. Since the level of danger posed by the man was too great for the hunters to handle, the man was confined in a narrow cell that looked more like a well. There are only two iron doors in the special cell. One door was above and too high for the man to reach and was used by hunters to deliver food every few days. Meanwhile, another door connects the cell with a special battle arena where a fight to the death will be held every few days.

No one knew how long the man had closed his eyes until the sound of footsteps broke the silence that enveloped the place. The special grate above the man's head opened, before a lump of flesh was dropped from above.

“Here's your reward for today's victory, dog!”

When the door above closed again, only then did the man who had been silent below finally be willing to open his eyes. The golden pupils seemed to glow in the lightless place. His eyes glanced at the piece of meat that fell in front of him. The man was silent for a while before his hand slowly reached out to take the piece of meat.

As the man ate, an eerie sound of chewing echoed through the quiet place. That resounding, sinister sound would probably cause anyone's hair to stand on end with fear. The man ate seriously until only blood stains remained on the dark cell.

After finishing eating, the man with golden eyes sat back down and closed his eyes. To him, living like this animal was a punishment for his incompetence. Because he trusted outsiders too much, he had led his pack to destruction. A leader, who can't protect his pack, no longer deserves to call himself an Alpha.

After the destruction of his pack, the man had been forced to live just to fight every day. The man was forced to throw away his pride and became the weapon of destruction of those who had destroyed his pack. He kills and keeps on killing, just to entertain those whose watching his fight.

Using his power to take someone's life was not what the man wanted. His father always said that he should use that power to protect someone. But in the hands of the wizard who became the master of the hunters, the man was forced to abandon the promise he made when he was chosen to become an Alpha.

Many times, the man wished he could end his life. Yet, the memory of how his pack tried to keep him alive, continues to hold back the man's desire to take his life. The man knew he had to stay alive, even if his chances of escaping from that place were nearly zero.

The man didn't know how long he pondered until the commotion above his head again disturbed his composure. When the man looked up, he could smell the pungent smell of blood coming from the room above him. The man subconsciously started to stand up, then stared at the iron bars above him without saying anything.

The man's pupils shrank as the special iron was crushed by someone. To avoid the metal shards that were falling into his cell, the man stepped back a little and waited for the explosion to finally stop. The man remained calm when someone suddenly jumped down into his cramped cell. His golden eyes looked so cold, as he stared at another figure who had just entered his realm.

With a straight face and droopy eyes, the person who had just come down looked at the man's cell without saying anything. Only when he realized that someone was staring intently at him did that person finally stop looking around and focus on the man living in the cramped cell. The two just stared at each other for a while, until the person who had just entered decided to break the silence between them.

“Do you know a young werewolf with brown hair with green eyes? He is about this tall, and has full moon marks on his palms”

Regardless of the circumstances, the figure who had just barged in asked while describing the characteristics of the person he was looking for. The man in the cell seemed to think a little before he answered in a low voice.

“Oh. I killed him a few days ago. Is he from your pack?”

From his golden eyes, the man already knew that the person he had just talked to was an Alpha just like him. Hearing the news that his pack members died because they were killed must have been painful. But the man preferred to tell the truth so that he would not add to his sin after killing many creatures since he was in that place.

If he had to die because of the anger of the powerful Alpha that was in front of him, then that man would gladly accept it. There's nothing wrong with that. He would also be furious if he heard his pack member's killer confess casually while standing in front of him.

But beyond his expectations, the figure who had just entered his cell was silent as he continued to stare at him. There was no anger in the figure's eyes. The figure looked so calm when he asked the man again.

“Why did you kill him?”

The figure's tone was as level as his face. The man snorted, before answering the question in a slightly annoyed voice.

“If I don't kill him, I will be the one to be killed by him. There is only one person who can survive the fight. I have to stay alive, so I kill him without a second thought.”

The man looked at the figure in front of him with an annoyed look, before he continued his speech.

“Look. If you want to kill me, we can fight right now. But, let me tell you something. I won't budge in the slightest, even if I regret killing an innocent werewolf like him.”

The figure he was talking to lowered his head to look at the pool of blood that was under his feet. He backed away slightly, dodging the pool of blood before looking at the man again.
