Chapter ５６

"I spotted you on the couch. Had to snap a pic. See? "In the picture of me and David, she unfastens her neck strap and hands me the camera.

I giggle again and zoom in on David's gorgeous face for laughing.

"Mom! You can't photograph me sleeping! "

A breathtaking smile squints his eyes, zooms in on me, and I gasp.

"Sorry, Mama. "Print me a copy," he adds, Jessica giggling. David then raises his hand and pecks my cheek.

My hair is twisted in David's hands, and resting on his lap makes me seem fat.

"Here," I say to Jessica.

Let Susan help Jessica cook dinner. Then I'll make steaks and rolls.

Then I collect the cutting board and a kitchen knife. I clean the broccoli head and start chopping it for dinner.

Would inquire what song she's singing, but she's busy baking bread.

I'm done slicing broccoli when the heat of the oven causes sweat beads to form on my temples and between my breasts.
