Chapter 49

"What?" I ask as my hands stop on the zipper. David sighs, yet a grin eventually emerges.

"Let's leave, we may get back for lunch." David unlocks the front door.

The sky is still bleak and the wind is still stinging, but being with David is lovely.

"Invite the whole pack, David."

The frozen snow from yesterday night crunches beneath my winter boots as I go towards the boundary line.

David just asked me what I thought we should do for full moon festival dinner, which is in three days. I advised him to invite the whole pack, but David feared overcrowding. I smirked since the pack home is a luxury. The home should suit everyone.

David protests, but I whirl around, stopping him in his tracks and widening his eyes. "Trust me. It'll be a hit." He sighs in despair, his exhalation frozen. I nod and keep going.

"We're almost there." David yells behind me.
