[Bonus Chapter]Chapter 8- The Winner

And as this was happening, Tanaka's reputation points also started to rise in a fast speed, it was slow when it was in the 1st and 2nd round but now that his game was exposed in the livestream and many people were seeing it, it immediately gave Tanaka tons of reputation points.

But Tanaka didn't notice it as he was focused on the announcement of the winners.

"We will now announce the final rankings of the top 10 games"

Shinpachi spoke and the camera turned towards a table positioned in the middle of the stage.

"But before that, let us welcome our esteemed invited judges for this years Video Game Contest for Newcomers, first let us welcome the most well known Father of VR, Kayaba Akihiko!"

Cheers came from the audience as they heard the name was announced and from backstage, Kayaba Akihiko wore a white shirt with a necktie underneath and a long, white lab coat on top. The contours of his face were fine and sharp. He had metallic eyes and short hair.

Kayaba had a serious look on his face but he still acted friendly and waved at the audience.

"Next please welcome! Suzuki Ichirou! The creator of the one of the classics and popular games, Death March Online!"

Satou looked like a handsome young man, He is thin, has black hair, and no facial hair, though even if he looks like this, he was actually already in his late 20's, guess his genes were blessed to look young.

"And that is all for all of our judg-"

Just as Shinpachi was about to finish speaking, a hand grabbed his head .

"What do you think you are doing you damn glasses?"

"G-gin-san"

"Why didn't you introduce your handsome boss? Are you rebelling?"

Sakata Gintoki has naturally wavy hair, which causes him no end of distress. His silvery-blue hair is in a perpetually messy state, which is sometimes exaggerated into a frizzy afro when Gintoki's hair is hit by extreme heat. He has indeterminate grey/green/red dead fish eyes, which are called such because they are nearly always half-lidded. He is a very handsome young man with fair skin and a fairly muscular build.

Kayaba gave his evaluation.

"A fun game to play, the quality and gameplay is just a little bland, it can still be improved"

Satou gave his evaluation.

The first two judges were very conservative with their evaluation but it can be said that they were disappointed with the game and didn't like it, but since they didn't want to hurt the developer, they just added a little encouraging words.

After the 10th place was announced, the next place was announced. The 9th place went to a mobile RPG game that has some bugs which were greatly criticized by the judges, but it was still amazing that the game reached 9th place.

Then after the 8th place, 7th place, 6th place, Tanaka had been anxious thinking that his game will be announced next but it did not come, and before he knew it, the top 5 were being announced.

This was the most important because 6 to 10 are considered losers because they are in the lower bracket but the top 5 to 1 are the best of the best, even if the developers doesn't win, they will still gain a lot of reputation from being in the top 5.

"And now, for the top 5…"

The suspense was much longer and the drums were much more intense. After about 10 seconds of waiting, Shinpachi finally announced.

"For the top 5… we have Storm Swordsman!"

The developer of the Storm Swordsman was present in the stage, so the moment the game was called, The developer stood up from her seat, yes, surprisingly, the developer was a female, one of the few female game developers present in the contest.

Her game is a mobile game that takes place in the medieval period, it was an RPG game about a swordsman who was on his mission to save the princess, the gameplay is normal but the plot of her story is the best among all of the games present.

Just this alone took her to the top 5 of the contest, Tanaka didn't look down on his peers so he clapped along despite not being on the stage, after all, he respects a woman who climbs using her own strength.

Tanaka also saw the demo of the game and he was impressed, the gameplay may not be that good, but she gave it her all in terms of the background scenes and the animation, and especially the plot, it could go toe to toe against the hobbit movie from Tanaka's past life.

"I should try to invite her when I have the chance"

Tanaka murmured, of course, he will try to take a talented developer under his wing but that is for another time.

After taking her award, the developer of the Storm Swordsman gave a speech about how she worked hard for this and how thankful she was to the people who voted for her, she also received praises from the 3 judges including Gintoki.

Though he still criticized how she didn't improve the gameplay and should have been a novel writer instead or she should have made a visual novel instead of a game like this, and that was it.

After that, she returned to her seat with tears of joy on her face, the awards then continued, the top 4 were next to be announced, and this time, Tanaka felt more pressure.

"For our top four is….*Drums Rumbling~"

"X-Step World!"

Cheers once again resounded on the stage, and the developer of this game stood up from his seat, He didn't seem shocked to know he was top 4 but a smile could be seen on his face.

X-Step World is another RPG Mobile Game, its selling point is its unique gameplay, Instead of an RPG game about Swords and Magic, the X-Step World went in a different approach using music, Tanaka couldn't help but admit that the music of the game is the best he had ever heard though, they still don't amount from those from his past life.

Still, it was a good game.

After the 4th place received his award, he also gave a small speech before returning to his seat.

"Now! The final top 3!"

Shinpachi hyped up the audience as he loudly made them excited for the final 3.

"Before we start, let us see the final 3 that are left, one of these amazing games will be crowned top 1! Cheer for your favorite game!"

After he finished speaking, the huge screen on the stage changed and showed the final 3 games.

The only PC platform in the contest- Lost Knight.

The Cross-platform game- Angry Birds.(A/N: means can be played in mobile and PC)

And lastly, A Mobile game- Fire Bullet Explode

Lost knight is an RPG game, it has great graphics and it also uses 3d characters and the gameplay is a hack and slash first-person game, and full grinding, there is also little plot in the game, and from what Tanaka saw, the game is not completed yet.

Fire Bullet Explode is a Mobile Fps game, graphics-wise, its graphics is much worse than Free Fire but since a Mobile Fps Game is rare, Tanaka didn't know anything about the FPS games so he only thought the game was popular.

The game demos were shown on the huge screen on their own and whenever their favorite game appeared on the screen, cheers from the audience could be heard, much more with the internet where there are now about 600 thousand people who were watching the contest.

Tanaka shuddered as he saw the number and felt even more pressure, it seems like this year is the peak for the contest, probably because of the judges.

It didn't take long before they decided to start the final announcement, and unlike the previous announcement, the final 3 will be announced at the same time, this was to higher the suspense and also make it better.

"Before we start, let us call the top 3 developers on the stage to see who these talented people are"

"First is the developer of Fire Bullet, Mr. Zu Fien, a Chinese National who joined our contest"

A young man climbed up the stage and waved at the audience.

"Next is the developer of Lost Knight, A person from Tokyo, Tadashi Hamada!"

A young man also climbed the stage, he was a little tall than average japanese people, and he also looked handsome.

"And lastly, the developer of Angry Birds, he didn't want to give his real name so let's call him by his Pseudonym, Tanaka, unfortunately, he can't join us right now, so he can only join through Call, Please Mr. Tanaka!"

The huge screen changed and showed a character avatar who was a handsome young man, yes, it was Zhong Li's avatar.

After Kayaba finished speaking, he opened the envelope and everything became quiet after that.
