Chapter 61 - You've Lost You Fool

I turned my attention to Biroth.

"You've lost you fool," I said. "You finally accepted it?"

He turned his gaze up to me and this time it wasn't full of shock but anger, rage in fact.

And here we go, I thought, getting ready for the idiot to dig his own grave. He was lucky Esdeath was not here. Then again perhaps she would be of use now. I thought about it for a second before I summoned her.

She looked around before meeting my eyes. "Hello, my love, you called?"

"Yes," I replied. "Do you mind helping me out? I'm just having a conversation with our prisoner here and I'm thinking you can help. I have some things to check over, and I need someone to keep this idiot company."

"I'll do anything for you, my love," She said, walking over.

"You bastard," Biroth growled. "You damn bastards. It's all your fault. everything is all your fault. You killed her. I'll ki- Ahhhhhh."

His last word transformed into a scream as a needle of ice shot pierced his forehead. He screamed out loud as a dozen more joined in, slowly digging in before pulling out then digging back in.

That must be one hell of a brain freeze, I thought.

"How dare you speak to my beloved in such a manner," Esdeath said, her voice cold.

"Don't break him," I said to Esdeath. "I still need him."

"I'll make sure not to," Esdeath said, giving me a warm smile before giving a cold one to Biroth whose eyes were wide and mouth open in a silent scream.

"Remind me, not to piss her off," Domino muttered.

I shook my head and looked at Danzo. "Keep them guarded and don't let any escape. I just have to check something then we can leave with Biroht and I can have some talon riders come to pick the others up."

"Of course my lord," Danzo replied, "They shall not leave my sight."

Now that I was satisfied that everything was ok for now I finally turned my attention to the flood of system notifications I'd gotten.

[Birds Eye View: Gain a wide view of the area around yourself from above. While using this ability you are unable to move your body, but system actions such as summoning and using mental commands are still useable. The range and clarity of the ability will improve with your level.]

I whistled in appreciation at the level increases I'd gotten for my summons and myself, but mainly for the ability which would be extremely useful, especially when I got an ability that allowed my summons to say things back to me, mentally. Although the fact I couldn't move while using the ability was an annoying drawback, I hoped eventually the ability could be improved, which brought on another thought.

"Eden, what happens when I hit level ten? If anything happens at all, I am just assuming after all."

[I cannot answer in detail, but it is a threshold level. Many changes will occur, but I should inform you it will take longer to reach level ten than it did for any of your precious levels by a high margin.]

"I see, well I'm not too worried," I said. "I have a plan to grin up level whilst working on the kingdom."

There were bound to be brigands and bandits across the kingdom and all manner fo beasts that would need to be gotten rid of and so my plan was simple. Clean up ht kingdom and get levels at the same time. It was a win-win all around.

A sudden scream cut through the air and I looked over at Biroth to see a small needle of ice extending from Esdeath's finger to Biroth lower levels. I grimaced and shifted my legs, not even wanting to imagine what was happening.

I turned my attention back to my rewards. With the quest complete and the levels, I'd gained, I now had three common tokens and one unique token, which meant four more summons to add to my group. I frowned as I thought about using them now, then decided I would do it right now. I had just told myself I would use my token immediately and I wasn't going to to back on that.

When I returned I would sort everything out, which hopefully shouldn't take too long, although I would need to call a meeting for tomorrow, or an announcement for the entire city as to what would be happening now that the war was over, since I had no doubt everyone was curious and probably a little scared. They had lived at the whims of those higher than them for all their lives and probably thought me another tyrant, but I would show them I was different.

For now, however, it was summoning time.

Although, I thought, there is one thing.

"Eden is it best if I wait till level ten to use my tokens?"

[No, there is no need. The rewards for level ten will mainly focus on the system, not the summons, though the chance of getting stronger summons will increase but at its normal rate. That is all I can say for now.]

Guess I'm summoning then, I thought, turning my attention to Esdeath

"Esdeath, that's enough," I shouted over to her before turning to Domino and Danzo. "Domino, Grab Biroth. Danzo keep enough shadow clones here to guard the rest and hop on Rath."

I sent Esdeath back to storage and summoned Rath.

"You gonna summon more already?" Domino asked.

"Yeah, I mean think about it," I said. "I'm wasting them by not summoning them now since who knows what useful summon I could get. Although I will be keeping one just in case you know."

I turned my attention away from Domino and with a simple mental command used three tokens, two common and one unique.

The world around me lit up with white light.
