Chapter 6

Weekend.

As the light of the sun radiated the surroundings, and the sounds of the birds chirping could be heard. Lourence woke up from his deep slumber. He took a look at the time in his watch ~11:32 am~. After seeing the time, he stood up from his bed and went beside the window. Their house is a two story building, and his room is located at the second floor.

Upon seeing the surroundings that is being radiated by the sun, he felt a 'summer vibe' from it. And as he savoured the freshness of the wind, he started to feel something nostalgic about it.

His memories are foggy, but he can hear a certain voice of a little girl calling him.

"Look at this view! Isn't it beautiful?", the girl asked.

"Yeah, it's really worth coming here.", Lourence replied, joy could be heard from his voice.

"I know you'll like it.", the girl told him.

Then they bursted into laughter.

He tried to remember who that girl is, but he got lazy to think about it, so he stopped wondering. He went downstairs to eat breakfast. After eating, he went to their backyard to have some fresh air and find a spot to read his book.

After reading for several minutes, Lourence started to feel a little bored, it's very unlikely of him to feel bored.

'I've been only doing this for many years now, I kinda want to go somewhere.', he thought to himself.

So he started to dress himself, and picked up his bicycle. He looked at the GPS in his phone, and started planning where he should go. After coming to a decision, he finally drove his bike going outside.

Going through the place, Lourence past by this road where the sea could be seen. He stopped by for a moment to watch the beautiful sight created by it. Many songs popped in his mind, so he took out he's earphones and connected it to his phone. He started listening to this song called 'High Hopes' and the mood of the song matched Lourence's.

Upon hearing the song, he could remember the voice from the little girl. This time, he remembered something new. He got flashbacks of their conversations, he can't remember the face of the girl, but he knew that she has a long blonde hair and she's wearing a straw hat.

"Wow! Lourence, you're so good on playing the guitar.", the girl praised him.

"Haha, this is just my hobby, no need to praise me.", Lourence replied a bit flustered.

"Do you know the song called 'Rewrite the Stars'?, the girl asked him.

"Yeah, I know that song. In fact, that's is one of my favorite song to sing.", Lourence replied with excitement.

"Let's sing that song.", the girl suggested while a gentle smile could be seen.

Lourence picked up his guitar and they started to duet singing that song.

The expressionless face that Lourence became filled with a gentle smile, happiness could be seen from it. Suddenly, his face changed from happy to be grim.

On a certain night.

A boy with tears dripping down his face, tried to chase a girl entering a limousine car.

"You should've told me when you were leaving, so that I can be ready when the time comes.", Lourence spoke to the girl through the window.

"I'm sorry, but I need to go back to our home abroad. My parents said that I need to study there. I tried to persuade them to let me study here, but they still insisted for it.", the girl told him, sadness could be heard from her voice.

"When are you going to be back?", Lourence asked, containing his emotions.

"I don't know but I think maybe 2 years from now. I'm sure that we will meet again in the future.", the girl replied, finally a tear fell down his cheeks.

"If you ever forgot my name, just remember to go to the place that we always met.", the girl told him, in tears.

After the girl told those words, the car started to move, leaving Lourence behind. Adrian is still there from the spot, frozen. Then it started the rain, blending the rainwater with Lourence's tears.

The sight of the sea being radiated by the sun became even more beautiful as the song played in his ears. He felt like the time became slower than normal. Tears dripped down his face, so he took out a handkerchief from his pocket to wipe down his tears.

When the song finally finished, he stood up from where he was sitting, and got on his bike. He then went to continue his goal for today, which is going through a place.

Going through there, he passes through some wooden area. He can hear the sound of the waves hitting the shore.

He finally reached the place. It is a rocky hill where it overviews the sight of the sea. Lourence took out his phone and took a picture of the sight that could be seen from there. He sat there to enjoy the feeling of seeing such a beauty of nature.

'This place is really familiar. It feels like I've been here before.', he thought inside his head.

He took out his book to read it, while seeing the amazing view from there.

Several hours had passed, Lourence finished reading his book, and hid it back in his small bag.

Going back through the path where came from, he saw a certain tree that is different from the others. It is bigger than the others, so he went there to check the tree.

He saw something carved on the trunk of the tree, but he didn't clearly able to read it at first, because algae is covering it. So he picked up a leaf and wiped the algae.

After seeing what's written on it. Lourence became extremely shocked. What's written on the tree is (Lourence and Sandra had been here!).

Lourence became frozen on the spot. He thought, 'So, her name is Sandra.'

But still he couldn't remember the face of the girl. He only knows that she has a blonde hair, and she's from the other country. Suddenly he remembered something.

After she left, she said they would meet each other in 2 years. After that time came, Lourence went to this place to meet Sandra like she promised, but she didn't appear. Since then, Lourence has been coming here every weekday for 3 whole years, but she never showed up. Lourence finally gave up, his heart is filled with grief.

Since then, his emotions became cold towards other people, because he doesn't want to get betrayed again for trusting someone. He still doesn't fully trust Adrian, that's why he's still acting cold towards him.

Going back home, Lourence stopped by a bookstore to buy some novel to read. He saw someone familiar who's choosing a book, he's Adrian.

Adrian felt someone is staring at him, so he looked at the person. Upon seeing Lourence, he became a bit surprised and asked him.

"Oh, it's you bro. What are you doing here?", he asked.

"Isn't it obvious?", Lourence replied expressionlessly.

"Haha, I apologize for that.", he replied, and went back to what he was doing.

'Should I trust this idiot?', he thought inside his head. Then went to the counter to pay.

Reaching their house, Lourence felt somewhat tired, even though he's been sitting all day long. After eating dinner, he went to his room, turned on his computer to watch anime .And so, his daily life continued.
