Just A One-night Stand

The assistant, Clyde, bowed his head in deference to his boss, holding the car door open as Julian emerged with an air of grandeur.

"Thank you, Clyde. You're dismissed," Julian said, deftly buttoning his coat with a single, practiced motion as he strode towards the mansion.

Clyde hurried after him, eager to share something with him. "Ahem, err… Sir…" He attempted to speak, only to be inadvertently interrupted by Julian as he addressed one of the estate's guards.

"Is the young master, Denver, at home?" Julian inquired, his tone authoritative yet casual.

"Good afternoon, Sir Julian. Youngest master and youngest Miss left for a wig shopping expedition a few hours ago," the guard explained, bowing low as he offered this detailed account.

He didn't dare meet Julian's eyes, even though Julian was not his direct superior—his actual master would roast him alive for such audacity.
