26 Goodbye Rudolphus Lestrange

Hey guys, thought I'd write before the chapter. (No one reads after the chapter).

You can sign up for pre-chapters of all my stories: buymeacoffee.com/fanfictionforge

Of course, that's optional, I'll still post everything at some point. (I won't, like some authors).

But anyway, the support is very motivating to keep writing and improving the stories. (Yes, I'm aware of some word problems, I try to find them, but there are too many stories and chapters, I'm missing something. Eventually there will be less of them)

I'm also writing another story, I think it will be very interesting.

Plot: When the last descendant of the Peverell family cries out for help, two beings answer his call: one is a legendary sorceress, the other is the goddess of death. Among tags: sex, immortality, space, personification of death, relationship development, other planets, group sex, dystopian themes, alternate universe, imaginary beings, educational institutions, femslash elements.

--------------------------------------------------------------

The last few days of his second year Alex was in a rather high spirits, and the reason for that was Frank Longbottom, with whom he had developed a friendly relationship. The two of them paired up to complete the potions assignment, followed by Malfoy and Jones, and Black and Carmichael a day later. All three pairs, and especially the first, to everyone's surprise, received an 'Excellent' for the potions they had prepared.

To Peverell's surprise, Malfoy was also able to connect with Jones, but Black wasn't doing so well, as Carmichael feared her fiancé like fire.

All in all, there were reasons for the boy to be in a good mood, but along with that came a couple of other problems. These problems were called Albus Dumbledore and Rudolphus Lestrange. After Alex became friends with Longbottom, his strained relationship with Lestrange senior became worse than ever. Now he began to burn Peverell with a look of anger on every occasion, but he was in no hurry to take any action, obviously remembering that the sophomore was the best duelist in the school, but the problem with Dumbledore was much more significant after Peverell had completed his potions assignment, the headmaster began to pay excessive attention to him and even tried to use leg dimension on him a couple of times.

Alex knew that it was illegal to use Legilimens on someone without their consent, but he couldn't prove that Dumbledore had done it, as he had no proof.

It came as a surprise, almost a shock to him, that Longbottom had asked to tutor him in potions. However, after thinking about it, Peverell still agreed, as he didn't want to ruin his relationship with him. Alex learned that Frank was a capable student because his potions had become much better and now he didn't blow up, melt, or dissolve cauldrons so often. This was noticed by Slughorn, who inquired about the reason for this progress, and by pure chance, right in the class with the second-year Gryffindor and Slytherin:

Flashback

- Well done Mr Longbottom. Not perfect, of course, but much better than before," Horatia said, looking at Frank's potion. - I must say that your skills in potions have improved a lot compared to last year," Frank blushed expectantly, hearing praise from a potions professor for the first time.

- It's all Alex Professor, he helps me with Potions," Longbottom muttered, blushing, and Peverell himself mentally grabbed his head.

- "Oh, stupid," Peverell mentally howled, his friend from Gryffindor was kind, quite smart, and strong magically, but still, a bit silly. However, Alex himself was also good, forgetting to warn Frank to keep their lessons a secret.

- Mr Peverell? - Slughorn asked, looking at the Gryffindor, who nodded. There was a deafening silence in the room after that, everyone looked at Peverell with shock. - Is it true? - The Dean of Slytherin asked Alex, and he nodded.

End of Flashback

After this news, the school was buzzing all day, discussing the news. Alex himself walked with an indifferent face, but only his wife saw that their fiancé was on the edge and the hour was not far when he would snap and curse someone. Luckily, the perfect occasion presented itself:

The next day. The Great Hall.

- Hey, Peverell, I didn't know you'd become a Muggle-born scum-sucker," Rudolphus said in a rather loud voice, drawing everyone's attention and distracting Alex from his conversation with Bella.

- I didn't know you had dementia, Lestrange, because you should have noticed that I wasn't interested in your opinion," Peverell retorted, not even looking at the older student, such dismissiveness expectedly infuriating him.

- How dare you? I'm the heir to the ancient and noble Lestrange family, and you're just an ordinary..." Rudolphus didn't have time to finish, as the boy interrupted him, speaking for him.

- And I'm just an ordinary head of two ancient and noble clans, - and as proof Alex took off the illusion from his rings, and then there was silence in the big hall for a couple of seconds, and the sophomore decided to finish Lestrange, and continued. - But you're right, who am I to argue with you," Peverell's last words shocked everyone, even Lestrange himself. - You're just an ordinary and pathetic heir to some insignificant family, and you're going to be for decades to come," and as a final blow, the last words were said in a particularly pitiful tone, and the look was full of condescension.

The effect was immediate, most likely Lestrange senior, who had not shone with intelligence before, seemed to have lost the last vestiges of reason and instead of finishing it all, gave in to such a trivial provocation and snatched up his wand, but he thought of something reasonable and pointing his wand at Peverell spoke:

- I, Rudolphus Alexander Lestrange. Heir to the ancient and noble House of Lestrange, I challenge Alexandros Peverell-Slytherin, head of the Peverell and Slytherin clans, to a duel for personal insult as well as insulting my entire family. May magic confirm my words," with the last word Rudolphus was enveloped in a white light, confirming his words. Seeing this, the professors who wanted to stop them immediately shut up and sat back down. Lestrange's words were confirmed by magic, and only a complete fool or a suicidal person could go against it, which was the same thing.

- I accept your challenge, Rudolphus Lestrange. Since you are the offended party, you have the right to choose the place and time," Alex answered, white light enveloping him as well, fixing everything with magic. Now both of them had no way to turn back. The challenge was thrown and accepted.

- Here and now. My second is my younger brother, Rabastan Lestrange," Lestrange Sr. growled rather than said. But his rage did not affect Peverell, who still looked at the older student with a slightly mocking look and sniggered dismissively.

- Good," Alex nodded, then looked at Lucius, who understood without question and nodded his head. - My second is Lucius Malfoy, heir to the ancient and noble Malfoy family.

As soon as the sophomore finished, the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw faculty tables disappeared and the students themselves stepped back against the wall, still shocked at what was happening.

- What are the terms? - Alex asked, standing in the centre of the room opposite Lestrange. Under normal circumstances, it would be stipulated by the seconds, but since Rudolphus had said "here and now", such formalities were not necessary.

- No restrictions, the duel will last until one of us dies," Rudolphus replied, giving Alex a murderous look.

- 'Mr Lestrange don't you dare,' Dumbledore exclaimed, but it was too late as Lestrange senior was once again enveloped in light, solidifying the terms of the duel.

- In case of death, the losing side will have absolutely no claims against the winning side," Alex clarified, as he didn't want to go to Azkaban on the charge of murdering the heir of an ancient family. Rudolphus answered reluctantly but nodded his head in confirmation.

The duelists stood opposite, turned their backs to each other, and then began counting down the ten paces. Once they were within the proper distance of each other, they pointed their wands at each other.

- Professor Flitwick," Alex asked, keeping his eyes on his enemy. The professor understood everything without words, stood up from his seat, and started:

- One," both duelists tensed.

- Two, - the professors and the rest of the hall tensed up.

- Three, - with this word Filius let out a not-bright flash. After the flash, Rudolphus immediately jumped back half a meter and watched Peverell, who didn't move a step.

And the entire great hall, from freshmen to seniors, was horrified at what was happening. Everyone present didn't know how to react to it, no one waking up this morning thought that a student would die at Hogwarts today. Of all the students, only Lucius and Bellatrix remained calm. Both of them had known Alex for a long time and had learned what he was capable of and were sure that he would wipe Lestrange into powder even without much effort. The state of the professors was a little better for the students. Only Moody, Flitwick, and Dumbledore were calm. The first because he had seen everything, the second had been in duels for years and death was a common occurrence, and the third didn't care about other people's lives if they couldn't benefit him.

Tired of waiting, Peverell sent a wide, one-and-a-half meter wide slashing curse at the senior without a word, with a horizontal sweep of his wand. All the professors, even Moody and Flitwick, were greatly surprised by what they saw. You bet, a sophomore, and already in possession of non-verbal charms. Meanwhile, the slashing spell flew at Lestrange, who had time to get out of shock and throw himself to the ground, because in extreme cases he could cut off his upper body at the level of the solar plexus.

The spell expectedly flew over his head and shattered against the barrier. Jumping up from his seat Lestrange waved his wand and exclaimed:

- Rictumsempra! Colloscio! Conjunctivitis! Ostolbenei! - The four spells traveled towards Alex, but were rather slow, so Peverell simply took three steps to the left, skipping the tickling and shoe-gluing spells. Two more steps to the right and the blinding flew to the left and the last step to the left skipping the paralysing one.

- Does he want to kill him? - Looking sceptically at Lestrange, the old warrior asked.

- Expulso! - Alex said softly, deciding to give Lestrange a chance to survive. After casting the spell, a blue beam flew out of his wand.

- Protego! - Lestrange roared, seemingly convinced that the loudness of the pronunciation determined the strength of the spell, Alex's explosive spell hit an invisible shield and deafeningly exploded. Lestrange's shield expectedly failed, and the shockwave hit Rudolphus head-on. A second later, Lestrange appeared, looking lousy. His left arm was sagging with a whip, blood dripping from it as well as from his right temple. The Slytherin himself was breathing heavily.

- You Serpensortia! - this spell was very familiar to the boy from back in Harry Potter's life. This time the same thing happened, and an eerie-looking cobra flew out of Lestrange's wand.

- Bite him," Alex ordered the cobra, switching to Parseltongue, and it obeyed, biting Lestrange's leg with a swift jerk. He roared and with a wave of his wand cancelled the spell and the cobra disappeared.

- Die, Avada Kedavra! - The last spell made all the professors and Alex flinches, and to everyone's surprise, a swift green beam flew out of Lestrange's wand.

Peverell quickly came to his senses and with a wave of his wand transfigured a flock of thirty small birds around him, which began to circle him, forming a sphere. The death curse reached the flock and hit one of them. The bird died expectantly, but the spell was stopped.

- The boy is good, to come up with such a defence against a death curse," Alastor said with approval in his voice.

- How does he know that spell and how can he use it? - McGonagall asked in a trembling voice.

- 'He's from a dark family and their library probably has information about this spell,' answered Moody thoughtfully.

- But how can he use it? - The Dean of Gryffindor asked again.

- The main thing about this curse is his lust for killing, he probably wants it so badly that his lust for killing makes up for his lack of magical power and experience," Flitwick spoke up.

- But is that possible? - Slughorn wondered.

- It's not clear, but it's the most likely," Dumbledore replied, watching as Lestrange launched two more killing curses that ended the same way as the first.

- Sectumsempra! - said Alex, pointing at Lestrange, after casting the spell a light arc flew out of Peverell's wand and headed towards his opponent incredibly fast. Lestrange tried to dodge, but he didn't have time and the spell hit him in the neck.

The effect of Severus Snape's spell was immediate, and Rudolphus's head separated from his body with a sickening, "Squish!" and fell at his feet, while the body slowly sank to its knees and then to its stomach, writhing in death spasms.

- That's it," Alex said in sepulchral silence, waving his wand and putting it away.

The next day the whole school was horrified and could not yet realise what had happened. Alex was as calm as a boa constrictor, though he felt uneasy inside. All the students who saw Peverell bounced off him like he was sick. Slytherin took it easier than the others because they were mostly purebloods, so they knew the laws of magic and so on. Besides, Lestrange Senior, who was already dead, wasn't very popular in the faculty, and his death was received rather coolly.

But Rudolphus's younger brother, Rabastan Lestrange, was in the hospital wing, having received three stun spells to the chest at once. The incident had occurred after the duel was over and he, as Rudolphus' second, had stopped the duel, in consequence of his brother's death. He admitted defeat with a loud gnashing of teeth and also confirmed that the losing side would have no claims against the winner. After shaking hands with Peverell's second, and as soon as the latter turned towards the great hall doors, he grabbed his wand and tried to hurl a spell at Alex's back, but was met with three stunners from the Black and Malfoy sisters.

Lestrange Senior's body was delivered to Lestrange Manor the same day, along with a letter and a vial of memories.

A day later, there was an article in the Daily Prophet about the death of the Lestrange family heir, the cause of his death, and the new heir to their family.

A week after the incident, everyone began to more or less come to their senses, and what had happened seemed like a bad dream to everyone, and the only reminder that what had happened was not a dream, but reality, was the absence of Lestrange Senior.

The remaining days of school passed quietly. The fear and dread had let go and everyone remembered that it was the end of the year, which meant exams were almost upon us. Alex himself forgot Lestrange already on the second or third day, besides, he was satisfied. He was able to show everyone what would happen if someone decided to contact the Peverells. Secondly, he could get rid of the one who had been bothering his wife for the last month.

On top of all this, Longbottom despite what had happened continued to be his friend, as did Malfoy. All in all, there were reasons for Alex's high spirits. In addition, just the evening after the Prophet article had been published, a letter from Darius had arrived to him, in which he wrote about the latest progress, news, family matters, and approval about Lestrange.

The end of the school year came quickly, but our company did not notice it, for they were busy with their studies and exams. When the exams were over, all the students, including Alex and Lucius and the Black sisters, were sitting on the Hogwarts Express and going home for the summer holidays to return to their third year.
