Doc's voice came over the intercom as we finished our afternoon snacks.

- We are almost at Lake Michigan. Lex, please come to the captain's bridge.

- I'll take you. - Zak said and led me to his father.

Since it was the first time we were alone, I thought this was an excellent chance to learn about Zak's abilities.

- So, Zak, can you control the cryptids? - as if by chance, I asked.

- Yes, that's my superpower. Although, few people know about it, and my parents want me to keep it a secret. - Zak said.

- Don't worry, I can keep secrets. - With a smile, I said.

-Yes, there is hardly anyone who can do it better than you, given your alter ego.- Zak said with a satisfied smile. Smart boy.

- And how are your powers mastered? - I inquired.

Hearing my question, Zak visibly frowned and said with a displeased look: - Not really. It's hard for me to concentrate on controlling the cryptid. In addition, they resist all the time and do not want to obey me.

- Don't worry, everything will come with experience. You just need to keep trying, and it will become much easier in time. Trust me, it's always tricky initially, but you will forget this feeling of helplessness that you feel now in the future. Your powers will become yours entirely, and you will no longer be able to imagine life without them. - I said with a smile as I created a spiral ball of my magic energy in my hand to demonstrate.

- Thank you. - Zak sincerely thanked me, looking with delight at the manifestation of my own superpower.

- But let me give you one helpful piece of advice. Cryptids are living beings, and like any living beings, they won't like it if you try to bend them to your will. - I said as I removed the spiral ball.

- But, this is the essence of my strength. - Zak said incredulously.

- Right. But remember. No one wants to do something they initially would not want to do. Especially if you order them. But if you sincerely ask them to do what they can do and it is not difficult for them to do it, then many will gladly fulfill your request. - I said mysteriously.

- So… You mean that I shouldn't control or subdue, but just ask? - correctly understanding my words, Zak asked, although with considerable skepticism.

- Right. I know it sounds weird, but trust me, a sincere request is more effective than an absolute order. It will take time for you, but I am sure that you will learn how to properly use what I have just said.

- Okay, I'll remember your advice. - Zak said with a serious face.

We had just passed through the door and found ourselves in the captain's cabin by this point. It was a small room with seating for the entire Saturday family, with large windows and a fantastic panoramic view. Doc was now at the helm, piloting the airship.

- Lex, wherein the lake did you meet the Krakken? - Doc asked immediately.

In principle, it is not surprising that he asks, after all, the area of Lake Michigan is 58,016 km², the length is 517 km, and the maximum width is about 190 km. No wonder the Krakken could hide for so long and be only recently discovered. Without my help, it will take Doc several months to find the tracks of the lake monster. Especially considering that it has become smaller.

- Here. - I said and pointed to the map that was on the dashboard. And then I added: - And here, a little to the side, there is an abandoned factory. If we land here, we won't attract too much attention.

- Understood. - Doc said and changed course.

Five minutes later, we arrived at our destination and landed on the shore of the lake. We saw that everyone else had also gone outside coming out of the airship.

- Hmm… It's only been a month since we've been here, but so much has happened. - With nostalgia in her voice, Gwen said when I approached her.

- Exactly. - I said in the same tone.

- Let's go, Lex. You can help us find the Krakken. Doc, who had already changed into his makeshift diving suit and Drew, was already standing next to him, in the same suit.

- We're coming with you. - Zak said in a tone that brooked no objection. And Fisk nodded vigorously at his words.

- No, Zak. This is dangerous, and you are too small to dive to the bottom of the lake in search of the Krakken. - Doc said in a stern tone.

- Your father is right, Zak. You will stay here. Max, please look after them. - Drew said to Grandpa.

- Don't worry, Drew. I'll look after your boys, and I think it will be interesting for them to listen to the stories of the old Space Plumber. - Max said with a smile, successfully luring Zak and Fisk with his stories.

- We'll be back in an hour. Don't be bored. - I quietly told my girls. In response, they only sent me kisses and waved their hands.

- Let's go. - I said and turned into Ripjaws, the first in a long time.

Entering the lake, I quickly swam to the depths because I knew well that the Krakken likes to dwell as deep as possible. Surprisingly, Doc and Drew's diving suits allowed them to reach decent speed underwater, and they practically kept up with me.

After 20 minutes of searching, I finally smelled the Krakken. Who would have thought that I could sense in the water? Apparently, this is not so difficult to do if you have gills.

Soon, the smell led us to an underwater cave, which we immediately swam into. Apparently, it was an extensive network of underwater caves, but we were lucky and found the Krakken near the entrance. And, it seems, she has already managed to become a mother. The eggs had hatched, and now three energetic children were swimming around the mother.

- How lovely. - Drew said as she watched the playful Krakken Cubs.

- She really is a cryptid. And extremely unique. - said Doc enthusiastically, studying the lake monsters with his handheld computer.

Unfortunately, the mother hen noticed us and quickly swam away into the depths of the caves, taking the kids with her.

- I think this information is enough, and let's not interfere with them. - Doc said, and we all swam to the surface.

- Well, what do you think? - I asked after we got ashore, and I became human again.

- Apparently, the reduction did not harm the Krakken in any way. I think it was the right decision on your part. Given that she's not aggressive, she should stay here. But we will watch her and her offspring. We will find them a new home in a wilder area if something happens. - expressed his professional opinion, Doc.

- Doc is right. Lex, you did a great job of not leaving the poor cryptids to fend for themselves and still helping them. I'm sure Olivia would be proud of you. - Drew said with a smile.

- Um… Thank you, I guess. - I said awkwardly, scratching my cheek.

- You are faster than expected. - Gwen said as she approached, saving me from an awkward conversation.

- Yes, we were lucky, and we quickly found the Krakken. - I said with a smile as Doc and Drew removed their wetsuits.

- Grandpa decided to have a barbecue since we were back at the lake. - Gwen said, pointing in the direction of Max, who had already managed to get everything necessary for a picnic and was already grilling alligator meat on the grill.

- Smells tasty. - Drew said, smelling the meat.

- I think we can do with a bit of rest, especially in such a beautiful place. - said Doc, walking arm in arm with his beloved wife in the direction of their children.

- Well, how do you feel after meeting your godmother? - Gwen asked curiously when the Saturdays were far enough away.

- Quite strange. But I do not regret that I met them. They are good people. - I said honestly.

- Yes, you are right. - Gwen confirmed as she watched Fisk and Zach play badminton. Where did they just get rackets and a shuttlecock?

- Okay, let's go try Grandpa's next culinary masterpiece. - I said and went to the table.

We spent the rest of the day on the lakeside playing different games, eating delicious food, and getting to know each other better. The only downside to the evening was having to constantly answer all sorts of questions Zak had about my aliens.

July 16, 2010.

Today I got up early again but decided not to go anywhere but to sit quietly on the shore of the lake and enjoy the view.

The only thing is, I still completed my special training to increase the amount of Mana. Since I came up with this method, I have tried to use it as often as possible, and unfortunately, this doesn't always work out.

- Meow. As I finished training, a blue tiger cub appeared next to me.

- You've become very attached to me, haven't you? - I asked, picking up the little cryptid. He, or rather she, did not come off me yesterday and even slept in my bed.

- Meow! - Meowing affirmatively at my words, the lucky tiger cub curled up in my lap and quickly fell asleep.

- I wonder if it's because of my natural charisma or because you feel my great luck because of the Tattoo? - in fact, talking to myself, I asked.

- Umaru? (Lex?) - purred another feline that came up behind me.

- Yes, Fisk? - I said, looking curiously at the cryptid.

- Murrraumr ram mmaar maurkmara. (Mr. Max said yesterday that you know a lot and have an Artificial Intelligence that can find any information…) - Fiskerton purred, sitting down next to another.

- And you're asking if I can find information about your species? - I guessed.

- Umu. - Fisk nodded his head.

- Actually, I do know something from you. - I said honestly. Last night, I took some time to remember everything I knew about «The Secret Saturdays» to prepare for the future. It turned out that I knew a lot more than I thought, and Fisk was there also.

- Mu? (Really?) - Fisk purred hopefully.

- Yes. Fisk, you're a Lemurian.

- Lemurian? - Fisk purred with surprising clarity.

- Yes, Lemurian. The Lemurians are an ancient race of cryptids who had their own city-state located on the continent of Lemuria. Unfortunately, this continent sank many thousands of years ago. After that, the Lemurians were distributed worldwide, including they lived in the legendary Shangri-La. As far as I know, the Lemurians had already died out by this time. I'm sorry. - I honestly told the information that I remembered and that Morgana obtained at my request.

- Uma mmarramu? (So I'm the last one?) - Fisk asked sadly.

- Most likely, it is. But don't worry, you already have a family. - I said and pointed to the Saturdeys, who had just exited the airship. And then I added: - Besides, with their help, you can find the legacy of your race. And perhaps some of this can be restored.

- Muammar ma myrrfma. Mamar. (You're right. Thank you) - Fisk said enthusiastically and walked towards his family.

- Thank you. - I said and scanned his DNA with the Omnitrix.

- [Inappropriate DNA sample. Scanning is not possible.] - The Omnitrix AI said, crushing all my hopes.

- What the hell? It should work, and Fisk is perfect in every way. - I retorted, trying to re-scan Fisk's DNA from a piece of his fur that I'd stealthily yanked out of him with telekinesis.

But I got the same result. Although, this is illogical.

Fisk is a feline humanoid, a near-extinct race, and has a high enough intelligence to be self-aware. Certainly more than the Wildmutt. But, for some reason, the Omnitrix stubbornly refuses to add it to its database.

- I don't understand anything. It's the second time. - Frowning, I said to myself.

- Lex, go get some breakfast. - Grandpa's voice interrupted my thoughts.

- Okay, I'll deal with that later. - I said as I put Fisk's fur into the space storage.
