144 Against the World Part 5

When we left the United Nations headquarters, my Spider-Sense reacted.

Irene next to me tells me:

"Alex, a sniper has you in his sights"

I stop my steps, I already knew they would attack me, after all the bastard behind all this will not allow me to get out of here unscathed.

Activating my pseudo 'Hysteria Mode', I prepare for the shot.

Seconds later a bullet is directed at me and with a quick movement I catch it. Calculating the direction where the sniper is, I tell Psylocke:

"Bring him to me and be careful"

With a nod, Psylocke disappears.

While waiting for Psylocke's return, the surrounding people went into an uproar and began to flee. Curious I look at what causes the panic.

I am surprised by what I see, they are a group of people and I recognize all of them, I have even faced some of them.

They are:

The Jackal, Abomination, Lizard, Rhino, Vulture, and Doctor Octopus.

These guys are the Sinister Six.

During the ruckus Captain, Natasha, and Tony in his Iron Man suit approached me.

"What happened Alex?" Captain asked.

"Well, a sniper just shot me, I already sent Psylocke to take care of him but while I was waiting, those guys showed up"

I said that while pointing at the Sinister Six.

"I understand and apparently they don't come with good intentions, we'll help you" Tony said.

"No, go evacuate the members of the United Nations and the surrounding people, if you help us now, they will see it as if the Avengers are on our side" I told him.

Tony is smart, so he understood and says:

"Good luck"

Captain and Natasha reluctantly followed Tony.

"Are you ready?" I asked my current team.

Wanda, Rogue and Irene nod their heads.

As we prepare to fight, Psylocke appears.

Seeing that she came alone, I asked her:

"What happened?"

"The sniper was a man named Bullseye, he escaped but I seriously injured him and he quickly returned when I saw the ruckus" Psylocke said calmly.

Bullseye... that guy is really annoying. The next time I see him, I'll get 'im.

The group of the Sinister Six stops a few meters in front of us.

"Alex Wayne, you must already know who I am, but let me introduce myself properly, I am..."

Before he could say anything else, I cut him off by saying:

"No, I won't let you, besides I'm busy, could you stop bothering me?"

My interruption infuriates the Jackal.

"Stop wasting time Jackal, and as agreed let's crush this guy since before, he prevented me from crushing the spider" Rhino said.

"He's right Jackal, let's finish them off" Lizard said.

With a wild smile he says coldly:

"Kill them"

So the Sinister Six made their move.

I just smiled slightly.

I knew this was part of the plan to make Genosha look like a threat but this is also an opportunity to show our power.
