Web of lies and Secrets

Chapter Two

"We both love you, honey! Don't forget that!"

"Noo... Nooo... Moomm!! Daadd!! Don't leave me"

"Alex... "

"Nooo... Don't leave me please!"

"Alex wake up!"

"Nooo... Please. Don't leave me"

"Alex. Wake up!"

Alex opened his eyes with sweat all over his forehead. What was that?  A dream? But if that was a dream then why it felt real?

Alex was confused and the confusion doubled when he looked around to the unfamiliar room with an unknown person standing beside him.

"Aah!! Alex you finally woke up! You were having a nightmare." A big fat old man wearing a big round glass said looking at him.

"Wait- Who are you and where the hell am i?" Alex asked, touching his wound which was now covered with bandage.

"Alex, you are on the place where your mother wan--"

"Wait!  Where are my parents?? Are they alive? Please!  Tell me they are alive." Alex said cutting him off.

No matter what secret they were hiding from him. His parents loved him from the core of their heart and losing them would be his worst worst Nightmare. He doesn't know what he will do without them.

"Why don't you take a rest for a bit. You have woken up after five days in this unfamiliar place. I know everything must be shocking for you". The old man said sitting on the bed beside him.

Realizing he had woken after five days shocked him more. If he had been here for five days then where are his parents now? Are they alive? He can't lose them. These type of numerous questions which were now arousing in his mind was doing nothing but giving more pain to his head.

"Just tell me where my parents are." Alex screamed at the old man. The pool of tears were clear on his red eyes now.

"Alex! You need to calm down and listen to me. You have to trust me okay. They-- Your parents are alive but you can't meet them from now on. Not until things gets better." he said adjusting his thick eyeglass.

"What do you mean i can't meet them? How dare you say that?  Who are you?" He said screaming at the old man with an anger.

The old man took a long breath, "Listen, you are in a different world right now. You are different Alex. You are here where your mother wanted you to be. A safe place for you. Its danger outs--

"Excuse me! What do you mean by different? And why would my mom want me here? Do you know what you are saying? What place is this? Is this a different planet?  Mars?  Jupiter?  And out all this you want to believe you?  The person whom i just met?" Alex asked without taking a breath.

"Alex--

Alex cut him off saying "Are you a child abductor?"

Horror was now clear on the face of Alex. What the old man was saying was something hard to believe for Alex. Suddenly, the anger started to turn into fear. Alex couldn't believe the person he just met. So he jumped out of the bed and ran towards the door but unfortunately the door was locked.

The old man stood up and took a slow steps towards him, "You don't have to be scared of me Alex. I am not a child abductor and you're not a child. You are already sixteen for god's sake. I know its a lot to process and i understand we just met and you don't want to believe me but i am telling you the truth. You are different and you just don't know it yet. This is not a Mars or Jupiter but a different place from the one you've been living all these years. You are here for a reason and besides, those people whom you are calling your parents are not even your real parents."

Alex couldn't believe what that old just said.

"You are lying. Do you think i will believe you?  Don't talk about my parents when you don't know anything about my family and.... Don't come near to me." Alex said taking a step back.

"Okay then tell me why you and your parents changed cities every year? What are they afraid of? You parents decided to leave Claous city despite of that horrible weather. Tell me why? You have always wondered about the secrets your parents were hiding,  didn't you?" The old man said looking directly into his eyes.

"Ho-- How do you know about all this?" alex asked in a fearful tone.

"I know you don't believe me. That's why there's something i want to show you so that you can believe me. Its from your parents. They wanted you to see after you get here." he said in calm voice.

Then he took out a video camera from his pocket and forwarded his hand towards Alex.

Alex took video camera from his hand, ran into the corner of the room and opened it. There was one video from his parents but for a minute he was in a complete dilemma. But after thinking for a minute he decided to click the play button. Alex was sure that the old man was lying to him and he wanted nothing but to get over with the old man's constant lie.

But little did he know that his world was going to turn upside down after watching that video.

It started with a soft crying voice from Julias, "Alex honey, when you watch this video we won't be there with you. I know you its gonna be hard for you but we want you to know that you're our son, Alex. Even though i am not the one who gave you birth, we have always loved you as our own flesh and blood. So never ever doubt on our love for you."

Peter who was near his wife rubbed his shoulder and said, " I know this truth is gonna be hard for you to handle but trust me, we had to hide this truth from you to protect you. You've always asked us to tell you the secret we've been hiding from you but we couldn't tell you the truth Alex. We were sworn not to tell you before the right time. We both love you and whatever we did was to protect you. So if  you're with  Larry, the old big man with glasses then you're on the right place. You can trust him because its just the beginning. There's still a lot of secrets to unfold."

"We both will always love you!  Don't forget that."

And the video ended that last sentence from Julias.

Alex dropped the camera on the floor. This whole new revelation was a lot for him to handle. It was hard to believe what he just saw on that video. It meant that he was living in a lie this whole time and that was just the beginning. His head started spin.

"Alex..."

And the last thing he could remember was him falling in the cold hard floor.
