The Arena

Before I had hardly looked through my status, Jaendo had already gotten quite far through the line of us "heroes" and at the time, I had no idea why he suddenly started laughing but shortly following, he bellowed out some speech about how we have a "Dragonbourne Talent" in our group, that's cool, I guess? Following the discovery of this talent, Jaendo took him out of the hall we were in. After waiting a bit, someone else walked in, and handed each of us a stone, and didn't start talking until they finished that task,

"Okay, newbies, I'm Tatsi and I'll be your trainer. I'd like all of you with blue-tinted stones to walk to my left, and the others to my right."

Staring down at the stone, a green glow lit up my face and I felt like I was surrounded and covered in a warm substance, it was unlike anything I had ever felt. Proceeding to walk to Tatsi's right, I looked at the others who were going in the same direction as me, everyone else had either pink-tinted stones or stones that didn't even look like they were tinted at all.

On the other side of Tatsi, about 10 feet away from me, the people with blue stones were avidly discussing with each other, explaining what they thought was happening. Now pointing her slender finger at someone across the hall, who was stationed near a metal gate, Tatsi commanded everyone with blue stones to follow that man, and then ushered the group I was in to follow her. We were guided down some stairs, and past a large, dark brown, engraved door, to where we finally ended up in a giant, circular hall, even larger than the previous one which I was summoned into!

After being taken to a seemingly random location inside the hall, I was told to close my eyes and reopen them after around 15 seconds later. After starting to, I was wondering where that voice had went, and funnily enough, it came back,

"This'll be fun to watch."

Following the voice's message, a loud clang filled my ears. What was that? Unable to hold back, I opened my eyes a mere second before instructed to and was met with the view of a blue holographic sphere, encasing the whole area, which faded out into invisibility, just as the 15 seconds were up. With everyone now looking around, nothing had seemingly changed except Tatsi was now sat down with a staff,

"Well, heroes", Tatsi spat with her raspy voice, "You lot are the lesser talented bunch, let's weed out a few of you that won't be necessary on the front lines. The assault upon the corrupted acolytes of Fren isn't a playground after all! We look for only the best...", snapping out from a grin, Tatsi continued, "Do as you wish, experiment with your newfound powers and demonstrate them to their full capacity - make sure not to disappoint us!"

Seeing as we were left to do as we wanted, I walked to the nearest person, another man who looked roughly the same age as me and started introducing myself. He followed my introductions and talked about himself after me,

"Nice to meet you, Kuunam-ji? Did I say it right, haha. Well, my name's Yukon, I'm from Fukuoka and I'm not going to lie, I'm decently startled at the fact that I find none of this surprising. Like, at all."

"Phew, at least I'm not the only one feeling like this, thanks for confirming I'm not just being blunt.", I replied.

Pulling out his status panel, Yukon showed me each of his core skills and the basic description that followed.
