Mai's strength was rapidly decreasing, the toll of battle impacting her performance. Blood seeped from her slash wound, a constant reminder of the clash. She stumbled, barely able to stand, she presses her hand against the ground for support.

Tapping into her reserves, Mai started channeling her magic. Flames roared, taking the form of a hound. The hound seemingly pounced on Shu, a final gamble. But Shu's response was quick—his voice a command that rang with authority. "Counter."

In an instant, the flames that had been Mai's creation now stood as an obediently under Shu's command. The attack was repelled, the scorching hound redirected with perfect accuracy.

The impact was devastating, vicious flames engulfing her body.

As the smoke cleared, Mai lay unconscious. Defeated by her own creation Her body burnt and fragile. Shu's approached her confidently, his expression a mix of pride and pure ectasy.

A kick to her head sent Mai across the arena. An act that symbolised the loss of Mai. Shu's closed the distance once more, a evil smile spread across his face. He lifted her by the head, before allowing her unconscious form to drop back to the floor.

With the winner decided, Shu turned to leave the arena, Akira watched from the sidelines, disappointment and refusing to accept her loss. He had seen and experienced Mai's resolve firsthand The defeat hit him in a way he hadn't anticipated, he turned away at the sight of her lifeless body.
