Akira's recalling his previous discussion about Shu's defensive capabilities. Being a master of defense meant Shu was skilled in negating attacks and using magic based defensive techniques. Mai, however, had her own secret weapon—a Mythical Grade orb. Akira raised an eyebrow, a hint of bewilderment crossing his features. Why would she choose what appeared to be such an useless item?
Shu mocked Mai, but Mai surpassed his expectations, dashing forward with a speed that caught many by surprise. Akira's eyes widened as he watched The Mythical Grade orb began to change shape, its true form revealing itself—a short, two-bladed dagger.
"Inverted Spear of Heaven," Akira breathed, his voice tinged with awe. It was a weapon straight from manga they had read together.
Shu's reaction was almost instantaneous. Two strong magic barriers materialized in front of Shu, helping his claim to complete mastery over defense magic. However, the dagger pierced through the barriers like a hot knife through butter, a display that left Shu's defenses in shambles.
The barriers sparked as Mai pierced through it. Shu's ego takes a hit as his barrier is being cut so easily. right Infront of his eyes.
Mai's dagger hurried itself deep in Shu's chest. The impact of the strike knocking him off balance, but he summons one final barrier in a desperate attempt to push her away.
The audience held its collective breath.
The dust settles, revealing Mai and Shu on opposite ends of the arena. Shu's attack had worked!
