Aiden encourages Akira and Mai to search among the temporary transfer students, suspecting that the Nexus Point user might unknowingly be causing the surge in Neo-positive mana. In agreement, Akira responds, "Yeah, we'll keep an eye out."

Mai adds, "I hope it actually is one of the transfers, if not this could end being nearly impossible."

Akira and Mai continue their search for anyone with Nexus Point abilities among the new transfers, but it's been days with no success. They're starting to lose motivation.

One day, while walking down the main hallway, Akira notices something odd about two girls. Akira, senses a weird vibe from one of the girls in specific. Mai, cluelessly continues to talk to Akira. Akira decides to follow the girls once they pass.

Akira, can't shake the feeling that they might be onto something. They begin to follow the duo discreetly, blending into the occasional groups of people.

Mai spots Shu and gets distracted, meanwhile Akira watches one of the girls skillfully steals a special grade tool from Ash that was given to all top rankers as well. Akira sees this as an opportunity to confront her. Akira gets Mai's attention to back him up if a confrontation does happen.

(btw Ash is aware it got stolen and who it was and is just letting her go do he can get compensation from her or the school)

The two friends run after the other duo who don't seem to realise yet. As Akira hovered his hand over her shoulder, preparing to confront her. The girl seemed to sense Akira's utterly terrifying aura and abruptly stopped in her tracks and instinctively launches a powerful sonic blast at Akira.

Everyone in the hallway paused and reverted their attention to the scene. As the smoke and dust cleared, Akira stood completely unharmed and unfazed.
