9 Accident
Tyler was poured cold water as he received the bad news.
"Accident?! What happened?" He asked frantically at the librarian.
"Calm down, there was a call from the hospital. Your mother was involved in a road accident while she was riding a cab. It was hit and run apparently with the suspect still at large." The librarian explained.
Tyler's word was shaking right now. His felt lightheaded, tons of thoughts are spiraling in his head.
The librarian was at daze at Tyler's reaction. She was not a psychologist but she knows that this is taking a toll on Tyler's mind.
She tapped the shoulder of Tyler which burst him out of his turbulent bubble.
You're excuse for tomorrow's fixing and focus on your mom.
The librarian urged Tyler to already go out.
Tyler did not waste any time and immediately went out.
He called his father, the ringing didn't stop until a few more tries.
"What happened to mom!"
"I don't know! A mothef*cker was speeding and hit the backside of the taxi she was riding. She was the one with utmost danger instead of the driver." His father was even more frantic in this matter than he is.
Tyler's father thought in his heart that he should've accompanied her and drove her even with just a motorcycle. Who would know that such a reckless dumb b*astard was speeding.
He was cursing himself.
Tyler didn't ask more of his mother's condition and asked which hospital his mother was admitted to.
"We're at the Luke's Saint Hospital, she's currently in the intensive care unit."
Tyler ended the call; he didn't want to bring more stress to his father by talking about the situation. It would be better if he himself just went over there.
He went outside the campus and called for a cab.
After a few minutes he arrives.
He asked in the information desk which way is the ICU, he was instructed and headed immediately.
He arrived by the door of the ICU with his father sitting at the side and his sister crying in his arms.
Tyler looked sad but even more so afraid of what the outcome of the operation would be.
He sat down by their side, the silence so loud.
A few hours have passed and finally the time they have waited has come.
They all stood up with expectant eyes staring at the doctor.
The doctor was unfazed and looked at them.
"Congratulations, the operation was a success." The doctor let out a hearty smile.
Tyler and the rest of his family give out an extensive sigh and smiled with tears falling out.
He couldn't control his emotion no more and he fall to the ground.
He was glad, he doesn't have clear knowledge on the current condition of his mother. For once after he acquired the akashic records, he felt useless.
His strength left him as his wish had come to fruition.
"I'll be sending your mother in a ward shortly after, you'll be informed if you're already able to seem her." The doctor informed with a smile in his face as he left to attend to his other duties.
Tyler and his family were delighted to hear the news.
The nurses that accompanied the doctor all left in order, Tyler was able to notice someone's back that was quite familiar but he decided to forget it as he couldn't help but focus on his mother.
After a while, his mother was able to go out of the ICU and was given a sole ward. Another time passed before they were able to see her, she was still unconscious and yet to wake up.
"How come she's not awake yet? "My sister worriedly said as she looked at her sleeping mother.
"The doctor had already said that she's fine, don't worry and wait patiently." Tyler's father reminded.
As they were talking, his mother's finger begun twitching. Tyler saw this and immediately called for his father.
The father and daughter duo went back to look at the woman sleeping in the hospital bed.
They were excited but that excitement died down very shortly, their energetic mother with calm demeanor turn to someone else.
Tyler's mother jumped from the bed with an afraid look on her face, she was vigilant to her surroundings.
"Mom, are you okay?" Tyler was puzzled by the situation, he never seen his mother like this. Was the surgery a failure.
Seeing that his mother seemingly is inattentive to him, his worries grow as his head was filled with nonsensical thoughts.
His father tried to his wife, but he was slapped and his hand was slapped.
The arm that was slapped was oozing blood as a giant scratch mark was visible.
Unbeknownst to everyone, the fingernails of Tyler's mother have grown a few inches. Though this did not pass by through Tyler as his eyes widened.
How could he have missed this?! It was similar to the curse that told by Quin. It's the curse that was affecting other students in town. Seeing that the target of the curse this time was his mother and not any other students, it must mean the perpetuator is Elijah.
He had foreseen that she would target him and her family and thus he had activated that barrier. He failed to comprehend that at some point, they would live the house. He should've have given a talisman to his parents directly.
By the looks of it the driver should've been the primary suspect, after settling the curse on her mother he would surely locate proactively search for Elijah.
Tyler put up two of his fingers and struck his father and sister at the back of their heads. This rendered them unconscious.
This was now between Tyler and his mother.
He constructed talisman, many of it and proceeded to bind his mother. With ancient incantation, the nature energy disrupted and absorbed the curse energy inside of his mother.
This caused a turbulent change in the aura around the hospital. Of course, an unwanted person took notice.
