Gero is the leader of the revolutionary movement New Way. Under orders from the Revolutionary Army commanders-in-chief, he was sent to the east to encourage the Way of Peace to revolt. To do this, Gero began to gently indoctrinate the cult members that their true goal was to fight against the Empire that was oppressing their people. Also, to promote the rebellion, he began smuggling weapons into the east through smugglers, which could aid the cultists in the rebellion. Everything was fine, until the Empire got wind of the fact that someone was supplying weapons to the East, after which it sent a special Omega military unit, which had previously destroyed rebel camps and bases in and around the Capital. Initially Gero hadn't paid much attention to it, thinking that one unit wouldn't be able to make a difference. It was only later that he realised how wrong he had been. First, all the spies he had sent to monitor the unit disappeared, then the Omega fighters attacked one of the largest warehouses in the gorges, and after that they began to storm all the warehouses in and around the city. Gero had one last hope for the help sent to him - two members of the Night Raid who had been sent to get rid of the Omega....

- I hope you came to me with good news? - Gero asked as the Night Raid assassins entered his office.

- You were right. The warehouse you sent us to was indeed attacked. Except it wasn't Omega Group. - outlined Bulat, dressed in Incursio armour.

- Who was it then?

- The two rakshasa demons you warned us about.

- Both have been eliminated. - Akame added, devouring the meat on a stick.

- That's good news. But Omega is neither cold nor hot about losing them.

- I've been meaning to ask: why can't we attack their headquarters? - Akame asked, since after their arrival, Gero had forbidden attacking the headquarters, citing that it would only make things worse.

- There's a good chance that when the Imperial government finds out about the attack on Omega's headquarters inside the city, they'll send an army here, mistaking it for an uprising. And that can't be allowed to happen... not now.

- I see.

- Then how do we get rid of them? - Bulat asked.

- The only solution I see is to ambush them at the main warehouse.

- Isn't that too risky?

- Too... but I don't see any other solution. Those warehouses they destroyed were some kind of hiding places. They'd send in five to seven men to clean them out, and that was enough. But the main warehouse is much better guarded, and they'll use their full force for a successful attack. And they'll probably use other guards as well.

- So... our task is just to wait? - Bulat clarified.

- Yes. As soon as they enter the gorges, we will strike. My men know these places like the back of their hands, we have an unequivocal advantage.

- We'll trust you. - Bulat said, to which Gero nodded.

Akame and Bulat left Gero's office and went outside.

- What do you think about his idea? - Akame asked.

- Honestly, I think he's just being really neat. The Empire would notice a missing unit anyway. But there's some sense in what he's saying.

- Mm-hmm. I want to head into the city and follow Omega.

- Akame. Gero said his spies sent to follow Omega are missing.

- I'll be more careful.

- You do realise I can't go with you, right?

- I know. That's why I promise to be careful.

- Okay. But you promised.

- Mm-hmm.

***

- What does that mean?! - Borik was outraged.

- That's what it means. To attack the revolutionaries' main warehouse, we'll have to use all the most experienced guards in the city. Including yours. Or should I remind you that the city guards are not your personal guards? - Anna explained.

- What about my defence?! You need to be reminded that my personal protection!... Because of you! Killed!!!

- The death of the rakshasa demons was indeed a surprise. But apparently, they weren't strong enough to deal with the Night Raiders.

- What do I care?! You can't just take my entire guard!

- Not yours, the town's, for one thing. Secondly, I'm not taking all my guards, just half. But if you don't want to part with it so badly, we can compromise.

- What compromise?

- I'm talking about your trump card, Borik. The man who owns the Teigu Adayusu. You can keep all your guards if you lend him to us during the operation.

- That's it? - Borik has calmed down a bit. - Then you can borrow him.

- That's fine. You can wish us luck and drink to our speedy victory.

- With pleasure, I will. - said Borik, giving Anna and her guards a glance, and it was only when she had gone that he gave his thoughts free rein. - FUCKING BITCH!!!

***

In the meeting room, four Omega officers were gathered around the map, Leon, Mia, Hector, and Ghost. All four were discussing a plan to attack the revolutionaries' main warehouse. Since the decision to gather a large number of soldiers and attack head-on seemed like a suicide mission, the officers were thinking of a diversion plan. According to this plan, Leon, Ghost and Mia, plus five more Omega fighters should plant a bomb inside the warehouse. According to the information received from the prisoner, the explosion would be so powerful that it would be heard by the entire east. After that, the guards under the command of Hector and Anna will come into action, whose goal is to finish off the remaining revolutionaries.

- Mia, not far from the main warehouse there is a cave on the top of the cliff, from where you can sniper fire. - said Ghost, pointing to a spot on the map.

- I see what you're getting at, but the revolutionaries are bound to come running to the shots.

- You have to provide us with cover, only if the quiet diversion goes wrong. Between a sniper and an intruder inside the warehouse, they'll pick the intruder. As a last resort, run.

- Got it.

- Who are we going to take for the sabotage itself? - Leon asked.

- I have the right men in mind, so you don't have to worry about that. Hector, what about the help of the local guards?

- They've issued what they say is a full complement of able-bodied soldiers for the attack. As soon as there's an explosion, we'll go straight into action.

- That's good. Now, a question for the future. Regarding the Way of Peace.

- What's wrong with the Way of Peace? - Mia asked.

- Even after the destruction of the warehouses, the revolutionaries are unlikely to stop trying to push the cult into rebellion. At most they will delay the moment. - Leon explained.

- The commander, she said, has an idea about them. We can only count on her. - said Hector.

- I think we can stop here. - said Ghost, to which everyone nodded.

All the officers started to leave the room, and only Leon remained in the room, looking out the window, behind which nothing could be seen but the night darkness.

"Something's wrong..."

***

Anna was walking accompanied by four of her men and the owner of a teigu called Adayusu. This teigu had been lost during the civil war and had recently been found during an excavation, so there was absolutely no information about its abilities. The owner of the teigu himself was a tall, slender man with brown hair, arrogant in character, and his outer clothing reminded Anna of the drug dealers she had personally arrested, and the cigar in his teeth only reinforced that image.

- Mrs Anna. Do you happen to have a man? - Horimaka asked.

- No. No one suitable.

- Maybe I'll be a match for you, then.

- If during the attack on the warehouse you show what you can do, then maybe I'll think about it.

- Ha ha ha ha... then please watch closely as I chop this rubbish into pieces! - Horimaka said smugly, twirling his scythe in his hand.

- Yes, yes, of course.

"Eh, that's why the hell do I get hit on by Horimaka like this?" - the girl thought with a heavy sigh.

Horimaka complimented Anna on the way and just showed off, but she paid no attention to the man, walking in silence.

When it wasn't far to the temporary headquarters, the girl suddenly stopped, feeling the aura of death emanating ahead.

- Commander... is something wrong? - A fighter asked.

Anna signalled to the soldiers to draw their weapons, and they immediately prepared to fight, while the aura was felt more and more strongly. Horimaka also realised that something was wrong and drew his scythe.

- There's no use in hiding. I know you're in there. - Anna said into the darkness.

- ...

As if stepping out of the shadows, there appeared a girl who was known to the whole capital by sight. In her hand was the katana from which Anna felt the aura of death - Murasame.

All of the Omega fighters got into a fighting stance, and Horimaka immediately lunged at Akame with a scythe.

- Stop, you idiot! - Anna shouted, but the man didn't listen.

Horimaka, bringing his scythe, struck a blow that the girl blocked with her katana, after which she made a chopping blow and bounced back from Horimaka's subsequent attack.

- Ha, you're not as dangerous as you say," Horimaka interrupted, feeling the pain. His gaze focussed on his arm, which had a trail of purple markings from a poisonous curse. - B-just... from... a... scratch...? - was all the man could manage to say as he fell breathlessly to the ground.

- Don't even think about attacking her, understand? Focus on your defence and don't let yourself get hurt. - Anna gave orders to her men.

- Yes! - All soldiers are on the defensive. Akame is one of the strongest and best assassins in the Empire. She cannot be underestimated.

- Eliminate. - The girl said, rushing towards the group of soldiers.

No sooner had she reached them than she immediately bounced away from a bullet that exploded with a rumbling explosion almost next to her. As soon as the smoke cleared, Akame saw Anna holding her weapon, a black pistol with a red haze emanating from it.

- That's a teigu, isn't it? - Akame asked.

- That's right. It's my teigu. - Anna confirmed and shot at Akame again, but she easily dodged it.

Anna's teigu was a pistol that looked like a revolver, but there was no drum magazine. Its main feature was its four firing modes: single shot, rapid fire, shotgun, and charge. This teigu was also lost during the civil war, as was Adayusu, so Anna had to learn the teigu's abilities herself. Since its name had been forgotten, she exercised the right to give it the name, "Judge".

In a duel between Anna and Akame, the advantage goes to whoever is farthest or closest, and right now the scarlet-eyed girl had the advantage. The girl, tearing at Anna, easily dodged the shots, moving out of their flight path. As soon as she reached her target, she was blocked by the Omega soldiers, who immediately attacked the girl as soon as she got close enough.

- Stop!" Anna shouted, but it was too late. All four of her men fell to the ground with a venomous curse. - 'I told you... it's useless for you to attack her...'

Akame approached Anna and was about to slit her throat, but her attack was blocked by the knife, then she bounced away to avoid getting shot in the stomach.

- Don't expect me to die so easily! - Anna shouted, changing the firing mode on her gun.

A shot from the Judgement - and Akame flew off into the wall as the blast was more powerful than before. Anna changed the firing mode again - her pistol became more rapid-fire. Akame, using her speed and the terrain conditions, had to concentrate on dodging the shots; Anna, on the other hand, didn't give the girl a chance to take a breather. And when Anna stopped firing to cool her gun, Akame immediately rushed towards her and started launching attacks at Murasame, trying to slash at Anna that she dodged or blocked.

- I kind of feel bad that such talent is serving the Revolutionary Army. You could have been defending the Empire. - said Anna, blocking the girl's attacks.

- The Empire was rotten a long time ago....

- And when the revolution wins, a "Harmonious world where people live in peace" will be built? Don't make me laugh! - Anna shouted, firing a shot from the Judge again. - When the revolution wins, the Empire will fall into decay. The lack of official authority, anarchy, and power struggles between those who see themselves as the new Emperor will collapse this country. And the neighbouring countries and tribes, angry at the Empire, will destroy the state, weakened by the civil war... And who will be to blame for this? I'll tell you - the revolutionaries!

- Lies!" shouted Akame, trying to hurt the girl again as she almost caught a shotgun blast to the face, but thankfully she yelled back in time.

- Really. You think the revolution is a benefactor? You know what it's like to kill and hear the same words: "It's for the good of the Empire". Or have you forgotten how the Elite Seven died?!

- Shut up!!!

At that moment, it was as if a bolt of lightning struck Akame. With fury in her eyes, she began to deliver blow after blow, preventing Anna from using her teigu, leaving her to dodge and block the attacks. With a powerful blow, the girl knocked the knife out of Anna's hands.

- It's over. - The girl said, about to slit Anna's throat, but the girl smirked.

No sooner had Akame wounded the girl than she was hit in the stomach, flying into the wall and leaving cracks in it. The girl began to gulp greedily for air before raising her gaze to Anna.

- It's nothing personal, Akame. - Anna said, picking up her knife. - But your opponent will be him!

A one-eyed guy with golden hair stood in front of the girl, looking at the lying corpses of his comrades, then slowly walked towards Akame. Leon began to press the girl with bloodlust, the air became heavier and his eye seemed to glow with a blue light in the darkness. Akame pointed her Murasame's blade at her enemy with trembling hands, and then, shortening the distance, began to deliver stabbing blows, but the guy easily parried them, not stopping to walk, pressing the girl.

As Akame's strikes began to weaken, Leon took the initiative, launching stabbing and chopping attacks. The girl was unable to block them all, and wounds began to appear on her body, especially in the arm area. Gradually it began to dawn on Akame that she wasn't going to win this fight.

"We have to run!" - Realising that she couldn't win, the girl decided to retreat. Throwing a smoke bomb under her feet, the brunette bounced back and turned around, about to run away, but was suddenly shot in the leg.

Akame fell to the ground with a painful cry, grabbing her leg. Leon approached the girl from behind, and she tried to wound him with her katana despite her wound, but Murasame was knocked out of her hands at the same moment.

- Did you really think you could just run away like that? - Anna asked, holding the Judgement in her hand with red smoke coming from its muzzle.

Akame remained silent. She tried to stand on both legs, but one of them was seriously injured, causing her to fall to the ground.

- Are you serious? - Anna asked, watching the girl crawl towards her sword.

Akame was about to pick Murasame up, but the katana was picked up by Leon. The boy began to look at the weapon curiously. Holding the sword by the hilt, he ran his hand over the blade, which caused both Akame and Anna to be shocked because it was deadly.

- A magnificent sword. - At that moment, Leon, like Akame, felt a faint pulse.

The young man had a feeling of unity with the sword, while Akame's eyes showed fear.

"It's compatible with Murasame?!"

- Ha ha ha ha, Leon! Apparently, you've finally found yourself a teigu! - Anna declared.

At that moment, Leon and Anna heard a whistle, and both of them bounced away from the girl. Where the two officers had been standing before, a man in white armour appeared. Taking Akame in his arms and picking up his spear, he jumped onto the roof of the house and ran away from the battle scene. Leon wanted to chase after them, but he was stopped by Anna.

- Let them run.

- What?!

- We'll let them go now. But after that, we won't let any of them go.

- I don't understand you.

- Don't even try to understand what I'm thinking, Leon, it's useless. Now we must go back to headquarters and get some rest. After all, tomorrow... We will finish off the revolutionaries in the east!
