Back From the Dead

Axle's POV

I flew in my starfighter with my squadron on our routine patrol run. It was a normal relaxing procedure. The only exciting part of it is we're right at the borders of Republic and Separatist space. My squad consisted of twenty Z95 Headhunters. Our fleet was only a parsec away so we can call for backup if things get messy.

We were almost done with our patrol when my Lieutenant reported, "Commander, something big is coming out of hyperspace." I looked ahead to see a large Separatist Dreadnought of unknown design emerge from lightspeed, "Call for reinforcements." "Sir, our coms went dead. It's like they just snapped." The Lieutenant responded. Droid starfighters flew in to attack. "All units retreat." I ordered. We all U-turned around and activated the hyperdrive. Out of nowhere, I felt a huge blast and I went unconscious.

I woke up in restraints. I struggled to get out, but to no avail. "Look who's up." A voice said. I turned to see a masked man standing next to me, "Who are you?" He smiled, "I am many things. To my droids I am their Commander. To the Separatists I am a visionary. To the Jedi I am nothing." "What do you want?" I asked. He laughed, "You share an attachment to the young Togruta Padawan Ahsoka Tano. I have looked for an opportunity to capture you both and show the galaxy that betraying the Jedi code is not impossible." I struggled some more, "Leave her alone." The masked man walked over to the door, "Oh don't worry. I won't dare touch her. She will be fine. You on the other hand, will not be." I looked at him with confusion, "What do you mean?" He gave a sinister smirk, "I will kill you with her watching in full view of the universe." He closed the door leaving me to ponder on his words. I felt another shock and blackness covered my sight again.

I woke up to see Ahsoka chained in front of me. She caught sight of me being held up in restraints, "Axle! I'm so happy to see you're safe." I looked at her with sad eyes, "No. You shouldn't be here. It's not safe." she seemed a little surprised by my response, "What? I've gotten captured before." I still wouldn't take my eyes off her, "Ahsoka, this is not a normal prison. It's worse than the Citadel." she looked more worried.

A door opened and the masked man walked in, "Finally, I've got both of you together." I looked at him, "Please let her go. Don't let her see this." The masked person didn't move. I could feel Ahsoka panicking inside, "See what? Axle what do you mean?" She stared in my eyes and I stared back. The masked person walked over to a holo-projector at turned it on, "This broadcast can now be seen by everyone who cares to see it. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. To capture both of you was a challenge, but now I have completed it." I didn't take my eyes off of Ahsoka. The masked man continued, "You two share a special connection. Well, that will make this hurt even more." "Ahsoka listen to me. Look away." I said. She let out some a tears. The masked man held up a blaster to my forehead. I saw more more tears on Ahsoka's face as she strangled in her cuffs. I kept yelling, "Ahsoka look away!" she still didn't listen. "LOOK AWAY!!!" I yelled again, but her eyes were glued to mine. "AHSOKA!!!" The blaster went off.

My eyes snapped open. I jumped up from the ground and looked at my surroundings. There was rocks and grass and cliffs. I'm on Mortis. I scratched the back on my head, "How'd I get here?" "Ah, Grey Wolf. You have returned." A voice replied. I whipped around to see The Father standing there. "What's going on? How'd I get here?" I asked. The Father walked over the the edge of the cliff and looked up at the sky, "You are dead, as I am. However, when a Jedi dies, they never appear on Mortis." I looked around again, "So, what does that mean for me?" The Father stroke his beard, "This was not by accident. You were sent here for a reason. I don't know what reason. That you must find out on your own." I walked up next to him, "Ahsoka?" He nodded, "She is alive. It appears she took your body with her when she escaped. The bond between the Wolves of the force are strong, but I have never seen how strong the connection you and the White Wolf share." I looked down, "Will I ever see her again?" He looked at me, "I do not know. You must find out on your own." An owl flew down and landed on my shoulder. "Hey I know you. You were The Daughter's friend." I said, petting her. "Morai. Her name is Morai. She will be your guide." Morai took off toward a large field of grass in the distance. "Follow her." The Father instructed, "And may the force be with you." I nodded and took off after the owl.
