1 Chapter 1 - I am Alexander Felix.

He found himself on a straw bed. On top of him was a poor-looking roof stuffed with hay. Trying to stand up, he felt a stinging pain permeate his head, but it was bearable. At the very least, he was still alive, and that was still something. The young man walked inside the house, seeing nothing but a table, some wooden plates, an oven, a bucket full of water, a rug made of a big brown bear sprawled on the floor, and a green elk head mounted on top of a fireplace, he did not recognize any of this. He said in a cautious tone:

"Hello, is there anyone home?" No response came from this questioning, so he walked towards the thin wooden door that led to a grassland. In it, a good-looking man played with two small children with an average age of ten. Taking a step forward, the man raised his head to look towards him, which prompted the child to hit him with the wooden toy sword they were playing with on the stomach. With an exaggerated gesture, the man fell to the ground while holding his guts. The child circled him with a newfound nervousness, cautiously inspecting the presumed dead father, just for him to burst into screams, spooking both kids, which followed laughter.

"So you're awake, huh? That was one nasty fall." The man said, scratching the back of his head. "Oh, where are my manners? I am Tom, and these are my children."

"Terry." "And Tinna." The kids said proudly.

"I... fell? I don't remember. What is my name?"

Tom became visibly concerned, his eyes narrowed looking at the young man. He left out a sigh. "In any way, it's getting late. Why don't we eat something? You look famished."

An eery grow could be heard on the silent field, clearly the sound of an empty stomach. "Y-yeah... I would appreciate that."

"Then it's decided, we will make a feast today!"

"Ooh, a feast!" Both Terry and Tinna said at the same time, a hungry smile on their faces.

With the newcomer, the family went all inside, where they started preparing a "feast" that consisted of porridge and potato soup.

While cooking, Tom refused to let the guest cook, saying that:

"It is a dishonor for the family if a guest serves the host."

He was adamant in his position, which showed his principles and that he spoke from the heart.

When they were seated on the square table, Tom put his hands together and said in a pleading voice.

"Our Lord, please bless this meal and all that believe in you, guard our homes and keep the plague away, keep my son Terry healthy for the harvest, and my daughter Tinna pure and beautiful. Let Tom from Hay village, myself, live long enough to see my daughter marry herself and my son put his life together. And our guest..." He trailed off, noticing that they did not know the name of their new friend.

"Oh, oh, since you don't know your name, can we give one to you?" Said Terry, agitated.

"Yes! Please mister. It will be so fun!" said Tinna.

"Terry, Tinna, behave yourselves! How can you ask something like that?!"

Before anyone could say anything else, a burst of light laughter started to sprout from the unnamed man's face. A smile grew exponentially on his face.

"Sure, it does sound fun! What should my name be?" A gentle bearing emanated from him, like a Budha. His eyes, full of tenderness, looked at both kids expectantly.

"Mister seems powerful. In that case, you will need a fierce name! What about Alexander?" Terry said happily.

"That's a good name! Terry, strong and noble, I like it." Said the man.

"But mister should have a happy life and is also really kind, so what about the name Felix?" Tinna added timidly.

"That's extremely sweet of you, Tinna. I am honored."

"So, which will it be?" Asked the children, Tom did not intervene this time, intrigued to see how he would get out of that one.

"Hmmm, both are pretty good, but I don't like either."

"What, why, mister?" Asked both.

"Because they are names that you thought only thinking on yourselves, true success is shared between brothers." That shocked the family. Both siblings stayed there open-mouthed. "But, if you take your qualities and weaknesses and add them together... then you get a whole, a whole that you can share, in other words... I will use both names!"

After hearing that, the kid's smiles were broad as can be.

"But... which will be the first name?" Asked Terry.

Hearing that, the discussion for the name started to heat up again. But this time Tom was clement and said.

"Why don't you decide that with a game of rock, paper, scissors?"

After the kids decided that, a disputed game started in which Terry came victorious with a smug smile.

"How did you know what I was going to put, brother?"

"You always choose stone when it's on the decisive one, sister."

"It's decided then. My name will be Alexander Felix."
