Chapter 40

Leon instructed and Little Red nodded her head obediently. With that said the bike started to ride off by itself and Leon ran forward to where he had heard the scream.

Leon took a step forward and...

{Booooooooom}

His body was ragdolled to the side by a gas explosion that had leaked from the building nearby.

Leon blacked out from the pressure of the Explosion and didn't wake up until a few seconds later, he looked around in confusion before remembering what had happened.

'I'm still alive.. damn I'm one lucky son of a bitch.' Leon slowly stood up and looked in the direction he was heading to. In the distance, he could see a mother trying to grab something underneath a giant stone slab.

'What was she trying to reach.' That's what he thought before seeing a small hand come out of the hole the mother was sticking her hand into.

'So her child was buried and trapped underneath the giant rock.'

If it weren't for the metal pipe holding the rock up the kid would have probably already become a pancake.

{Creeeek}

But it didn't look like that metal pipe was going to last long plus the mother and child were too big to crawl in or out of the small gap.

' One more, let me just save one more then I can go home.' Leon's body didn't want to stand like something was trying to way it down, but Leon's mind refused, even when he felt the taste of Iron in his mouth he didn't stop moving.

He limped his way to the side of the stone slab, the mother and child couldn't see him as the fog was too thick.

Leon looked at the rock and grimaced. It had to have weighed a lot just from its size alone.' Could he lift something like this, he was strong but he had already exerted himself from the other rescues and knew he was on his last legs. But he had to try, he just had to.

He squatted down and got a good hold of the rock underneath, trying his damned hardest to lift it even by a few centimeters...but reality hit him with a cold punch to the stomach as no matter how hard he tried he just couldn't lift it.

' Lift dammit, Lucia could have easily lifted this and so can you.' Of course, he knew that was just wishful thinking but he had to at least try thinking positively.

But instead of lifting the rock was instead slowly sinking crushing the metal underneath its weight. Leon despaired when he felt that sensation, the mother and child seemed to have felt it too as the mother cried out and the child Scratched and clawed her surroundings but to no avail.

"Is this how it will end...can I do nothing, I...I" Leon's vision was starting to go dark and he feared he would black out at any moment.

That's when a certain memory came back to him, Of from a few days ago.

'Leon I don't want you to shy away or even be scared of them, every being in this world and universe has desires, whether it be money, Men, woman, power, Family, Religion, or good health they are all desires people crave. As beings of thoughts and feelings this is natural, what I want from you isn't to shy away but to control your needs.'

'I want to save this mother and child..no I will save them..no matter what I'll save them and get out of here alive.'

Unknown to Leon or anyone else, the condition that had been injected into Leon when he was a baby had suddenly activated. The condition that was made to make women horny started to affect Leon's body in ways he would have never imagined. The testosterone and adrenaline levels in his body surged to supernatural degrees.

And a certain part of the brain that existed to hold back the human body from exerting 100% of its true strength shut off.

Pain, agony, soreness, discomfort, struggle. Leon felt none of that. His eyes that had been slowly closing opened wide with focus and his pupils dilated to the size of a small rock.

The active cells in his body started to vibrate and shake with excitement and his blood vessels pumped around his body at frightening speeds.

Cracks appeared on his bones but they too were healing to an unnatural degree.

{Thump thump, thump thump, thump thump}

If a doctor had recorded Leon's heartbeat at this very moment they would have looked at Leon like some freak of nature...because for all intents and purposes he shouldn't be alive as his heart was beating at 652 beats per minute.

The stone slab that had weighed two tons slowly started to rise confusing the child, while the mother quickly pulled the child out but it still wasn't enough.

Leon used everything he had and lifted it a few more inches before the gap was big enough for the child to crawl through.

Leon witnessed all this in slow motion and when he saw that the child had escaped his body immediately collapsed.

{BANG, CRACK}

The rock hit the ground with a loud bang and it cracked down the middle. Leon was struggling to breathe as he leaned his body on the rock he had just lifted.

" I...did...it." A tired but proud smile graced his lips. Leon was so happy that he managed to lift it, now he could finally go home and...Guuu..gffg."

Leon was going to stand up so he could leave but the moment he tried to something slowly started to come out of his throat and into his mouth.

He opened his mouth and what come out shocked him. It was blood...his blood. He wanted to lift his hand and touch it to see if he was dreaming but he couldn't even do that.

That was when the feeling in his body started to return. He felt an agonizing amount of pain in his chest so he looked down.

What he saw caused him to look in disbelief, like everything he's done until now was like a big cosmic joke.

That was because in the middle of his chest there was a Woden steak sticking out. He had been stabbed from his back and it went straight through the other side.

' When did this happen..how...how..wait, could it be when that Explosion happened? But why didn't I feel anything? Why...why I was so close..no I can still get out of here, there still that mother and...there gone.'

Leon had just noticed now that they had already left. And he was alone, he couldn't use his smartwatch, his body has broken down to the cell, and there wasn't a single rescue team in sight.

'Am I really going to die again? dammit, why..why did I not leave when I had the chance...why couldn't I have been a little bit more selfish and stayed on that hill...why didn't I leave when I knew I probably couldn't save that kid...

I know why...because I knew what it felt like, to be in a hopeless situation...isn't that how I died and got reborn into this world?

Everything started to slow down as his head slowly starts to fall. His last thought were...

"I'm sorry mum, looks like we're not going to be able to have that mother-son outing after all...

I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble Lucia...thank you for always taking care of me...
