the atmosphere inside the restaurant was rather dull today, unlike every day. some are reading magazines and newspapers. others were flirting, enjoying time with their loved ones.

It was a relaxing, comfortable, and modern interior double-storied restaurant in the City to satisfy the appetites of the customers. this was the place to rejuvenate tired spirits through lip-smacking delicacies.

the service was available round the clock at a high price due to its reputation and healthy and hygienic food made by professionally managed chefs.

they offer fresh, friendly, and fit food service. the food served was warily designed by the dietician keeping in mind the requirements of the customers. it provided a value that meets its price and reputation.

Emilia sat at her usual place next to the window. She was looking outside and saw mist-covered plants. the air was fresh, and some birds were flying around freely. she was enjoying the fresh air of the invigorating weather.

she was lost in admiring beauty. a man who was in his early fifties with a black suit, a well-built body around six feet in height, brown hair, and gray eyes. he was walking towards her.

'agent black rose, nice to meet you,'

the man said while sitting in front of her. she soon recognized him, the man was a chief. she knows it should be some high-profile case, or else he would have never wasted her time calling here. he would have texted her.

'Hello AD, I don't think you just want to meet.'

'I'm sure you had heard about the fire accident in the star hotel yesterday, we found agent k dead body, but the reason for his death was he was stabbed multiple times near the abdomen.'

'so they burned the entire hotel to make it look like a fire accident to avoid police investigating and to destroy the evidence,'

she continued, The chief nodded his head, he knows she was the right one to handle this case. she was just twenty-three, inexperienced, and still he wanted to give this to her.

'Not every piece of evidence was destroyed, agent k sent this file to me before he died, and I can't risk anybody knowing about this.'

he kept a file on the table, not wasting a single second, and she grabbed a file. she started flipping the pages.

but one page got her attention, her only reason to work as an agent was to find him and kill him. she never expected she will get a chance this early.

she knows this case was connected to so many crimes and deeper than it seems, some powerful and prominent people were involved in this.

nearly twenty agents died while solving this case, agent k being one of them. He was killed because of this file.

until this was near her, this evidence will be safe. what about her safety?

a deep chuckle escaped from her. She looked at his superior and scoffed. Her arrogance and impudence had offended him. but still, he couldn't do anything.

she was more powerful than him, she can destroy his life with a snap of her fingers.

she knows how cunning, tricky, and wily can an agent be. she was one of them, and in this mission, one needs at least ten years of experience in the field.

what is the reason for giving this mission to her?

what was his intention for giving this to her? they wanted to close this case?

who are they protecting? and why?

If they want to protect them, then why would they give her this mission?

she shook her head when she find his intentions beyond this 'what is your intention behind giving this mission to me?'

she asked him even after knowing his intentions, but she wanted to listen from him, to know how far he goes to find them.

he gritted his teeth, before answering her question.

'It's not in my hands, It was ordered by higher officials that, to give it to a young agent. I know they want to protect them, this case nearly killed twenty agents, my wife was one of them,'

he looked at her hopefully, despite that his eyes reflected anger, helplessness, and filled with vengeance.

'the main intention was, I know no matter what you will find and kill those, who committed those crimes.' the chief finally revealed his intentions openly. he was waiting for her response. he had no other way to take vengeance for her wife.

she took a deep breath and hesitated for a second,

once she starts to find him. there is no way to back off.

'AD, I need you to arrange a team, who are good at breaking law and rules but loyal. there was a mole in our department who was feeding details about the agents.'

Emilia was sure there was a mole in the department who was leaking information or else they would never find out about those agents. they were one of the best and most skilled agents, no way they should find out about them.

'you should suspend us. I'm sure the few people who know about this, the safe we will be. It allows us to finish this mission illegally when we are suspended,'

when those words escaped from her mouth chief looked at her like lost her sanity. It had alarmed him when he realized her intent.

he just wants the person behind those crimes should die, it doesn't matter how. he can't suspend them without any reason, and others will be suspicious.

'I can't suspend, without any reason, but I'm sure you will find a way. I will text you about the team

when I finalize them. you are right we can't trust anyone.'

he was sure about one thing, she will complete this mission successfully, and no matter what price it takes, she will pay for it.

now he can't even aid her when she needs him. Emilia was not even trusting him. when he heard, she will do it in an illegal method.

'Can you provide me information about agent k. where he went? whom did he meet? how many did he meet? what was he doing? the day he was murdered.' she said.

she knows the reason behind his death, but she needs to find the person who murdered him. This case has many leads to get down to. It was easy to find the criminal who recently did a crime.

'I will provide information, to the team as soon as possible, and text you. good luck.'

with that, he left from there. she looked at him until he left the restaurant.
