26 What it means to be a Monapart

Julius Monapart spent 300 years as the world's emperor without an heir. He didn't have any sons or daughters. His subjects often asked him why and he only said he didn't want to have a child.

His wives begged him for children but he never relented. No one could understand why he didn't want children and even rumors spread about how he couldn't have children.

That continued until one day his wives planned together to trick him into making children. So they drugged his food with sleeping drugs and raped him.

Only one of his wives got pregnant. Everyone was overjoyed with the news, the entire kingdom started preparing parties to celebrate. But Julius, who discovered the news one day later than everyone else... Furious isn't enough to describe how much he screamed that day.

But even then, he couldn't bring himself to punish his wives. Unfortunately, he had a very good reason he didn't want children, a reason his wives didn't knew because he was afraid they would leave him because of it.

On the same day he discovered the whole incident of his wife's pregnancy, he and his wives disappeared from the royal castle.

In the first month of the emperor's disappearance, everything was still normal and the world was at peace. But by the third month, news of the emperor's disappearance spread, and soon rebellions broke everywhere.

Everyone wanted to be the new ruler so the conquest for land and power started.

The whole world was at war, billions of sentient beings died and entire races went extinct.

At the same time, inside the abyss. Julius brought his family as far down as they could handle and explained why they had to leave.

His wives' faces darkened and they couldn't help but cry and scream at him for not telling them earlier. If only he had told them earlier, they wouldn't be in this situation.

In the end, his insecurity and weakness before the ones he loved were the reason for his empire's destruction.

Nine months later, the baby was born and Julius Monapart died.

[ Name: Alexander Monapart ]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexander woke up to the sound of birds. The purple forest disappeared and became a normal green forest.

He didn't get up nor did he move a muscle after opening his eyes. He could almost physically feel a hole in his chest.

He felt empty, but weirdly he wasn't sad. Maybe he still didn't accept what happened.

Anyway, he didn't feel like moving so he just stayed like that for a long time, doing nothing. Around the fifth day, his stomach was rumbling with hunger and he didn't sleep a second, he had to get up

*Crack*Crack*Crack*

His bones and joints cracked as he moved for the first time after so long. He lazily stretched his body and went to get some food.

After he came back, he casually waved his hand to the side chopping down a tree. He used the wood to crave a beautiful tombstone with the name Evan Monapart on it.

He craved a board of chess and some pieces as well. He placed the tombstone in a beautiful place in the middle of what once was his last battlefield.

Then he placed the chessboard in front of it.

"I know it isn't your favorite game, but I only know how to make this"

Alexander stared at the tombstone for a while and finally turned his back to leave.

The more he distanced himself from the tombstone, the more the feeling of emptiness spread itself inside him.

"...Farewell Brother"

He slowly walked towards the canyon while looking around with a nostalgic feeling. Then he stared at his sword with an annoyed face.

Using his soul power on the curse, he made the sword turn into a bracelet.

Arriving at the canyon, he easily jumped to the other side and walked in the direction he believed was his old home. Some animals stared at him with curiosity but they didn't approach him like when he was younger.
