10 Bones Village

'I got a lot of meat and skin, I will make some clothes and cook some food, then set up some traps for tomorrow'

Thinking of my plans I found a larger tree with a hole in the middle. Upon entering the hole I found a good place to make the base, it was bigger than the cave and out of the ground so it was difficult to find.

Later, finishing cleaning my new base, I left to set up traps. I went a bit far because I wanted to find clean water, I have been drinking a lot of blood because the last base didn't have water, after searching for some hours I found a river, the water was clean and I could see some fish inside.

I followed the river to see if I could find any new monster, something with horns or claws I could use to make more weapons. Then, after walking for some time, a blue window appeared.

The system told me to leave but I wanted to know what was a level 3 creature. The rabbits were at level 1, and the spider was at level 2. It must be very strong.

I searched around and walked slowly, then I saw it, with a human body shape, it was around three meters tall, its body was muscular, its clothes were made of animal skin, skulls hanging from his necklace, and the most eye-catching was that instead of fingers it had big claws, the five claws were long and sharp.

'scary, I bet it could easily cut that spider in pieces'

I never saw something that terrifying. I was a little scared and started to leave, afraid the monster would hear my footsteps. I left carefully watching my footsteps but to my bad luck, the monster heard me and casually turned its head.

I saw the white light pouring from its eyes, I felt like my soul was being stared at, my body shuddering.

As it approached me slowly, I started to run. After some time, the river couldn't be seen anymore and I kept running and running, but the feeling of being chased didn't disappear, my senses screamed like the monster was always right behind me, staring at me with that white shining eyes.

I lost my breath and went behind a tree. I looked back searching for the monster, but I couldn't find it.

'Did I scape from him?... No, I think he didn't chase me at all'

*sigh* I sighed in relief.

But when I turned my head and saw the monster's face staring at me, he was so close I thought it would kill me right there. I froze, my mind screamed for me to run but my body didn't move.

It looked at me with a curious gaze, it seems to be thinking. I closed my eyes and started sweating cold praying it would just leave.

Then I felt a pain in my stomach, I opened my eyes and stared at the claw of the monster that pierced my chest, blood flowing out of my mouth, the monster removed the claw and blood flowed out.

The monster didn't leave after that, he just waited there watching me, he seemed like he wanted to know if I would die from that, and after an hour, my wound started healing and the blood didn't come out anymore, he made a slightly surprised face and grabbed a rock.

'Why? He could just kill me'

The monster got closer and with a swing, it smashed the rock in my head and I fainted.

I couldn't see anything, my eyes still tightly closed together, my mind couldn't think properly, but I could feel. I was being dragged on the floor, my thoughts recovering because of the pain, my arms and legs tied by a rope.

I open my eyes and looked around. We were still in the forest but closer to the center. The trees were higher and darker, they weren't purple anymore, but black.

Then, after some time, we entered a very strange place, there were skeletons all around us, spikes made of wood buried in the ground, and houses made of wood with bones inside them.

I could see a lot more of these monsters with claws. I was overwhelmed, there were too many of them. I couldn't fight even one and was in the middle of dozens.

The monster dragged me to a cave and tossed me inside it. The cave wasn't big and was blocked by a door made of bones.

"Are you okay?"

I heard someone, I was tied up so I couldn't move or do anything. I struggled trying to free myself, but I gave up after losing all my energy.

"Let me help you"

He approached me and untied the ropes. I look at him and started inspecting him, he was a bit taller than me, with blue eyes and black hair, his face looked very suspicious as he was staring at me with a smile.

"Who are you?" I gaze at him with deep hostility, all humans I encountered didn't leave a good impression.

He took two steps back and raised both hands in the air.

"Wow, calm down, we are trapped here together. I've been alone here for days and am just happy to finally have someone to talk"

It happened so fast that I hadn't realized it until now, the fact that I was in a cell again. Complicated feelings rose in my heart.

'I am imprisoned again, one year ago, I left the lab, I wanted to explore, know more about everything, but now, after so little time... I was caught again.'

I feel so weak, and small, I was starting to lose hope in myself.

'Can I truly live out there? I tried so hard but I still couldn't do it, in so little time I almost died so many times. I lost my friends and my home. I am not strong enough to do it? Am I not smart enough?'

"That is a very sad face you are making, did someone die?"

"That sucks"

"Do you wanna talk?"

"It happens. I lost my parents too you know, how old are you?"

"..."

"I am thirteen"

"Can you be quiet?"

"Maybe, if you tell me your age"

"I was born two years ago"

"Serious? You look like seven or eight. You are eleven years younger than me?"

"Yes, so please be quiet, I need to sleep" I lost a lot of blood and I needed to rest.

He smiled while looking at me.

"What?"

"Nothing"

"Why are you staring?"

"Not like I have anything better to do"

"Stop"

"Why?"

"Just stop"

"Why?"

"Do whatever you want then"

"Sure"

I ignored him and went to sleep.
