1918 Make an Appearance

The farm was expanded bit by bit and Qiao Mei's business became more and more prosperous. She hired many unemployed people in the town and improved everyone's lives. The town residents looked happy and smiled a lot more nowadays.

Every time Qiao Mei made her way home, the neighbors would come up to her and pass her all kinds of gifts, usually food made by them. Everyone wanted to express their gratitude to Qiao Mei.

"I guess we don't have to cook again tonight?" Xia He sat in the living room and asked with a smile.

"That's right. Look at all these things. There's apple pie, pizza, roast chicken, fries and so much fried chicken. I think we don't need to buy groceries anymore. We can just take a walk around the town every day and we'll have food to last us the entire day," Qiao Mei said resignedly.

"That's great. We can save money that way!" Xia He said.
