40 Begin Treatment

Elder Yan snapped back from his thoughts and looked at Qingcheng. He stared at her as if he never imagined Qingcheng would try to diagnose him. He asked in shock, "Young lady, you know medicine? I've already gone around to visit many, many doctors, but none of them were able to do anything. I've even looked for Doctor Yue, the genius doctor… but he said it is difficult to treat..." His expression looked disappointed.

Tealwood immediately cut in, saying, "Even if others couldn't heal you, it doesn't mean that my Master can't. Old man, why don't you just let my Master have a look?" Tealwood had reached a stage where he practically blindly worshipped Qingcheng.

Qingcheng glared at him. "Tealwood, watch your manners when you speak."

Tealwood made a face. "Yes, Master."

Elder Yan was a little embarrassed by this, but he did think of giving it a shot. What if there really was hope for him?

"Young lady, you can take my pulse. I'll believe in you." He held out his extremely bony left wrist.

Qingcheng listened to his pulse, and after a few moments, she quietly said, "Elder Yan, your broken dantian has caused all your Spirit Qi to flow out, and your body has taken quite a lot of damage. Could you roll up the pant leg of your injured leg?" Elder Yan did as she asked.

Qingcheng placed a finger on his knee and heel areas. "Your right leg bone is severely misaligned at the knee and the heel. Also, the joints in those areas have blood clots around them, and the veins there have been burst. But while it's not impossible for it to be completely healed, you will definitely go through a tremendous amount of pain during the treatment. I'm not sure if you'd be able to hang in there."

She was speaking the truth. She had gone through the experience of being transformed completely from the inside, and she wasn't sure if this old man could hold up against that degree of pain.

He looked at the young lady in front of him, who looked like she was only in her teens. She said it was possible to heal him! There really was hope for him! He didn't know why he trusted her completely, but his excited self couldn't stop trembling.

"Is that true? Can I really be healed? If I can be healed, then what is any pain compared to that? I can! I can!!" he answered. He was filled with resolution.

Elder Yan's reaction made Qingcheng feel even more satisfied with this old man. "Excellent. I'll start preparations in a while. I happen to have all the herbs that I need for your treatment, so we can start tonight."

Then she asked again, "Your son is in the courtyard behind here, right? Is it alright for me to see him? Perhaps I could heal him too…" Since she was going to treat the old man, she might as well treat them both.

The sky was already completely dark when they walked into the courtyard at the back.

Elder Yan pushed a door open and led the two of them in. The moment the door to the room was opened, someone from the inside called out, "Father? Is anything the matter?" The person speaking had a hoarse voice, as if he hadn't spoken in a long time.

"Xuan'er, I've brought two honored guests to see you! They might be able to heal your injuries!" Elder Yan's voice sounded excited and joyful.

Yan Xuan didn't believe his father right away. He looked at Qingcheng and Tealwood walking in behind his father and saw that they were both rather young. One was handsome looking, while the other exuded an above-average elegance. He was stunned for a moment but soon collected himself.

He was in a state of even more disbelief, now. "Father! You say these two can heal me? At such a young age? How highly skilled in medicine could they possibly be? Even the genius doctor, Doctor Yue, already said that there's no way for me to recover, so how would they be able to do anything? I think… I think we shouldn't bother wasting our time…" He did want to be healed very badly, but he didn't want to get his hopes high only to be disappointed again.

Tealwood was instantly annoyed. How could this guy speak like this?

He was about to say something in response, but Qingcheng stopped him with a glare, so he just stood there without speaking.

Qingcheng had already guessed that Yan Xuan wouldn't believe her so easily. After all, she was a stranger, and most people were naturally wary of strangers. Furthermore, she was supposedly a doctor despite being so young.

But she was in no hurry. She slowly walked over to the bed and got a good look at him with the light from the oil lamp next to them.

His messy hair was untied. He had well-defined brows and a pair of shocked looking eyes. The facial hair beneath his sharp nose was unshaven, and his dry and thin lips were slightly parted. His complexion was a bit pale.

Qingcheng didn't say anything and just picked up his wrist to take his pulse. She then sent some Wood Attribute Spirit Qi into his body to get a sense of his current state. Wood Attributes were filled with life energy, so it could sense and assess any living thing, and after a certain level of cultivation, it could also heal.

She ignored Yan Xuan's opinion and got up to say to Elder Yan, "His situation is a little special. Qingcheng seldom spoke so much to anybody, and she was actually trying to reason things out with him. Elder Yan was already looking at Qingcheng with eyes filled with gratefulness.

Tealwood's understanding of his master had been refreshed once more! He looked at Qingcheng with glittering eyes as he thought to himself, "Master is really good with her words! Everything she said sounded so logical!"

Yan Xuan was also deep in thought after hearing what Qingcheng said. After remaining silent for a while, he looked at her like he had made a decision. "Alright, I'll believe in you! If you are really able to heal me, then I, Yan Xuan, will be at your command for the rest of my life! I will pledge my allegiance to you, even if I have to die!" These words came from his heart. He felt that this young lady here was definitely no simple person! Besides, if he was really able to gain a new lease of life, he was going to repay her with everything he had and more!

Elder Yan was also moved by what his son said. "Young lady, if you are able to heal both of us, I, Yan Hai, will give my life to you!"

Qingcheng looked at this father and son and saw that they had really placed all their hopes in her. Since that was the case, she didn't delay any further.

"Alright. Remember what you said! I will need two rooms with a bathtub each. Also, during the process of the treatment, you will be tortured by terrible pain. Fifteen minutes later…

Two adjacent rooms were prepared with one bathtub each, and they were filled with water that had been boiled and was still warm.

In the left room, Qingcheng started dumping herbs into the tub: bone alignment wood, acanthopanax, wolfberry bark, du orchid, rehmannia glutinosa, fennel, and myriad aged vines, as well as the Sacred Fire Lotus from inside the interspace and five liters of Sacred Spirit Spring water. She used her Fire Element Spirit Qi to bring the water filled with herbs to a boil so that the herbs' medicinal effect would dissolve in the water.

Then she went to the room on the right and also dumped herbs into that tub: bone alignment wood, fennel, night plant, sarsaparilla, sinkiang arnebia root, flagleaf, cowstem, castor bean, Sacred Fire Lotus, and ten liters of Sacred Spirit Spring water. She brought all these to a boil as well to let the medicinal effect dissolve in the water.

She opened the door and told Tealwood, "Tealwood, move Yan Xuan into the tub in the room on the right. Remember to remove all his clothes before putting him into the water. Elder Yan, you will take the room on the left. Take off all your clothes before getting into the tub, and soak inside for 12 hours."
