Once they had filled up 40% of the step, they entered the intermediate stage, and if they filled up 70% then they entered the advanced stage. Once one had reached 100% they could finally be considered to have reached the peak stage. This meant that Raymond had only become a beginner 1-step spirit-refining cultivator.
