1 Rebirth

[Flora's POV]

There was a small path leading to a cliff in the dense forest and a small river below. As long as I could escape there, I would have a chance of survival.

My condition wasn't good. Even the most outstanding werewolf won't be able to escape unscathed from a battle with hundreds of adult werewolves. My body was covered in wounds, and the most serious one was the one on my back, since I couldn't feel anything on my back anymore.

My wolf, Annie, was panting heavily. She wouldn't be able to hold on for much longer.

I'm the Southwind Tribe's luna1. If it wasn't for the fact that my husband, the Southwind Pack's alpha, Marshall, had brought most of the tribesmen out to take care of some matters, the Blackrock Tribe wouldn't have been able to easily enter our tribe to kill and plunder.

Most of our men died in battle. I had to risk my life to escape from the encirclement. I had to find Marshall and have him avenge our dead tribesmen.

The wolf howls behind me didn't stop. The blood on my body was the signal to attract them. In order to get rid of them, I had a strong urge to enter the river and let the water wash away the thick scent of blood I have on me.

Someone was rushing toward me from ahead. I felt incredibly happy. It was Marshall. With Marshall around, I wouldn't have to fear the pursuers behind me at all.

"Marshall, you're finally back." I ran towards him excitedly. "The Blackrock Tribe sneaked into our tribe while you weren't around. Our men are all dead. Let's go avenge them."

"How did this happen?" Marshall screamed.

I held Marshall's hand and hurried back the way I came. "I'll explain things on the way. They're over there, hurry up and go… Ah!"

An excruciating pain exploded in my chest. I lowered my head and stared in disbelief at the sharp blade piercing through my chest, speechless.

"Didn't we agree to let me be the one to end her? What are you doing now?"

"I'm sorry, dear," Marshall said ingratiatingly. "She's too good. I was afraid that she'd counterattack before she dies and that it would hurt you, so I made a move early."

With that, the dagger that was stabbed into my heart was mercilessly pulled out. My strength slowly seeped away and I fell to the ground in a sorry state.

A woman came out of the dense forest, and my husband, Marshall, kissed her—the woman I hated the most, Beyonce—without any restraint.

I felt so disgusted that I vomited blood on the spot. Beyonce exchanged saliva with Marshall and turned around to face me. "Flora, you pretentious woman. From now on, everything of yours is mine!"

She reached out her hand to grab the necklace on my neck. My crystal necklace was the Southwind Tribe ultimate treasure, a holy object blessed by the Moon Goddess. This b*tch, Beyonce, wanted to snatch it while I was down? She wasn't worthy!

I curled my fingers and slapped her face with all the strength I had saved up while lying on the ground.

As expected, Beyonce fell to the ground. I took the opportunity to run towards the route I had planned at the start.

The situation was already very clear. My husband had betrayed me. Thinking back, the tribesmen who had died were all those who were dissatisfied with him doting on his partner. After he had teamed up with outsiders to kill those tribesmen, he still wanted to kill me. He wanted to take everything from me and give it to that b*tch, Beyonce.

I definitely wasn't going to let them have their way. Even if I was already fatally injured, I wouldn't let our tribe's treasure fall into the hands of this adulterous couple.

Wishes are beautiful, but reality is cruel. My injuries were too serious, and my wolf, Annie, was also covered in injuries. Even though I tried my best to escape, I was quickly caught up by the couple who had turned into their wolf forms.

The last decision I made in this life was to swallow my necklace without hesitation. I really didn't have the strength to put up a fight anymore.

Sharp claws pressed down on my body. Two hungry wolves with green eyes rushed over and tore my body apart.

That was my last consciousness. I cried resentfully, ending my life.

However, why did one's soul still hurt so much after dying?

I opened my eyes in pain and saw a familiar ceiling.

I had picked that tulip-shaped metal ceiling lamp personally at the furniture market before I got married. I definitely wouldn't be mistaken.

I was back home.

But how was that possible?

The pain of being torn apart still seemed to be right before my eyes. Everything that had happened before was real.

However, when I looked at my body, it was smooth, exquisite, complete and without any scars. It didn't look like it had been shredded up and then reassembled.

I was torn apart. No matter how much I recovered, it was impossible for there to be no traces of repair.

I endured the pain and got off the bed, planning to go out and see what was going on. However, I had just opened the door a little when I bumped into the person who had come to see me.

"Are you feeling better?" Lucy asked in concern after seeing that I'm awake.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I hugged Lucy with tears in my eyes. "It's so good to see you."

In order to cover my escape, Lucy was killed by the Blackrock Tribe. I had seen it happen with my own eyes.

But now, her embrace was so warm.

I had probably lived again. This might be a rebirth.

"I'm so glad you're awake. It's not worth putting yourself in harm's way to save the little wolf from the Deepcloud Tribe." She seemed hesitant to speak, but upon seeing that I was in good shape, she continued, "Marshall brought back a woman and said she is his mate."

My good mood from having survived was gone. Why did I have to be reborn on this day?
