You and I are getting married today

Heather woke up the next morning and found Alaric sleeping beside her. Her mind was flooded with what happened last night. She had her first kiss with her brother-in-law. However, she didn't let him do more to her since she still wasn't divorced.

She glanced at the naked torso of Alaric and gulped. There was a tattoo carved on his chest. She leaned close to him and read, "Devil's wings." Her eyes slightly widened to see that. Out of curiosity, she moved her finger to touch the tattoo when she shook her head.

'It is wrong,' Heather thought.

As she turned to get out of the bed, Alaric's rough hand caught her wrist and he placed her soft, cold hand on his chest. His skin burned with her touch and he opened his eyes.

"You own my body, so you can touch wherever you want to," Alaric said. "You don't need to do it when I'm asleep."

"I didn't do that. Let go of my hand." Heather tried releasing her hand from his grip.

Alaric smiled and let go of her hand. Heather swiftly moved away from him and stood on the floor. Alaric rested his head on his hand as he tilted to face her. "Resist as much as you want now. Soon, you'll be craving to touch me," he remarked.

"Why did you sleep without a shirt next to me?" Heather averted her gaze from him, gulping. She looked for his shirt and saw it was on the chaise.

"Well, I'm fully naked," Alaric said, making Heather stop at her place. He smirked to see her reaction and thought to tease her more. "Do you wish to see your soon-to-be husband n–" he couldn't finish his words as Heather stopped him.

"Get ready. We have to leave."

The next second, Alaric found his shirt flying at him and it landed on his face. He moved it down and saw Heather had gone to the washroom. He smiled and quickly got out of the duvet.

Suddenly, his phone rang, and he reached for it on the bedside table.

"Sir, the divorce is finalized. I'm heading to the mansion," the lawyer, Drake Watson, informed him.

"Excellent. I'll be there shortly," Alaric replied before ending the call. "Now, Heather will be all mine," he declared confidently, sinking into the plush sofa chair with one leg crossed over the other."

Prepare a banquet and invite everyone," Alaric instructed Drake. Drake Watson was not only his lawyer but also his secretary, his right-hand man, and most importantly, the best sniper he had.

"But sir, will everyone be present on such short notice?" Drake raised a doubt.

"Announce to everyone that I have invited everyone and whoever defies to attend the banquet shall be annihilated from their family!" Alaric remarked firmly.

"Yes, boss," Drake said and hung up the call.

Heather took a long shower before she emerged out of the washroom. Alaric glanced at her white and slender legs. His eyes stopped on her upper thighs. She was wearing Alaric's shirt.

"Darling, are you here to kill me?" Alaric took a deep breath and said.

"Wh–what do you mean?" Heather's face turned hot. She quickly covered her legs with the towel that had been around her legs.

"There is no need to hide them from me," Alaric approached her and leaned close to Heather's ears. "You got the exclusive privilege to feast your eyes on my body, and yet you are not willing to let me admire you in my shirt?"

"I—I have nothing to wear here. I just wear whatever I found," Heather stammered. Her heart was beating fast.

All this time, she had seen him only as her husband's younger brother. But right now, she didn't know if it was okay to feel the sensation she was feeling.

Alaric walked to her. He then wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her toward him. Heather's hand fell on his exposed chest. Although he had put on a shirt, it was still unbuttoned.

"Leave me!" Heather protested. "And B–Bring me some clothes." She tried to push him away while putting forward her demand.

"Why? I love to see you without clothes." Alaric gazed into her eyes, making Heather shudder under his gaze.

"Alaric! Have some respect," Heather glared at him. She didn't know why her body reacted so readily toward Alaric but she couldn't give in to him.

"I do respect you that I couldn't devour you last night," Alaric stated in a hoarse tone as he planted a soft kiss on her neck and sniffed the fresh smell of soap coming from her body.

"I am an impatient person, Heather. But for you, I waited for five long years!" Alaric asserted. "I can no longer wait to make you mine."

"I am still not divorced and I am a person with principles. Even though I asked you to marry me, we still have a long way to go," Heather proclaimed and was able to push him away finally.

Alaric smirked playfully as he took a few steps back and his hand hung in the air.

"You are right. I should wait for us to marry you before holding your frail body in my arms on the bed," Alaric smirked and he showed her his phone with a photo of the divorce paper that Drake sent him. "And you are divorced, Heather!"

Heather's eyes widened and she took the phone from his hand. She always saw Ryan as her eternal love. Seeing his name no longer attached to her, Heather felt peace.

"Don't cry. I cannot afford to see a single tear in your eye. I told you I would make you get rid of that rascal. Now, I'll make you mine. You and I are getting married today. You will become Heather Alaric D'Amato today," he affirmed with a determination in his eyes.
