1 HER SMILE AND HER DEATH

Paralyzed...

She felt that her whole body is paralyzed. She takes two blinks contemplating her situation, it's like she's already dead but her eyes are open. The doctors just finished injecting her those medicines she needed.

She moved her head

The door of her room is opened a bit and from there she saw her Mom and Dad talking to the doctor. She then closed her eyes heavily as she saw her Mom crying.

Another day for her to feel sorry about her existence.

"Hey good afternoon my beautiful niece" a cheerful voice of a woman echoed all over her hospital room. She opened her eyes then a woman with a long hair and thin figure walk towards her direction. She smiled tiredly to the woman and the woman immediately smiled back lifting the paper bag she was holding on her hand.

"I brought you some fruits you should eat this okay" a woman utter, acting like a strict teacher to her lazy student. She nodded and gave a fake smile to that woman.

" Hey are you okay?" The woman asked, worried.

She smiled remembering how good her auntie on reading people's emotion.

" It's a lie if I'll answer yes" She only replied

The woman immediately bit her lips "Blue-"

"It's okay Auntie its just I feel so useless and hopeless" She said and her Auntie stared at her like reading what's exactly her niece was thinking.

"Auntie I'm already aware that I'll die sooner so why you all still fighting for me? What don't you all just give up-" Her Auntie immediately cut her words "Blue!" By yelling her name. Now, her Auntie's bright smile fade and turn anxious.

"Don't say that okay we are fighting for you because we love you and we believed that you can still survive because you are strong, right?" As her Auntie cast those words, tears start to form at the edge of her eyes.

She nodded, unsure then take her gaze at the window to relax herself.

" Okay now sleep!" Her Auntie exclaimed playfully trying to change the atmosphere

" But I just woken up Blue start to gain energy, trying to erase those negative thoughts she had by joking. Her Auntie sat down in a small chair placed beside her bed. "Auntie I badly want to get up from this hospital bed" Blue said then show her kind smile but her Auntie's heart is tearing apart

Throughout, both of them is controlling their emotions.

Her Auntie forced a smile before she played Blue's hair onto her fingers You will soon" she whispered. Blue decided to close her eyes thought of controlling her tears to fall down gives a pain on her throat. One more hit and her tears will fall down which she didn't want to happen.

" Ow my niece!" Her Auntie suddenly exclaimed sounds so excited, So she opened her eyes again to see that her Auntie still there but is now holding a cellphone.

Blue's forehead crest in curiosity. "So as of the news meteor shower will be visible tonight!" Her Auntie's eyes brightened in excitement "When I was at your age I badly want to see a meteor so that I can wish on it to give me a boyfriend" Blue smirked and finally release a genuine smile, her Auntie never failed to cheer her up.

" Sounds crazy right? But I'm a hopeless romantic that time" Her Auntie added then smiled awkwardly feeling so embarrass about her teenage memories. Being childish and dumb. "Do you want to see one?" Blue immediately nodded, She suddenly became interested on meteor since she loved looking at the stars from this hospital room.

"Okay I'll tell to the nurse not to close your window tonight so that you can see one just hoping the sky will be on good condition tonight" Blue simply smiled at her Auntie before she took her gaze at the sky she can only see from the window, and the sky looks so fine. She smiled bitterly.

Contemplating how perfect the weather is to eat some ice cream, ride a bicycle and to play some outdoor games-

Things that she can only dream that will stay as a dream for her.

"Look who's here" She looked back confusingly as she heard her auntie's murmured

She roamed her eyes around and a young, fit and slim guy showed up.

"What did I miss?" He asked, then he put down his bag Nothing we're just talking about meteor shower that will be visible tonight" Her Auntie answered, if you see how they have a conversation it's like they are just on a same age "Ow my classmates are also talking about meteor, everyone seems

excited he utter then he yawned tiredly and stretch his arms, he seems tired.

Blue can't help herself but to wonder why he keeps on visiting her after school just to see her, His doing it for almost 2 years since she was confined at the hospital. No absents. But Blue just convinced herself that it is what friends do since he's her best friend since elementary. And it touches her heart how he made her feel that she wasn't left behind. He tells her every detail of his experience being a senior high school student so that Blue will never be confused about teenager's things.

" Actually they are talking about wishing at the meteor" he said as he massaged his own neck on the back using his left hand Yes we're also talking about wishes at the meteor" Her Auntie replied

His forehead crest, he looked so confused

" Is that true?" He asked.

"Not sure but nothing's wrong if we try...well, what if it's real what will you wish to the meteor?" Her Auntie asked the guy but it echoed on Blue's ears. Upon listening to their conversation it's like everything went silent she was astounded and start to ask herself:

What if it's real what will I wish?

Will I wish not to die?

She smiled at nowhere

No, she won't. "People are people we will all die soon. If it's our time then it's our time, everything is just borrowed we will give everything back at the end" that is her perspective. For her, wishing for eternal life is being greedy.

" Hmm if I had one wish then I will wish for Blue's recovery" the guy utter and it gave a warmth on Blue's heart. She looked at him find out he's also looking so serious at her.

"Ahh my heart you're so sweet there Kensho you two are perfect to be a couple" Her Auntie murmured with those weird tone of voice. Blue seems too slow to understand that her Auntie is teasing her to his friend

Blue dropped her head on her shoulder in confusion but Kensho only gave her an awkward smile.
