Trapped

In the predawn the moon shines brightly. Yena and Lucifer had returned to the lair after painstakingly escaping from Arion.

Under these circumstances, they could not force themselves to go to Rumi's apartment. Moreover, Lucifer is also injured so he can't face Arion again soon.

Yena's breath hitched. She staggered and threw herself on the bed. Her body shivered slightly. Probably in shock from being nearly roasted to death.

"You are okay?" asked Lucifer. He sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed the back of Yena's burnt hand.

He stuck out his forked tongue and licked the burn.

She was a bit surprised.

"What are you doing--"

"I didn't protect you well." Lucifer muttered.

Yena was stunned and looked at the man's gentle expression strangely. Why is it suddenly like this? why is he suddenly being too gentle?

Yena saw an expression that Lucifer had never seen before. Very worried expression.

Yena felt deja vu.

However, that expression only lasted a few seconds. The man's expression returned to 'factory suit' mode, cold and even.

"Apply medicinal ointment." He said. Lucifer also took off his clothes which were indeed partially burnt.

Yena stared at the man's back for a moment.

"We failed again. What if this time Arion doesn't go and keep looking for us?"

"That's for sure. Maybe we won't be out of here for long." Lucifer said.

"Oh… this is bad. We'd better come up with a plan, or if you're already healed why not just try to fight it. I don't think the difference in your strength is that big, at least you can delay the time while I go get the yeouiju." Yena suggested. Maybe Arion is stronger, but it's not impossible that Lucifer can deal with it. Lucifer can always outwit him and run away.

Yena thought doing a little trick would work. But who would have thought that Lucifer firmly rejected this proposal for very cowardly reasons.

"No. I don't want to face him. The burns caused by Arion's fire are very painful." Lucifer shook his head and sighed then went downstairs.

Yena watched him leave with a confused look on her face. That man doesn't look like a coward, why would he say such a ridiculous excuse?

Yena suddenly started to think about what Arion said.

For two days they were trapped there. Really can't get out even for a second. Even for food, the crow brought them.

"What's a crow? Is he some kind of demon or something?" Yena asked when the crow delivered food for the umpteenth time.

It's dinner time. Lucifer and Yena sat across from each other at a small table. But only Yena who eats. Lucifer doesn't have much appetite for human food. He said the crow had brought him some other food downstairs earlier. Yena didn't dare ask what he ate. At most farm animals, right?

"In this world, there are various kinds of special creatures that you humans don't know about, and the crow is just one of them." Lucifer said without taking his eyes off the book he was reading.

Sometimes Yena was surprised. Almost all the time Lucifer was busy reading a book that she don't know what book. Every time Yena wanted to see it, he was always angry. What a strange reptile.

"Yes yes I know. So how long have you two known each other?" Yena asked again. It seems that now they can be considered as friends and deserve to know each other.

"..." Lucifer didn't flinch.

"Oh yeah... I don't know your age yet. How long have you lived?"

"..."

Lucifer still ignored her. Yena smiled annoyed but continued to talk.

"Ehem. I'm only 20 years old. Soon my birthday will come and I will be 21 years old. I hope on my birthday I can go home and be with my family." Yena said in a slightly melancholic tone.

However, even Lucifer still paid it no mind.

Yena looked at the man's serious face and chuckled.

"You know, manners are not only for humans but all creatures. When someone is talking you can't ignore it. Be a good man, especially a woman. Women don't like to be ignored you know, especially me."

Heard Yena grumble then Lucifer closed the book and put it down. He looked at her flatly.

"I hear you." He said.

Yena sighed softly and put down her spoon because she had finished eating.

Lucifer took a handkerchief and suddenly wiped the food stain on the corner of Yena's lips. The girl was just stunned.

"Do you want to take a shower? Take a shower. I'll warm the bed for you." Lucifer said again.

Saw Lucifer walking to the bed and rolling on top of him Yena looked at him with her mouth agape.

What's with this guy?

"What are you doing? You want to warm the bed, don't you? Tsk! What's in my bed isn't warm but it's getting colder you know!" Yena can not think. Every day this creature begins to show its 'true' nature.

Yena didn't want to see a silly reptile 'warming' the bed, so she took a towel and went into the bathroom.

Now she has a full bath and even added two sets of clothes. Lucifer says maybe they should stay here for a while because Arion won't give up so easily. This made Yena nervous.

Yena who was almost done taking a shower peeked outside when she heard a suspicious sound from the room.

She saw Lucifer crouching while holding a bunch of twigs whose ends were blazing with fire and warming the bed with them.

Seeing him, Yena didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Now, she felt that staying here a few more days wouldn't be too boring if Lucifer continued to grow more and more ridiculous like that.

The night feels more comfortable because the bed feels warmer. yena lay relaxed while Lucifer sat on the chair licking his burning hands.

"You know you're afraid of fire, why are you so desperate?" Yena said, surprised.

"Because I am a being with good manners and a good man," answered Lucifer flatly.

Yena smiled amusedly. So he listened to her words earlier. Who would have thought this creature was so tame?

"But you don't have to push yourself. Don't do what you don't like. It's late, go to sleep." Yena said.

"I'm not going to sleep."

"Why?"

"Because I am a good man, then I will take care of you all night," said Lucifer.

Yena looked at him in surprise.

"Hey, are you making fun of me or what?"

"No. I'm a nice guy, so of course, have to listen to what girls have to say."

Lucifer's reply made Yena want to go crazy. It seemed that he became obsessed with wanting to be a good man after listening to her words earlier. Just dizzy.

"You--"

"Wakk, wakk! Lucifer!"

Lucifer got up to open the window and let the crow in.

"At this time of night, what's wrong?" He asked.

"Arion kwakk! Arion had leave!"
