Synopsis

DISCORD: https://discord.com/invite/ApNZDux8kj Life is hard when your magic aptitude is trash. >Life is harder when you're murdered by strange intruders who call themselves "players". >>And life is hardest when you somehow reincarnate... straight into an existential crisis. [Activating Empress' Necklace of Fate. All requirements for Successor of an Incomplete Fate have been met.] [You have broken free of the restraints of the Non-Player Character, A Blue-Haired Magic Researcher.] [System Initialization: Player Synchronization.] [Synchronization Complete.] [Character customization complete.] [Class selected.] [Player Name: Aria Lucaris.] [Welcome to Aeon Odyssey, Player. You will be transported to the tutorial.] [In this life, you must fulfill your fate. A quest has been added to your quest log.] Aria wakes up to realize she's become a "player" in this strange reality. Fine. Challenge accepted. Then she runs into her murderer - conveniently the number one ranker, Gryphon Vale. And... the man's more unhinged than she ever suspected. As she focuses on her desire to grow stronger and seek vengeance on the players who killed her, a bizarre System Administrator seems determined to change the genre. Forget "Fantasy", let's go with "Romantasy"! (Does Aria have a choice? Doubt.) System windows? Check. Unhealthy focus on an unachievable revenge? Check. Flirtatious murderers? Check. A fangirl System Admin? Check. A game that's WAY too broken? Double check. Triple check? Let's just quadruple check that. ------- It's a romance. Also a fantasy. I give up trying to figure out where this book fits on this site. Just don't take this too seriously. >>NOTE: Female lead. Written by a romance author. Just take it for what it is, okay? Okay. I was raped as a student - and I'm not the only one

I don't remember being taught about consent at school, other than "No means no." What I do remember is being told not to walk home on my own, or I'd risk being raped by a stranger in a dark alley. But when I was raped it was not in the street, but in my own student house, and I had taken the precaution of being walked home by someone I knew. It was the first social event of that academic year at the University of Bristol and it had been a fun night. It was everyone's favourite time of term - lectures had not properly begun and deadlines were still far from our minds. I drank, laughed and danced until I was ready for sleep. As I was leaving the club, a guy also at the social said he lived near me and offered to walk me home. Walking home alone, late at night, in the dark was something I actively tried to avoid, so I gladly accepted his offer. We'd only met a few weeks before, so conversation was light - we chatted about the night and what to expect in the new term. When we got to the steps that led up to my house, he politely asked if he could pop inside for a glass of water because he was feeling unwell. Maybe this is when I should have heard alarm bells, but even as I was pouring the drink in my kitchen nothing struck me as amiss. Not until after he'd finished the water, and the pretence was over. With his first demand to go to my room, came my first rebuff - my first spoken "No." To this day, it still strikes me how a charming disguise can so quickly disperse, and turn into aggression. Despite my refusal to go to my bedroom, and my repeated attempts to get him to leave, he was relentless: "Why would you let me in if you didn't want something to happen?" The more I said I wasn't interested, the more forceful he became. I lost count of how many times I said "No". And then suddenly there was someone physically stronger than me, refusing to leave until he got what he wanted. His hand grabbed my arm so fiercely that it became instantly clear that his intentions had never been to get me home safely. It is a strange feeling, being so paralysed by fear in your own living room. In that moment, I realised saying "No" wasn't going to be enough. He took off my tights. When he was done he finally left. The next day I locked myself in my room, only leaving to shower away the reminders of the night before. I lay there overwhelmed with disgust, self-blame and guilt.

This novel definitely deserves 5 stars. The author uses first person perfectly and has 0 grammar/spelling issues, as far as I can tell. The first and second chapters are really good, they leave you with many questions and a lot of interest. :-)

The grammar of this novel is immaculate. And who doesn't like video games?? Everyone loves it and this novels also has the right amount of humor. Great so far, I hope to see more.

This is an absolutely phenomenal read! The writing quality is truly top knotch, one of the best I’ve seen on this platform. This novel deserves to be on the shelves in stores. I highly recommend this read. The premise is extremely unique and entices you to read on. The mc is overpowered and witty, which makes it fun to read her journey. Great job Author! I shall continue to read this!

The obligatory 5-star self-review. If you like video games, romance, humor, and a weak MC growing overpowered, this is your sign to start reading! This is a slow burn, so settle in for a deliciously excruciating wait!

I'll admit, I have only read the first chapter so far, but I'll definitely come back for more. Very well written and riveting, so I'm curious how the reincarnation and the events will unfold! Go Lena!
