Chapter 12:A New Friend In Our Group 2

Second day of break

"Yaaaawwwwn" Jayden yawned as he got out of his room

The three of us waited for Mark to get ready, the four of us got out of the inn.

"Okay, where to next?" Kirby asked

We all thinked

"Maybe Whisperwind Forest? Kirby suggested

We all agreed to Whisperwind Forest but first, we are going to eat at the guild, we all went to the guild. We all ordered the same food, a big roasted chicken we can feast on. We all feasted the roasted chicken, hooooo, damn, were full.

We all rested first and went out of the guild, we all bought some food for our picnic somewhere in the meadow in the Whisperwind Forest, which we don't know if there's a meadow there.

We bought cakes, pancakes, breads, tea set, tea, kettle, phosphorus for making fire, and some meats to cook and eat. We packed up our things and the foods and went straight to the Whisperwind Forest entrance, it is already looked beautiful on the inside and the outside just like the time we went to hunt the ogre.

We ventured in, suddenly, a girl came out of a bush and spread her arms to stop us.

"What are the four of you doing here?" The girl asked

"Uhhhh, just exploring the forest" I replied

"And what are your guild ranks?" The girl asked

2 journeymans, 1 beginner and the last one is not in a guild" I replied

"I am sorry but this forest is for experts and I care for your safety and lives, you shall not pass" the girl said

"C'mon, just let us pass, what's wrong if we are not experts" Kirby said to the girl

"No, this forest is full of giants and dangerous entities, so you cannot" the girl replied

Goddamit, who is she anyway to stop us? Well I mean, this is the place where we saw the big ogre. I felt a push behind me, it is Jayden who's going to the girl.

"Hey beauty, why don't you just let us pass?" Jayden said to the girl

Uhhhh, did Jayden just call her beauty? I mean, she's beautiful tho, what a rizz, the girl blushed (⁠⁄ ⁄⁠•⁠⁄﹏⁄⁠•⁠⁄ ⁄⁠) .

"Uhhhh what did you just say?" The girl said to Jayden

"Just let us in pretty, there are the four of us, of course we can beat the monsters who are in our way" Jayden said to the girl

"I don't care if there are the four of you, I care about all of your safety, and number 2, STOP FLATTERING ME!" The girl yelled at Jayden

"Just c'mon, just let us in beautiful, none of us will die, 100% promise" Jayden said to the girl

I'm not sure what Jayden and the girl are doing but it felt like there's a romance comedy scene in front of us.

"Okay okay (⁠⁄ ⁄>⁄﹏⁄<⁄ ⁄⁠), I'll let the four of you pass". The girl said to Jayden and made way< p>

Yep, good work Jayden, the four of us continued walking.

"Wait!" I heard the girl shouted behind us

"Can I join your group!?, I promise I will be useful during fights" the girl shouted

Huh? Join our group?

"It's up to you Mathew, your our leader" Jayden whispered to me

Ehhhh, join our group, hmmm

"What's your power" I asked the girl

"I am a cleric, I can heal all of you simultaneously and give you some energy to keep you up in the fight, I can heal you all for just 45 seconds but I can't continuously heal you for about 1 minute after healing you, you can call that a 1 minute cool down" the girl replied

Well, I mean, many days of doing guild quests, none of us get an injured but remembering the ogre nearly smashing me on the ground, scares me, well, she'll be useful one day but what bothers me is that will be 4 men and 1 woman, uhhh, he even got courage to ask us to join us, okay then, I'll accept her.

"Okay, I accept your request, what's your name?" I replied and asked the girl

The girl looked happy and excited after I accepted her request ✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧.

"My name is Nova" she replied

"Okay, my name is Mathew, this is Jayden, this is Kirby and then Mark" I introduced myself and the three to her

She excitedly joined us

"So where are we going?" She asked

"We're taking a break from the guild, so we're just taking a picnic" I replied

"A picnic! ✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧, why don't we go!" Nova said to us

Nova excitedly ran ahead of us, I felt excited after having a new one in our group, wait what? Why is Nova going on her own if she said it is full of monsters? Oh well, we just followed behind Nova.

We ventured deeper and deeper in the forest, it's just Nova kept on taking the lead.

*Thud Thud Thud*

We heard footsteps nearby, all of us including Nova of yonder stopped, there is an ogre to our left just walking in a clearing, we all slowly laid down to the ground and waited for the ogre to go away.

*Thud Thud thud thud*

We heard the ogre went away, that was a close call, we continued our journey. We stumbled upon a falls in front of us, there are beautiful flowers around it.

"Wow (⁠・⁠o⁠・⁠), if only I had a camera to take a picture of this beautiful falls" I said

"Did you just say camera (ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ⁠)?" Kirby asked

Oh sh*t, I forgot we are in the past

"Oh I said nothing" I replied

Nova just playfully walked around the falls, we continued the journey and followed the path. We walked and walked and then we stumbled upon a small mossed house, why is there a lonely house here.

*Knock knock knock*

I knocked on the door, no one answered, I turned the knob, it wasn't locked. I opened the door open wide, the inside is mossy, there's a mossy bed on the right side, the center of the house are tables and chairs and in front of me which is the left side of the house is a kitchen counter.

"Wooooo(⁠・⁠o⁠・⁠), wonder who lives here and how old it is" I heard Nova behind me

We inspected all around the house, I opened the cupboard, there were rusty pans and utensils inside, on the other cupboard, there were canned foods which were also rusty.

We all searched around the house

"I think I found something, seems kind of a note" we heard Jayden

"A note (ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ)?" Kirby said

Nova went near Jayden

"Read it for us" Nova said to Jayden

Jayden noticed Nova near her, he blushed (⁠⁄⁠ ⁠⁄⁠•⁠⁄⁠-⁠⁄⁠•⁠⁄⁠ ⁠⁄⁠) and get a little farther away from her. Oh my (⁠•⁠‿⁠•⁠), Nova hitting on Jayden or Jayden uncomfortable near Nova?

"For Ava

I have been waiting for so long for you to come back, why, what did I do to make you never come back. I have been waiting for you for 2 years in this house, you promised me to come back in a few days to go see your family but what, you didn't, I can't take it anymore. I am breaking up with you, my ring is under the pillow, keep it or sell or whatever just don't show yourself to my eyes, goodbye.

"2 years of loneliness? I felt bad for James .⁠·⁠´⁠¯⁠`⁠(⁠>⁠▂⁠<⁠)⁠´⁠¯⁠`⁠·⁠." Mark said< p>

"Wonder what happened to Ava tho and where is James now (ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ)?" I said

Jayden looked under the pillow, there's no ring.

"Maybe Ava came back and saw the note and ring, maybe¯⁠\⁠_⁠(ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ)⁠_⁠/⁠¯" Kirby said after seeing there's no ring under the pillow.

We continued to search around, there's no other thing to search now. We went outside the house and continued our journey, we were met by a beautiful meadow, a big big meadow with a view of a mountain.

There are a lot of butterflies flying around the flowers.

"Hooooooly sh*t (⁠・⁠o⁠・⁠)" Kirby said

Nova went around to play on the fields and with the butterflies.

"This is amazing! ✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧" Nova shouted while running around

I didn't know a dangerous forest is hiding a beautiful place, not a single monster can be seen nearby. The four of us looked for a perfect spot for our picnic, we found a flat place with no flowers around it and no bumps.

I took out a very big blanket which 8 people can fit and spread it on the spot. We started putting out the foods, tea sets and the others. I set up a campfire for our kettle to boil water...oh sh*t ＼⁠(⁠°⁠o⁠°⁠)⁠／, we forgot to bring water.

"Sh*t, we forgot to bring water my lads ಠ⁠‿⁠ಠ" I said to the three

The three got shocked (⁠ʘ⁠ᗩ⁠ʘ⁠'⁠)

"Oh right, I forgot there's a river before arriving here, don't worry guys, I'll go (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)" I said to the three after remembering about the small river

I got a cup and went back to where we came from, I scoop some water from the river with the cup until the kettle was full, we wanted it full because we enjoy tea, sometimes sweet coffee is good.

I went back to the lads, they already started making fire, I put the kettle on top of the fire and waited for the water to boil. All the foods are also in the middle of the blanket, the three just sat on the vacant sides of the blanket just readying the other foods, Nova just kept on playing around the field.

I sat down with the three and relaxed

"Uhhh, guys, I have a confession" Jayden said

"What is it (ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ)?" I asked

"It's uhhh, it's hard to say it" Jayden said

"Take your time, just relax and say it" Mark soothingly said to Jayden

"It's uhhh, I have a crush on Nova" Jayden finally said

"What (⁠・⁠o⁠・⁠)!?" Kirby said in surprise

The three of us are also shocked

"Just keep it a secret to her okay, it's embarrassing" Jayden asked us

"Ho ho ho, don't worry, we will keep it a promise(⁠✷⁠‿⁠✷⁠), you can trust us" Mark lightly said to Jayden

I knew it

The kettle whistled, finally our tea

"Okay lads, the tea is ready✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧" I said to the three

We put our powdered tea into our cup, and poured it with hot water, then we put sugar.

"Hooooo, tasty as ever(⁠ ^⁠ᴗ^⁠)" Jayden said after taking a sip

"Mmmmm(⁠ ^⁠ᴗ^⁠), it's been a long time since I tasted a good tea" Mark said

Oh yeah(⁠･⁠o⁠･⁠;⁠), Nova

"Nova, have some tea and bread( ^⁠‿⁠^⁠)!" I yelled at Nova

Nova came running at us

"Sooooo, you guys just sit here and drink some tea (ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ)?" Nova said to us with a confusing expression

"Well, it's our day off day ( ^⁠‿⁠^⁠), why won't you join us because tomorrow will be the last day of enjoyment and we're going to work again in the tommorow of tommorow" Mark said to Nova

"You mean overmorrow?" Kirby corrected Mark

"Okay then" Nova said

I poured Nova a tea and added some sugar and gave it to her, she slurped the tea.

"Mmmmm✧⁠◝⁠(⁠⁰⁠▿⁠⁰⁠)⁠◜⁠✧, tasty" Nova complimented the tea

I looked at Kirby, he had a angry ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ expression looking at Nova because she slurped her tea.

We began to add some bread and biscuits available with the tea, it is lunchtime now, we cooked the pork we bought and made a braised pork in soy sauce dish, the five of us ate it, we are tired after eating.

The three went to sleep, only me and Jayden are awake, I could see Jayden making glances on Nova's sleeping face, I just watch the view of the mountains over yonder. It is now afternoon, the three woke up.

"Ready to go back?" I asked them

They all nodded, we started packing all the tea sets and the leftover foods, we packed the blanket and cleaned the place where we made fire, we bury the ashes at the forest.

The place looked clean like we have never touch it, we started going back to the village, we back to the woods, we hid from the giant enemies, we went pass the small house, we passed the falls and we are back again at the entrance.

"Hooooo, that was tiring" Kirby panted

We went straight to the inn, me, Kirby and Mark made Jayden to pay for Nova's, hehehehehehe(⁠◠⁠‿⁠◕⁠). The three us went to our room, it is not night so we're still eating at the guild tonight, wonder where to explore tommorow.
