Whoosh!

The sound was loud, the noise didn't seem like it was going to stop.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

On a night when people were settling in for sleep, a repetitive noise persisted throughout the area, so much so that it could be heard even inside Mika's house.

Despite his efforts to rest, Mika found himself unable to do so due to the booming noise, which sounded as loud as a tornado. As a result, he woke up with bags under his eyes.

Consequently, he got out of bed to investigate the source of the noise, while Lusina remained sound asleep and undisturbed.

Shortly thereafter, Mika went out to investigate the source of the noise, only to find himself in a state of utter disbelief.

As it turned out, the culprit behind the incessant racket was none other than Sougo himself, who had been engaged in rigorous training for several days. So intense was his training that he had managed to cause numerous trees to explode in the process.

After five days of arduous effort, Sougo had finally achieved mastery in the art of wind magic, which enabled him to conjure up a powerful blast of wind from the palm of his hand. It was at this point that he heard the sound of grass being trodden upon and turned around to discover that Mika had been observing him all along.

Sougo appeared to be in a state of physical exhaustion, as evidenced by the numerous signs of fatigue he displayed, from his face down to his palms. The latter in particular seemed to be trembling excessively due to the recent exertion they had undergone. Nonetheless, Sougo was eager to demonstrate just how far he had come in his training, and proceeded to conjure up an enormous sphere of wind magic without the need for any incantations or spells.

"Unreal! You've been training day and night this whole time!? And to top it all off, you've mastered it within five days, that's impressive!" Mika praised Sougo's ingenuity.

"It is all thanks to you. Without your help, I wouldn't have gone this far." Without Mika's teaching, Sougo wouldn't understand the fundamentals. Even though Mika's explanations were convoluted, Sougo still managed to do it. And by that time, Sougo realized that he wasn't very good at socializing with someone because it felt like Mika was talking to himself rather than talking to Sougo.

"And I mean really? Do you really need to force yourself to impress us? Not only you've been working out for five straight days, but you're also working up this late?" Mika's expression completely transformed.

"Can't let me catch a break, can you?" Mika sighed.

After all they had been through together, Sougo never let Mika take a break, from when he troubled him by leaving his house while he was still recovering.

"My mistake. I did not mean to wake you up nor to impress you. I have been focusing on training to remove my boundaries, especially because I have no such sorcery." Sougo explained with an unclear reason.

"It's an understatement, but at times like this, you should be resting, not training your butt off." Mika's hands were on hips as he was saying.

Mika was eager to tell him about something he must know, but couldn't afford to waste his time, and so he told him.

"Alright, since you've made it this far, I suppose I shall tell you about achieving the magic's full might." Mika began a discussion about how to improve Sougo's magic further.

"Ermm, how to start... Even in the absence of a tool or apparatus, this skill is accessible to all. Consider it as your unique ability, and mastering it can result in extraordinary accomplishments. For instance, if your area of expertise is blades, you will eventually acquire greater proficiency in wielding wind-coated blades. Put differently, you will later on feel a unique ability."

"My special move I possess, yet do not actively employ, is what I like to call "Lightning Avoskarry". This proficiency involves exceptional precision in conjunction with lightning, whereby my projectiles, such as lightning-infused arrows, exhibit the ability to rebound and track the target. Since I now can use lightning magic without a need to aim."

"That is why in fact, I'm afraid of shooting the Unabī, afraid I would hit you instead. I had grown accustomed to relying on my ricochet skills for my projectiles, hehe, sorry to disappoint." Mika reasoned why he could not shoot when fighting the Unabī because he would only rely on ricochet ones.

"Furthermore, Lagnaräz and Rigura are incantations fabricated by us humans, technically witches, to serve as a booster or a helper for enhancing magical control and strengths. These spells are effective for all elemental types. On the other hand, Syyons can be considered as a divinely-created object."

To put it succinctly, Mika exerted a great deal of effort to cultivate his magical abilities and aiming skills, which enabled him to learn his special move.

This could also be acquired through rigorous training, such as a beginner to attain mastery in swordsmanship, which afforded individuals greater command over their magical aptitude in blade-like weapons, shortly be one with the magic itself.

Analogous to a video game, one could attain new skills by acquiring knowledge and experience thereafter. This was based on what he had heard. Some people would eventually create their own technique with their creativity.

Mika honed his marksmanship abilities through a serendipitous revelation, whereas Syyons possessed literature on the subject matter, albeit not focusing on proficiency. This implied that an individual can potentially cultivate multiple aptitudes through deliberate practice.

In addition, Mika informed Sougo that if he were to engage in intensive training by shooting magic balls incessantly for approximately 20 consecutive days, it was possible for him to acquire energy mastery that would help his energy ball give more damage due to his mastery over harnessing it.

This would enable Sougo to generate a blast wave instead of merely throwing magic balls, thereby establishing him as an expert in the realm of energy-based attacks.

"Anyways, my knowledge is limited to this kind of subject. I don't know much but certainly need more answers."

"Okay, any questions? Regarding Syyons?"

With a slight nod, Sougo responded, "Without you realizing, you are explaining how generally things work, which applies to physical abilities as well. Take archery for example, for starters, it may prove challenging to achieve mastery over aiming, but with years of practice, a person can achieve better aiming. And what are video games?"

"Oh yeah, you're right. Sorry about that. And seriously? in your era there has none?" Mika, in utter shock, was confused that Sougo didn't have video games in his era.

Sougo's negative response with a gesture of shaking his head served as a persuasive indication to Mika that his contemporary period was not the only prevailing era.

Mika ceased his prolonged discourse, recognizing his need for rest, as he had gone excessively far in disclosing various matters to Sougo without keeping track of time. Mika requested that Sougo wait until daybreak, so he could further expound on the subject.

"I see; even before you said that it was already dawn," Sougo told Mika that it was already morning.

Eventually, Mika's eyes twitched as he stared at the morning sky with his hands near his knees while bending forward.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Mika soon fell to the soft grassy ground with a warm feeling that led him to sleep.

Sougo tried to wake Mika up by approaching him; however, Sougo's body abruptly dropped to the ground, landing on his face. It was at this moment that overusing magic could be a lesson to Sougo to conserve magic. By the time Lusina woke up, her jaw dropped as she saw one man and one boy pass out in front of her.

"What are you guys doing?!" She did not know what they were up to, and so she healed them both up until she realized that Sougo had perfected his training in mastering energy gathering.
